I want to say I'm shocked, but I'm really not. After all, it IS Baltimore.

A cabal of corrupt corrections officers and members of the Black Guerrilla Family gang enjoyed nearly free rein inside the Baltimore City Detention Center, federal authorities allege, smuggling drugs and cellphones into the jail and having sexual relationships that left four guards pregnant.

White had sexual relationships with numerous prison guards and got four pregnant, prosecutors allege. Two of the guards had his name tattooed on their bodies Â— one on her neck and another on her wrist, according to the indictment.

26 I had a chance to watch the local news last night when they were covering this story.
One little item that jumped out was a wiretap from two years ago.
On it, one of the female guards was quoted as saying that it would be impossible for anyone to discipline her, as she had the Union backing her up.

Even if it causes one person to look at government unions differently, I call it a plus.

27 Natural gasoline is usually known as "casing head gas" or "distillate". It is the naturally formed liquid that condenses as the natural gas cools. It will run in a car but that's illegal (no taxes) but will burn up the engine valves in short order.

35 Speaking of adaptive, comatus, my dad had single cylinder "popping johnnies" to run the pump jacks. He would start them on propane and then switch over to distillate. I knew where I was in the woods by which ones I could hear.

I think "cesspool" is being a little too generous when referring to Baltimore. One of the 7 layers of hell would be more like it. I lived there for 3 years in college and I was the only person I knew who wasn't robbed/mugged. My car was broken into so many times I just started leaving it unlocked and the glove box open. Ugh. Charm City indeed!
