First of all, the man has never inspired anyone to do anything other than feel good about themselves for  voting for a black guy.  So now he's feeling sorry for himself, which means all those people who wanted him to be a symbolic savior, don't have anything left onto which to take hold.

Boo freakin' hoo.  You expect  the rest of us to feel sorry for you because you are JUST NOW figuring this out??

36 Coburn opened with a subtle swipe at his own party. “I guess I can’t really speak for Republicans,” he claimed. “My thoughts are, the American people don’t believe we have a debt ceiling because we always increase it, and they don’t believe we have the discipline in Washington.”

The senator then took aim at Gregory’s implications that these “tough issues” can only be solved through bipartisan compromise. “The reason we’re in trouble on deficits and debts is not because we didn’t agree, but because we did,” Coburn contended. “We agreed to spend $740 billion we didn’t have last year. We agreed to waste $30 billion — as I put in the Wastebook — this year. We agreed to continue to let Medicare have $80 billion a year in fraud in it. We’re going to have $80 billion a year in fraud in Obamacare. We agreed to all those things.

“So the story coming out of Washington, that we don’t get along? I would dispute that,” the senator declared. “We get along just fine with the status quo of the government being ineffective and inefficient. So we pass a bill that raises spending and raises taxes and denies what we promised the American people, and everybody says “Oh my goodness how great! You grew the government some more and you charged us more taxes and you didn’t fix any of the problems.”

In a word...weird; at least from what I remember while trying to forget what I was watching by getting drunk out of my gourd.

It was a period piece but had a strangely anachronistic music score. In one scene where they were trying depict decadence of the day by partying, "I Want Candy" by Bow-Wow-Wow was playing.

Another scene showed Marie Antoinette's massive shoe collection which actually had a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor high tops.

..or maybe not. I WAS drinking heavily

Look at past history. America (note - America, the nation, not Americans as individuals) has always treated its vets this way. The only reason the vets didn't get kicked to the curb after WW2 is because the Cold War kicked in right after that. Without that it would have been Hoovervilles all over again. As it was the only reward we got for winning the cold war were drawdowns and BRACs.

I cash my retirement check every month knowing that with a stroke of a pen it could be the very last one. We just aren't a big enough voting bloc for the politicos to worry about...but we sure do make a nice press image with our pretty uniforms on, and that's all that matters to those suckers of cock.

72 Can't compete with a dancing Rob Ford: Stories of great hymns- "I wonder as I wander" The story of a haunting ballad heard in Appalachia in 1933. The Mayor of Murphy, NC tells the story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FttMHRyD6E.. A beautiful version sung by Joan Baez: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FttMHRyD6E The words: I wonder as I wander out under the sky How Jesus the Saviour did come for to die For poor on'ry people like you and like I; I wonder as I wander out under the sky When Mary birthed Jesus 'twas in a cow's stall With wise men and farmers and shepherds and all But high from God's heaven, a star's light did fall And the promise of ages it then did recall. If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing A star in the sky or a bird on the wing Or all of God's Angels in heaven to sing He surely could have it, 'cause he was the King I wonder as I wander out under the sky How Jesus the Saviour did come for to die For poor on'ry people like you and like I; I wonder as I wander out under the sky

Benjamin Franklin actually ran what constituted America's spy service at this juncture in history, and do you happen to know what book was used as the key code for decrypting the coded communications between our operatives? It was "Droit des Gens" by Emerich Vattel. http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~room4me/america/code/frankli2.htm The Book most quoted by Chief Justice John Marshall, and the most quoted (by anyone) International Law book of that era. The book that everyone was perusing for their secret communications is also the very book which is regarded as the source of the "natural born citizen" clause in Article II. (Section 19) on Citoyens and Naturels.
