35 I heard some libtard on Fox (I think) say that the VA is an "excellent" example of government-run healthcare.  I nearly fell on the floor in convulsions.

Son just went to the VA this week (he has a painful back injury from A-stan that he had documented by the Navy) to see what he would need to do for treatments, etc.  He was told to come back in six months.

He's not a pussy, works out every day, has been doing our yard work, etc.  He is damned sure not going on disability, just wants to see what they can do for him.

He's got Tri-Care for the next three months, and they suggested he see a couple of different docs before he comes back to the VA.

Ah, yes.  Gubmint healthcare at its finest.  Obamacare should be a blast.

It's the best car I've ever owned. Despite its age, everything works. Everything works fine./ It's not nickel and diming me to death. But the body is rotting away. I had some body work done a couple of years ago to get through inspection, and this year I think the guy took pity on me and shot some foam into the holes in order to be able to pass it. 71 "The Soviets used to have professional 'shoppers' at the state run Gum dept store in Moscow that all the tourists were guided to."

An old acquaintance of my father was the ne plus ultra of limousine liberals.

She married old money. Her husband conked of a heart attack shortly thereafter.

She proceeded to live on a huge estate while supporting every lefty cause you can imagine, and totally failing to see the contradiction. During the Cold War, she led a "peace" delegation to the USSR, where they got the full bore Potemkin-village treatment, showing them how wonderful life was under Communism. And absolutely would not shut up about it after she got back. Why, if it weren't for that war criminal Reagan, everyone everywhere could enjoy such glories.

"She should have stayed," I grumbled, none too quietly.

Anyway, I got into it with her at one point about medical care, and her visit to a Moscow hospital, about which she rhapsodized, and I said, "You _do_ realize that in actual Soviet hospitals, there's typically no hot water or clean sheets on the wards, and patients have to buy and bring their own medicine and surgical supplies? You _do_ realize you were shown a hospital that only the Party elite are admitted to?"

"That's a lie," she told me primly but firmly.

Anyway, a year or two later, she and I both ended up at a party at the home of mutual acquaintances. One of the guests had just come from Israel, where his family had just welcomed a cousin, who was a Soviet refusenik who had just gotten out of the USSR finally, thanks to Jackson-Vanik. The cousin arrived in severe ill health. Had to be assisted off the plane and taken immediately for medical attention.

The guest was talking loudly about how sick his cousin was on arrival, and relayed his cousin's horror stories of Soviet medical care. "There's no hot water or clean sheets on the wards! Patients have to buy and bring their own medicine! Those Party bastards enjoy the best, while ordinary people get the worst!"

I looked down the table at Mrs. Limousine Liberal. She looked as though this guy had just tilted her head back and taken a long piss up her nostrils. It was ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS to see her having her commie propaganda fantasies refuted in real time by hard cold reality. One of the best experiences of my life.

I later said to the Israeli guy, "But Mrs. LL has been to the Soviet Union and she will assure you that the medical care there is second to none." He looked across the room at her with an expression of the purest and most distilled hatred you could ever hope to see.

Doing my part for peace and understanding, yo.

Rules for Conservatives?

I submit for your consideration...

Rule Number One should be:

Make the liberals live by their own rules.

Seeing this picture of a classic old truck, reminds me of the fact that the Left would like to crush all these great old vintage vehicles.

But the Electric Cars...that liberals love...aren't paying any taxes for the roads that they drive on.

Electric Cars, and hybrids, aren't "paying their fair share".

Isn't that the liberal mantra? ...That everyone should pay their fair share?

Electric Cars should have a 'road tax' imposed on them.

You know...to be fair.

88 This is something I learned back when I was young, hit first, hit hard, and keep hitting.  So the conservatives have submitted a surrender bill and the demo's declined.  The conservatives need to immediately submit another bill, but unlike in the past, add something else they want that the demo's don't.  When the idiots say no, then repeat.  Make each counter-offer more in favor of the ultimate conservative desire.  In simpler terms, each time a offer is made and declined, make the next one even more painful to them.

The house controls the purse.  The retards have to play or the shutdown and then the limit hits.

Perot was winning an independent run for the Presidency at one point, before he bowed out just long enough for Clinton to take the lead. Disgust with both parties and with government in general is at an all time high, higher than at the time of Perot's chance to win.

Poor man's bodywork = flattened out soda cans, shiny side as exterior.  Cut to fit the panel shape you need, drill some holes through the flattened can and underlying, rusted panel.

Pop rivet 'em down, and then use polyurethane caulk to seal the edges.  Better, if you can caulk under the panels before you shoot the rivets.

Easier, but less effective than welding.  Welding is better, by far.  But, this'll keep the car dry, while it happily continues rusting beneath the flattened cans.

He said when they arrived back to Camp Leatherneck after a couple of weeks on a convoy, their absolute favorite food was Chicken Cordon Bleu.

118 35 I heard some libtard on Fox (I think) say that the VA is an "excellent" example of government-run healthcare. Posted by: Jane D'oh at October 12, 2013 06:47 PM (lVPtV) I bet every idiot that thinks the VA is awesome don't use it. According to liberals, VA care is free?  With the "ability to pay" rule in effect, and statement of net worth required annually, it's not free but graduated according to financial worth.

Also, falsification of net worth is a very serious matter, and can result in removal from the program and denial of future benefits.

Also, for the naysayers who believe VA care is free, they should walk in the shoes of combatants and then determine if it's free? Holes in your ass count for something.
