1) Tampons especially can be useful WRT injuries such as bullet wounds and

Yeah they were for additional first aid because normal first aid stuff was mentioned as standard equipment for the bug out bag, as well as being able to use them as extra padding in your feet. Dental floss because it can be used for stitching wounds, and winding it together as fishing line. And condoms because it can hold 2 liters of water or be used to keep other stuff dry.

Well, I am sorry you lost someone to smoking, but my father died from a stroke, never smoked, but suffered for years. And my sister died in a car wreck at 32, and yeah, we suffered repercussions..

I'll probably get my ass kicked for saying this, but El Paso isn't bad at all. It's Texas, barely. It's also not humid, and the cost of living is cheap.

Yup. And I'll point out that it's a very safe city for its size, with low humidity, a close by airport (right next to the base that used to house the Air Defense Artillery!) and again, it's dirt cheap to live there. I bought a three bedroom house for $125k back in '07.

Yeah, it is kind of liberal, at least compared to much of the rest of Texas. And yes, it's very low crime for a city of its size. It's also about 12 hours at most from a Denver, Beaumont (I know, I've made the trek) and Phoenix, so you have a lot of options for places to visit over a long weekend.

Still, 16 GB of memory for less then $900 for the whole system seems pretty good.
I don't generally run first person shooters, but I do run some other games that have a more moderate need - I'll probably pick up Civ5 and the new X Com with the new computer for example.

I saw Cruise in person when in Los Angeles one time - small guy, barely attractive and not at all what the big screen impression has given. Funny really how when you see some of these people in real life what a let down it is.
Also, watched Netflix's series House of Cards last night - turned it off after 10 minutes. Bad writing, boring and if there is any redeeming quality to this series I certainly missed it.

Find out the wattage and connectors available on the power supply. This is an area a lot of people don't think to check that becomes a hassle later when they want to install a better video card or other stuff. The big OEMs have used this as an area to save some pennies and eke out a profit. If they offer a more substantial PSU for a few bucks more, give some thought.

OSP, at the moment, FL has an almost identical tax system as Texas....no state income tax, 6% sales tax, reasonable property taxes, and no tax on military retirement.

300W is borderline for a business desktop. All too often when a client wanted to get a really big monitor that needed better video (or a connector with adequate bandwidth) I've been limited int he choice due to the need to use a card that had not additional power needs. The stock PSU would lack both the wattage and the spare connector.
Even though I'm not a big PC gamer, if I'm building a new machine I won't bother with anything less than 450W, unless it is a specialty low-power system like an HTPC and might even have an external PSU. You want a bit of ceiling in case your calculations for max power consumption are a bit off and just for general safety. There isn't much penalty for having more capacity than you ever need, other than a one-time cost.
Alternatively, make sure the PSU isn't something with proprietary connections to the motherboard. Dell and other OEMs used to do this with many models and it meant you couldn't use an off the shelf upgrade. As long as they stick to the standards you can wait until you actually need more juice and factor it as part of the cost.
If you get on the phone or online chat with the PC maker and say you want to have the capacity for a serious gaming card later, they may offer you stuff that doesn't appear on the web site. Why they make you ask for it has always been a mystery to me. It may be that they fear overwhelming the customer with too much information. You might also check for models are branded differently but are actually the same company. Just geared more toward the more demanding customer.

Reminds me of way back.....I had a guy in my college accounting classes who had been in the kinetic side of the Department of the Treasury (the guys who go on raids of counterfeiting operations). Having experienced both, he told me that it was better to be shot than stabbed, 'cause shot was more like being kicked but you could feel the knife going in. And then you have the recent case of the woman in Georgia who shot a guy five times in the neck before he ran off.

Ms. Trainer went thru 6 week cycles...Normal, Hooker, Nun, and Mrs. Clean. Eventually after 2 years she settled on Normal. I really liked Hooker.
