Actual healthcare has gotten so far removed from the games being played that the gameplayers think that nonsense are trumps.
For one thing, health insurance is not healthcare, nor is it insurance -- insurance is when you have slight odds of something very bad happening and you pay a small bit regularly to mitigate that slight chance. To use an example from autos -- a plan that pays for oil changes and gasoline is prepaid maintenance, not insurance.
Second, you have a "rack rate" for medical services/supplies that nobody pays. That's not insurance, either -- it's extortion. It means you have to be in a special club to not be bankrupted to pay for aspirin.

There are lots of turkeys around here too and it's the first year I've ever seen so many in the city. I was walking in a city park a few weeks ago and I saw a fox nail a goose. Since I hate the obnoxious crap machines, I was glad to see the fox provide himself with a nice dinner - but you really don't want foxes roaming around either.

I doubt that the typical Washington State household is a "prepared position". Of the people I know who do live in WA, the overwhelming majority are suburban yuppies of delicate liberal sensibilities, who don't own guns, and would be easily overwhelmed even by a half-assed assault. There's a reason that state is deep blue.
However, I also don't think that this silly "marauder" strategy is going to work all that well.
