I think I have clothes moths. I am hoping it is a relatively new outbreak so I can clean like the dickens, freeze things, and do some basic non-toxic treatment options and get it handled.
I hate bugs. Fuckers ate my favorite purple scarf.
And I am super careful because when I lived in my condo I inherited the world's worst carpet beetle infestation from the previous owners unknowingly and had to go through the agony of cleaning everything and checking all my books and paper (and I have a lot of both) and then getting the house tented and poisoned with us staying in a hotel for 3 days. So, I am a fanatic when it comes to that stuff. I am suspicious the moths came with my new mattress. Which pisses me off to no end.

First, Barky has to twist the Fourth Amendment into a pretzel. Then we have to have Eric Holder approve secret laws so that only we know who to target. Lastly, we need democrat Dianne Feinstein to dip into the cookie jar and pay off all of the important cronies.
Then the actually job of monitoring and recording millions upon millions of email, telephone, and text messages must be done.
First, we start by spying on the news reports. Next, we spy on the lunatic fringe liberals who may leave the reservation - including my cheating husband! Then we spy on all of those Pubs who are trying to save the Fourth amendment.
Gad, Barky hates the stupid Fourth Amendment and invoking "National Security" is the tool we use to circumvent it!
Finally, Barky decided to just monitor everybody! Who knows which person will turn against Barky. Screw the Constitution! It takes a lot of money, spying and cronyism to stay in power.
That facility in Utah will cost a huge amount of money to build and maintain. Heck, just doing that has used all of this year's budget money! I am surprised that Barky has not bankrupted this country!

Not just that... they used to be a more enjoyable experience to simply watch. The direction, shooting, editing, everything. Lean was particularly good, of course, but generally speaking, even the "gritty" films of the past were something to behold technically. Now, it's mostly choppy shit, frenetic everything, weird lighting, closeups and a bunch of other sucky stuff. I'm not sure how much of it is due to hackery on the part of the filmmaker/s, the new meth editing or whether the switch to digital has affected the process. Look at the difference between something like "Alien" and that thing called "Prometheus". Dunno.

Yep, it was a single stick that was bundled with the motherboard and help lessen the cost. I was planning to get an identical second stick for a total of 16 GB eventually. The board has two slots, being a mini-ITX form factor.
Another annoyance is that I ordered a mSATA SSD and only aftrwards discovered that the mSATA slot on the underside of the board is only SATA-2. This means that the connection isn't fast enough to let the drive operate at full speed, making it a bit of a waste unless you're really hard up for saving space. That generation of the Intel chip sets only provided two SATA-3 ports (and four SATA-2 but this is a very small board, so there are only two) and the board designer didn't see fit to have the mSATA slot double one of those. Instead, if you have an mSATA drive inserted you lose the use of one of the SATA-2 ports on the top side of the board. (You see this a lot with eSATA ports as well, which is why more expensive boards have additional SATA controllers to enable more ports.)

Yeah, storytelling as a whole has taken a nosedive. Pacing doesn't seem to figure much anymore, it's just... go, go go. The casting in "Alien" was a huge plus in making the story work as well as it did. You were actually interested in those guys enough to not get bored during the buildup. But also look at the way that film was staged and shot, compared to today. Not just "Alien", but other films. Compare the internal Nostromo scenes, boneship scenes and particularly the landscape stuff, compared to today's efforts. Producing epic looking scenes seems to be a lost art. They'd probaly tell Lean that he couldn't do Lawrence of Arabia, today. "It looks boring". "Where's the cinema verite kickboxing scene?" "What, no shaky cam?" "Justin Bieber as Lawrence is too far away in that boring ass desert wide shot... close up, please!" "What's with the fuddy duddy music? Where's the gangsta rap?".

Tax in my state, so it's about $20 after rebate with the slow free shipping. Newegg is so close to me it might be here by Monday anyway. The latest set of APUs from AMD aren't much of an improvement but the next bunch coming in the Fall may be interesting in that they're supposed to have a lot of the same silicon as the PS4 and Xbox One. So I may build another HTPC around one of those. Hopefully there will be a motherboard available with a SATA-3 mSATA slot to use this drive I'm stuck with.

Yep. Runner up I think. It wasn't a bad show though short. We were close to PA and Mrs928 is a big fan so I agreed to take her to the Celebration of Pride in whatevers. The crowd was much better behaved than a SF GP parade. No ass showing until the last hour we were there.

The original would have been a single port 1500cc. The later dual ported 1600's had a lot more oomph.
I had a 1600cc with racing heads, bumped compression, dual 2-throat 36mm Webers, warmed up Crane cam, lightened flywheel, etc. Beastly, even with the stock displacement. It could take a Vette at a stoplight for a couple of hundred feet before getting stomped.

It's easy nowadays to forget that a majority of the players are Canadians, isn't it? Ironically, the last NHL team from Canada to win the Stanley Cup was 20 years ago (Montreal in 1993). I think the lack of success of NHL teams from Canada in the past 20 years, as well as an influx of players from Europe, has actually contributed to sports fans decreasingly looking at hockey as a Canadian sport.

Not unique -- and not even particularly rare....but as our culture of narcissism engulfs basic human relations, increasingly non-pc. Used to be that you could say "I want" in a relationship -- no matter the subject -- and you might work together toward a common goal. Nowadays, it's a big deal to not feign some altruistic claptrap, even within a relationship.
Case in point -- my BH told me that she wished our bed were taller before she left for NC on her last 3-week stint. Though it's kind of a pain to be taller (e.g. can't sit on it to put my shoes on as easily), I raised it by 5-1/2 inches while she was gone. She acted like it was embarrassing for her to ask for something completely natural within our relationship -- like I cared what height the bed was so long as she was in it.
If the BH were to say, "I want you to make love to me", I'd try and do my best under the circumstances ("right here, in the frozen entrees section?!?")....and I'm taking Kalneva as being in the same state of mind. It's not like every bump, pinch or tickle has to be responded to equally enthusiastically, 'cause some times are more serious than others -- but we're a couple.

I haven't done this- but I've heard you should get an unlocked GSM phone from ebay or amazon, then buy an "in country" GSM card for it when she gets there... I may be wrong here, but google that, or check (the dork) Clark Howards website, it's likely where I heard this dribble...

I suspect that part of the problem in discussing this lies in the ambiguous term "sexual overtures". Guys, especially, put these out like beacons -- EVERYTHING is a sexual overture....but they neither need nor expect every one to lead to sex. Every time the BH and I pass in the hallway, I'll do something, just to be friendly. If she immediately responded by glomming onto me while shedding clothing, things could rapidly get awkward.

I definitely get that. I've been working from home the last two years, and (thankfully) get to define my own schedule... but it gets insane sometimes- work all night, sleep all day, the opposite, someplace in between, rinse repeat. Tend the garden, take a hike, check the blog, drink, work, you get it.
It's a luxury overall, but the sleep schedule is a weird bitch.

Another vote for Skype. And you can Skype to land lines or to mobiles, for a modest per-minute fee. So if your party in Russia has no Internet connection, but does have a Russian cellphone or landline, you can call that number using Skype. Call gets routed to a terminal in Russia, which then dials the recipient's phone. Easy peasy.

In a relationship, you have a level of constant intimacy. You're going to give a squeeze as you pass in a hallway, or share some "us time" on an elevator, or welcome someone home with a kiss -- and, sure, these things have a sexual backdrop, and could be regarded as a "sexual overture"....but they're not generally meant as "let's screw....here....now".
If Kalneva were taking each one of such things as a "sexual overture" that she had "never, ever rejected", then she'd be a rare bird indeed -- and probably a nymphomaniac as well according to DSM-5 standards. But if the standard is "you have but to ask, and I will give willingly" -- well, that's a slightly different reality and one far more common in relationships.

It never ceases to amaze me that behavior that would get anyone else thrown out of office almost immediately -- and serious jail time, too -- is excused (and praised) when Bark Obama does it.
