Why do I find that interesting? Because the deadliest open hand fighting techniques were originally developed by the common folk when emperors and kings banned owning and carrying regular weapons!

Up until this point I was inclined to theorize self-radicalization online. But now? Not so much.

I think we need to start looking for those international connections. They may just be there.

Age requires that I *ahem* closely monitor my fiber intake. Nothing that's been diagnosed, at least.
American beers are out. Besides, after drinking Guinness, they all taste like sparkling water, as someone upthread mentioned. Most of it, you can pour back in the horse, AFAIC.
Now, microbrews are a different story. We have a few down here that are pretty good, but Guinness is pretty much available everywhere, even the stuff in the bottle isn't bad.
Damn shame, that is.

A cold draft Guinness is one of life's little rewards for just about anything you can think of. If you have "problems" with other beer, you know what to do.

That doesn't legitimize what he did, but his justification for bombing the Murrah building was something more than "America is the Great Satan".

I'm not sure I'd have made the same decision because I can see a defense forming where his statements would be needed for conviction. You're throwing around a lot of accusations without them having been proven. I don't think it's been established that it was the Russians, and I wouldn't suggest that we take the Russians word for anything.
That being said, we shouldn't just take the govt's word for it, either. It's easy for them to just say "we didn't find anything." That could be innocent, or that could be BS, or that could be the result of that same absurdly naïve and suicidal concepts that went into the security plan at Benghazi.
This is an understandably thorny issue for America - religious freedom and tolerance have been one of the key cornerstones of the country. The problem is, that it's only set up for religions that are "good". Imagine, for example, a religion that require ritual human sacrifice - on it's face, the 1st Amendment says we have to let it happen, but it's implicit that "religious exercise" takes second priority vs. basic laws.
And so we have The Problem with Islam. Many Conservatives are generally downright anti-Islam, mostly because they are only religiously tolerant as far as accepting various versions of Christianity (if that!). But the big problem is not that we have a problem with Islam, but that Islam has a problem with US.
Other Conservative want to say that religion is inherently good, so they say that Islamic terrorists are "perverting" the religion. In reality, that's almost like American Catholics complaining about something the Pope says - it's just in denial of what the religion really is.
The talking heads - even on Fox - are walking on eggshells, not saying the obvious: that Islamic terror is for *religious* reasons. These two guys didn't care about how the US bent over backwards to help them out - we were still only Infidels to them.

Still not good, and needing some pharmocologial interventions no less...my call would have been Adenosin rapid I.V push 6mg...followed by another 6mg....and if no improvement...electrocardioversion....thats the drill where I come from.......

It's a known exception and is used when there is the potential for further damage or danger to the public.
The main thing this does is that if the suspect tries to claim 5 th amendment protection, the police don't have to stop interviewing them and they don't have to provide counsel. The suspect can continue to remain silent or not. Under the Miranda rules, the suspect would then no longer be interrogated.
Since Obama and his liberal fellow travelers have repeatedly made the claim that the US must not give even the appearance of torture then this suspect is in no danger. Right? RIGHT?
So what's the problem?

I've read the article now; much of it I think I had heard, but not all.
I guess the testimony of the mom raises reasonable suspicions, but the word of one woman of unknown reliability, and reporter with a similar issue, isn't definitive.
I guess I don't buy for a minute that this guy went to Russia for 6 months and didn't receive his training there. That seems obvious enough - where else would it happen?
These guys had a small ARSENAL of bombs. I'm not sure the article adequately explores where that would have come from. Doesn't some of that stuff cost money?
Anyway, it will be interesting to see if the plot thickens, but it seems like Obama's propagandists bury everything, and the other guys seem hesitant to really go after him.

Actually, not me. I am not a revenge guy. I tend to think that a person is a human until they take certain actions. At that point they convert themselves to garbage. Every week a truck drives by my house and hauls away the garbage. I am not in the least bit emotionally invested in that and I don't want to be.
As far as I am concerned I see it this way. Garbage should never have a given name. When a human converts themselves to garbage their name should go with it. No one should ever speak it unless it is in the pursuit of making sure all the accomplices are identified. Shoot up a theatre -- be forever known as "Asshole #347." Shoot up a school -- be forever known as "Asshole #348." We should never give fame to these assholes in any fashion. They don't have names because garbage shouldn't have a name.
Then, as soon as we are convinced that all the accomplices have been identified and arrested there should be a speedy trial and the garbage should be compacted into the landfill. Whole thing should never take more than a few weeks.
I don't want to know their story, I don't want to learn all the details, and I don't want revenge. Just compact the garbage into the landfill where it belongs. No fame, no martyrs, no nothing -- just disposal.

Seems they might have. If I made a guess, I'd say that they were promised a safe egress but when they got to the rendezvous, there was no one there and no one answering when they called.
They left them high and dry (as they planned to) which is why they were doing the crazy shit they wound up doing. They had no plan because they thought that was covered. (oops)
Pro tip: when dealing with cutthroat outlaws and terrorists, it's always best to have your own plans and to except to be double crossed. But then these were two kids who still thought they'd live forever and had never inflicted pain on anyone or ever had pain inflicted on them.
They led a fairly cushy life here in the states which doesn't prepare it's citizens for interaction with harsh realities. They were guilty of believing Hollywood and their handlers.

Better info....I will call it "Atrial-Fib" where the upper chambers of the heart are throwing out "erratic" electrical impulses and over-riding the primary SA node in the "Right Atrium" which holds the Primary Pacemaker for the heart. This can be harmeful since the upper chambers are now not contracting in sequence with the lower chambers or Ventricules and in fact blood is just "pooling" within the Atriums and the risk of clot formation is great. We treat with drugs that reduce the potential for clot formation, but the overall effort is to return the heart to "normal function" with the SA node back to being in charge and the Atriums and Ventricles beating in the proper sequence......

There's a misconception about what the Miranda decision was all about and what the guarantees and requirements are for LE.

Miranda requires that
a) suspect advised of their rights
b) if they invoke those rights (and that has to be done a certain way) then they take effect
c) first effect is that any questions by LE are stopped.
d) second is that if any further questioning is done must be done with counsel present. (that has to be asked for separate from the invocation of silence)
e) if LE doesn't need have any further questions they don't have to provide a lawyer and it's off to arraignment the suspect goes.
Remember: everything you learn about the world from Hollywood is wrong. (well almost everything but it's close enough to be true)
Whatever you think you know about Miranda that is based on anything you saw or heard on TV or in a movie: forget it.
It's like sideways shooting a pistol. Would you do that? No. So why would you think anything else you've ever "learned" by watching TV or Movies is correct?
Start with that as an assumption and you'll begin to have a major epiphany about life, love and the law.
