Beware of the back-door EPA effort to impose cap-and-trade on gasoline.
Sue-and-Settle is an abuse of the regulatory process that is frequently used by Big Green environmental groups to force implementation of costly new standards and regulations.Here's how it works: A group threatens to sue EPA over what it asserts to be a failure to issue rules required meet a statutory obligation. The group then meets with EPA in closed-door negotiations that result in a court-approved "settlement," in which EPA agrees to go through with the rules.
Of course, the particular rulemaking is usually one that the American people are vehemently against -- which is precisely why environmental groups prefer Sue-and-Settle: it occurs outside the legislative process, behind closed doors, with little or no participation from the very businesses and consumers who ultimately foot the bill.
60 such deals have occurred between 2009 and 2011. Can we defund the EPA now?

Presumably you mean 7mm Magnum. The .280 Remington has been referred to as the 7mm Remington Express, though I do not know if cartridges were ever packaged that way. The .280 is no laughing matter, as it is suitable for any N. American game. The 7mm mag is different, of course. I am now curious which ammo it is that you have seen.

Yeah, it was pretty sick, mpfs. And maybe I read it wrong, but I live in LA and if you are deriving some entertainment from a "street person," and they would like a couple of bucks, really, just give it to 'em. It's not fixed. As with ammo today, the prices are all over the board depending on location, availability, need, and a greed.
In the past two months it has been sold for under .10, to .20 in retail establishments. Over a 100% spread where I am.

There is no available fixed value. I think it depends on what you are trading for and what the person on the opposite side of the deal had to pay or barter for last time they acquired 22LR.
It has been an eye opener to me to see the barter dynamic in the past 6 months as I have traded ammo, guns and gear. Plus cash has greater value than barter...today. For instance I have seen items for sale where the cash sale value might be $500, but the trade value requires $600. In fact, it is routine and expected.
It's an apples, to oranges, to cranberries kind of exchange rate.

Its not lame, scared or in need of rescue, i bred it, helped its momma foal it out, named it, and had to sell her as a weanling due to the divorce, six years later shes coming home to her mom's stall. My brothers dog had to be put down recently. Shitzu father and Corgi mother! Despite several serious health realted issues, he never lost his happy go lucky/loving demeanor. We nicknamed him Teddybear and it was so accurate.

the .280 gets no love generally but it is a fine shooter.

oh yeah. we are introducing a pair of brothers to the two indoor cats what plays fetch. MO the boy was thrilled! MORE FRIENDS!!! Jellybean was NOT pleased with Tatertot at all. then she decided she didnt mind him, and was creeped out by big sturdy Cecil (shes a tiny thing hence the name Jellybean) its getting so theres no hissing any more but still spats and bouts of GET AWAY FROM ME YOU BIG CREEP! Shes not sleeping with me much while im awake, but will sneak onto my chest after i doze off and settle in for the night, Grim says. I wake up with her under my chin, but if i try to cuddle her she runs under the bed.

The Milk River and the St.Mary's River are the only rivers of any size that drain into the Missouri watershed. The Oldman, and rivers north of it ultimately drain into Hudson Bay. But the high rainfall conditions in the mountains and upper plains that precipitated this flooding episode may exist across the border in Montana, too.

I am just glad Friday is over. My drive to work was extra hazardous.
First some 18 year old punk tried to keep me from moving over in front of him. Then a lady almost pulled in front of me as I pulled into a parking lot. Then as I rounded a building a woman alomst hit me head on as she was driving on my side of the street! She actually was running her mouth at me as if it was my fault! Until I told her to go around me she just sat there.
The idiots failed to kill me and I live another day.

i have had some of mine live to be as old as 23. some died young of cancer due to that damn chinese gluten after the tainted food, but usally i dont worry for my babies till they are older than 16. Subject: Mechanical Keyboards
Anyone here have experience with this "what was old is now new, again" trend with gamers and computer workers ditching thier rubber membrane style of keyboards for those loud and "clanky" keyboards from the late1900's? Were they really much better for typing? I don't game at all but do program... and I do find myself pausing from time to time while I use my "laptop style" keyboard.

The .30-06 is capable of doing for any North American game when loaded with a solid / partition or similar 220gr. pill. This is the only distinction between it and its short-action cousin, the .308. Predator 2 is an all round good movie. Seriously overlooked. Bill Paxton, Gary Busey, Maria Conchita Alonso, Robert Davi... in an orgy of awesomeness. Don't care for Ed Morrissey, myself, and I mean personally because he and I had an exchange last year over the transformation of Hot Air into a Rick Santorum campaign site. Santorum may personally be a great guy--and is a great guy, according to those who know him--but he's a terrible national candidate, at least in my view, and I said so. Turns out Ed was not pleased. It also turns out Ed is something of a dick. He didn't ban me, though. So there's that. I don't get too worked up over Internet stuff.

The other 2 hours will be on SpeedTV's website. The LeMans 24 Hours is my favorite motorsport event. Its damn near my favorite sporting event. Fan boy silly shit off.

So, it finally occurred to me today that the Reagan amnesty actually is a case study in a lot of things about the proposed amnesty. Does anybody actually know what happened to the 1986 types? Saints? Shitbags? Some of each?
Is there any real data out there that is not just some slanted study made to prop up a preconceived point of view?

One thing we know about the 1986 amnesty recipients is this: at least 1/3 of them were liars and frauds.
How do we know that? The government itself admitted that the 1986 amnesty application process was rife with fraud (but said it was powerless to stop it). The government also admitted that 1/3 of the APPROVED amnesty applications were based on documents that appeared to be fraudulent.
That was 1986, long before everybody had access to a personal computer and Photoshop-type software. Just think how much worse it will be this time, with 10 times as many amnesty applicants, an amnesty bill that is deliberately written to encourage fraud, and an Obama administration that isn't even pretending it's going to look carefully at the applications.
