One of the Lesser Known Benefits of Nationalized Health Care

Is that you get to pay for sad girls having their breasticles enlarged to 36DD.

Would you be OK with your tax dollars going to provide big beautiful fake breasts to members of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee? Yes? Then you should move to jolly 'ol England! It all started when a chick named Josie Cunningham decided that she couldn't live with her tiny tits anymore. She wants to be a model and they tend to have larger udders than a 12 year old boy. But how is she going to pay for a £4800 surgery on a £9000 a year salary? Lucky for Josie, Great Britain has government sponsored healthcare. All she had to do was go to her doc and tell him that her small breasteses were making her depressed and before you can say "Kate Middleton Ain't Shaint Her Taint", Josie had brand spanking new 36 DD tits. Blimey!

Don't you understand - she was completely disabled by her lack of the boobehs. Luckily in the modern UK being poor doesn't keep you from getting the treatment you need in order to live wear a bikini.

Her doctor's prescription to counter the "emotional distress" was to enhance her breast size from a 32A to 36DD.

...Cunningham says her new boobs have changed her life and she "can't wait to do topless and swimsuit photo shoots and become the new Katie Price," notes Opposing View.
"I want the world to see the new me and I want money and fame just like Katie -and my new boobs can make it all happen," she added.

Dare to dream 36DD big!

uk36dd

But then in today's UK your boob-job will be paid for by the government but you're not allowed to fly in your military dress uniform on airlines lest you offend someone.

Alabama Democrat Explains His Views on Fellow Alabamans

He wasn't specific but I'm guessing he had the melanin-challenged mostly in mind here.

State Rep. Joe Mitchell, D-Mobile, had an outlandish exchange via email with a Jefferson County man who asked him and other lawmakers not to pass any laws that would restrict gun ownership.

Mitchell responded from his public, ALHouse.gov email account at 11:59 p.m., telling Maxwell: "Your folk never used all this sheit (sic) to protect my folk from your slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous, snaggle-toothed, backward-a**ed, inbreed (sic), imported criminal-minded kin folk."

Mitchell's spelling clearly needs work and he seems a bit confused about the meaning of the word imported as well as the fact that there isn't a special 2nd Amendment just for people of non-pallor.

Disability: The New Welfare

Nearly 5% of the entire US population are officially disabled and unable to work despite all our modern medical advances and ADA accommodations.

In the past three decades, the number of Americans who are on disability has skyrocketed. The rise has come even as medical advances have allowed many more people to remain on the job, and new laws have banned workplace discrimination against the disabled. Every month, 14 million people now get a disability check from the government.

The federal government spends more money each year on cash payments for disabled former workers than it spends on food stamps and welfare combined. Yet people relying on disability payments are often overlooked in discussions of the social safety net. People on federal disability do not work. Yet because they are not technically part of the labor force, they are not counted among the unemployed.

And no one wants to talk about it because then you're beating up on the 'disabled'.

Imam: U.S. Aid to Egypt Constitutes JizyaTax

Jizya tax is the special tax imposed on non-Muslims who live under Muslim rule according to the Qur'an and hadith. And when the Egyptians run out of hard currency and food in about a year we can impose our own you-made-your-bed-so-go-fuck-yourself jizya.

Older Flying Truck/Bomber Gets an Upgrade

The B-52s just keep flying and flying even as their technology gets better and better.

According to the Air Force, the new pods provide the aging airframe with a boost in capabilities. "This flight was the first time that the 2nd BW has used the sniper pod with live ordnance like the [Laser guided bomb]," said Allen. "This pod gives a faster response time to our targets. What would normally take me 30 to 40 button presses in five minutes now only takes me a few seconds to actually target and drop munitions."

Guys, Faking a Knife Attack to Impress Your Date Requires a Little Finesse

Twenty-six-year-old Tyler Siegel of Jonesboro, Arkansas, went all out to impress his date, but not with, like, flowers and a fancy dinner or something like that. Oh no. As a little end of the evening surprise, he arranged to have his friend pretend to be a criminal and attack the couple at knifepoint while strolling through a local park. Oh, yeah, because women really love those kinds of surprises!

You can probably guess that the fake attack didn't go all that well. His date ran off when the "attacker" appeared (imagine that!) losing a shoe, injuring her leg and calling the cops while Siegel stayed behind and pretended to fight the guy off. Siegel even went as far as to sustain real/fake injuries to the wrist and chest to make it all seem legit. The lengths this man went to woo!

Siegel's ruse failed to impress his date. Especially after police discovered that Siegel had orchestrated the whole thing.

Worse she found out and thinks he's a creepy loser who can't even stage a simple robbery.

The Wisconsin Dept. of Public Instruction runs an Americorp program called VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America). After a training session (now attributed to an un-named third party group), packets were handed out that were reported to include suggestions that aimed to shame children for being white More: http://politicalhat.com/?p=1750

69 Even when the government tries to do something right the screw it up. They passed a law over a decade ago that required those people who are qualified for medicaid or medicare who settled an injury claim , WC or Liabilty, to set aside a sufficient amount in escrow to cover any related future medical costs. They didn't try to implement it until about five years ago. The clusterfuck that they have now created probably costs more than the payments they are trying to avoid and it is clogging up settlements in the system because of the red tape requirements they have now mandated . Freaking double tards.

87 The potato is a staple that keeps us alive. It is totally unglamorous and underrated. It is also a conductor of electricity. You know that they teach you in science class how to make potatoes transmitters and potato radio receivers. They have all eyes around, yet see nothing.

92 Yes, I know this. What I don't know is why did the band size go from 32 to 36? Bags of saline don't change the size of your rib cage. Posted by: HeatherRadish™, Crankypants Extraordinaire at March 28, 2013 10:52 PM (hO8IJ) I think there's a typo there too. Cup size increase does NOT mean the width around the ribcage changed respective to the increased bust. Then again there seems to be all sorts of hullabaloo about women not wearing the right bra, because our means of measuring pretty much collapse consistently after about a C/D. My wife got sized out to a 36E after seeing a professional fitter. Years after trying to squeeze into 36DD bras, she found the answer to much of her fitting problems.

98 Hmm. I thought the diameter was across the boobehs, not the ribs.

Diameter across the boobehs is for determining cup size--that's what goes up when you get fake funbags.  Band size you measure under the boobehs, around the ribs--that shouldn't change unless you lose or gain non-boobeh weight.

When I lost weight in 2008-9, my band size went down, but the, er, volume stayed the same so the cup size increased.

206 For you CBD and elizabethe.

A pulp title generator spat up 'The Seventh Courtesan.'  MWR asked if that was like 'The Seventh Seal' so batted out the following.  Kinda blue in prose and Conan-esque.

"Sluggor cracked the Seventh Courtesan, who was named Moonlight Rain, to reach his ultimate goal. For he sought the Queen of the Courtesan Corps. If he conquered her, he would be forever famous and powerful. Thus when Moonlight Rain fell all was revealed for Sluggor. The multiple panels of fine silk in pastel shades and gold thread parted to reveal the Queen in her own boudoir. With a powerful stride and the sweat of recent sex dripping off him he went to claim his destiny. She had a body both voluptuous and sleek he could see, it was barely encased in pale pink silk and languidly laid out across silk pillows. Her face was veiled in rose colored silk so all Sluggor could see was the soft doe brown eyes pulling him forward. He reached her side and went to one knee, with a trembling hand Sluggor lifted the face veil away to kiss the Queen imagining soft lips that would welcome him.

That is when the screaming started. For the visage hidden under the rose colored veil was that of a hag with deep wrinkles and leathery skin. The soft as petal lips became those of chapped brown leather while the imagined pearl white teeth became the sharp teeth of a barracuda. Sluggor tried to break free but her arms had the strength of five men it seemed and they held him in place. As Sluggor fearfully shut his eyes at the approaching teeth all he could think of was the warning of the Wise Man of the Mountain he had consulted before embarking on this quest - 'Watch out boy she's a man-eater.' Then Sluggor knew nothing else of this world."

Posted by: EC at March 28, 2013 11:18 PM (doBIb)

I suspect that it would be actually (not apparently) skeevy if your wife were much younger and had just discovered how to manipulate men with her sexuality -- and capitalized on that in all of her interactions. That sort of loose cannon (and/or "loose woman") causes no end of trouble in society, and is rightly looked upon as someone who should feel shame....even if not actually giving congressional testimony about $3,000/year birth control.

By contrast, your wife seems quite happy to be beautiful in your eyes (and lens).

More purple prose than blue.

Blue is sexually explicit text.

Purple is over-wrought stuff that stacks adjectives and adverbs like a honking, smoking traffic jam outside a packed-to-rafters tea-house in the middle of colonial, red-district Hong Kong during a hot, rancid, moss-covered August with a windy, rainy, slippery monsoon bearing down on you.

Something about hoisting the black flag and begin slitting fries. On another note. I'm seriously depressed about my sub-porn star penis size. Either I need to go on disability for depression, or Barrycare needs to spring for some serious addadictome augmentation, so I can live the dream of a freakishly enlarged video sex-worker.

344 "330 Big discussion here about guilt--one of our local liberals was bleating about white guilt and our ongoing burden that we carry." I don't feel guilty. My people came to America from Germany after the Civil War was over and slaves were freed. As a matter of fact, as a descendant of Germans, I think I should be able to demand reparations from the Italians for keeping my ancestors as slaves.

345 Vis a vis white guilt--when I adopted my son from Guatemala, the social workers all wanted to know if I was aware of my white privilege and if I felt the requisite white guilt.

Um, no, nobody is paying for this adoption to the tune of 36K but me, myself and this second mortgage I'm taking out, and if I were so sure of my superiority as a white person, why would I be adopting a little brown baby from Guatemala?

Clearly, I didn't get the memo.

Bloody hell, my folks were here before the Revolutionary War, and I think I should be able to demand reparations for the affirmative action bullshit I have had to put up with for most of my natural life. That's how much white guilt I've got. Until I moved to the Lower 48, I don't think I even know that I WAS white. Racist bullshit, all of it.

384 man I was such a nerd

Hey man, I actually enjoy watching C-Span 2 and 3. Especially on weekend late nights. Often they'll be running an old tape of a tour through a 19th Century President's mansion or what not. Last weekend was Andrew Jackson's turn.

A few weeks ago, for whatever reason, they ran tape of a Montana University lecturer speaking on the moral and legal history in America of eugenics. Buck v. Bell and that sort of stuff. Thankfully (at least to me), he never brought politics into the discussion... and neither did his students, who had plenty of questions, except to mention that eugenic theories and studies were all the rage across the entire political spectrum from the late 1800s to about 1955 or so.

Anyway, interesting stuff. A lot of folks (men and women, but mostly women) were sterilized just as a part of various states' policy for an awfully long time. A lot of those laws were never really repealed, either... they're just either forgotten or completely ignored/unenforced today.

396 Slavery was the norm of human history for .. most of human history. If you read anything about ancient Greek and Roman times people are being taken as slaves all the damn time. You fought wars, you raped the women, you took slaves. That's just how life worked. It was only Christianity that convinced the European tribes to stop enslaving each other by convincing them they were all in the "christian" tribe together. And it took 1,000 years to convince the Europeans to stop. And then the New World was discovered and the local amerindian population died off from disease and they needed more labor and the African slave market was too tempting -- so they sailed over to Africa and out-bid the Arabs who'd been buying black slaves for 1000 years. (Muhammad was a slave-trader.) And now it's 2013 and the son of the Nigerian defense minister -- who's family sold the slaves to the Spanish, French, and English in the first place -- qualifies for racist Affirmative Action.

I am reading War of the World by Niall Ferguson, and I love it.  It is kind of an obvious thing post hoc, but I never pondered on the fact that for most of history racial mixing was no big deal, but only after the Endarkenment was it considered a Bad Thing (from about 1800 on).

407 It's also helpful to remind people that our very word for slavery is because Slavs were so regularly enslaved that their name came to mean slave. Also, sometimes he comes off quite the "Latino/Chicano Power!!1!" guy, but on the other hand, he was genuinely upset when a classic German-style bar at Old Town Village in Huntington Beach announced they were closing their doors for good a few weeks back. Lots of other stuff like that about him as well, like his most recent book, "Taco USA," about the history of Mexican food in the United States. By his own admission, Gustavo started off a complete cultural food snob... and now he says he appreciates everybody who serves anything like it, even Taco Bell. "Taco USA" also contains a fairly positive portrayal of Taco Bell's founder, Glen Bell, who before becoming a fast-food millionaire in the 1960s was an active-duty Marine.

436 logprof: believe it or not, read a certain way, "Taco USA" comes off (again, at least to me) as a celebration of American-style capitalism.

In "Taco USA," Gustavo talks a lot about how Americans of European ancestry "ripped off" genuine Mexican (and other Central/South American) recipes and food preparation traditions. It was a German-American guy named Gebhardt, for instance, who offered the first "chili powders" in grocery stores for sale; Gebhardt also sold a "Mexican food kit" early in the 20th century, along with a booklet of recipes, and ended up being one of the first to really popularize Mexican-style cuisine (which at the time was more often called "Spanish" food) in the USA.

Yet at the same time, Gustavo seems to accept that that's just the way business is done, everywhere. Everybody steals everything from everybody else. The entrepreneurial "winner" is often just the guy or gal who manged to capitalize on their "new" ideas the soonest and the most. Arellano appears to accept that, rather than rail against it in the book.

The legend I'm familiar with says the Margarita came out of a fashionable Mexican Pacific-Coast resort, with the original recipe being tequila, fresh-squeezed lime juice, and confectioner's sugar, all shaken over ice and then strained into the requisite salt-rimmed glass (specifically a highball glass, no ice).  If you've ever tried one that way, they're great.  In my opinion, it's the one true margarita - that frozen stuff is a pale imitation of a great drink.

My guidance counselor, a handicapped Mexican, would always talk about how I had an advantage over the others(white people). I finally told her that if my GPA wasn't good enough, then forget it. I didn't want special treatment. She damn near bad a stroke. By the way, my paternal grandfather's side has been traced all the way back to a female slave in South Carolina. She was impregnated my the slave owner's son...a few times, and now EVERYONE, white and black, get together for the annual family reunion. And no...no one owes me anything. I just wish people would stop with the race crap. I served my country proudly in the United States Navy and I have always referred to myself as an American. My skin color is irrelevant, at least to me.

497 489 De-lurking...

I can remember my senior year of high school (1989-90) when the "African American" thing was starting to be pushed. I was filling out my college applications and they all had "Black" on them. I didn't care.

501 Good to hear Be That Chick. Dumbest thing about the African-American hyphenated crap --- most black people have deeper roots in America than anyone else in America, including most whites. 95% of blacks are descendants of the founding slave populations. Which were pretty much all brought over before independence. Most white are much more recent and came with the big immigration waves a la Ellis Island. And most hispanics and asians are way more recent. The colonists, the slaves, and the amerindian tribes are the only ones who've been here since the beginning of America.

Civilian Marksmanship Program.  It was a congressionally created program for selling US Milsurp arms and ammo to civilians which went 501(c)3 in the '90s.  They still have Garands, but no more M1 Carbines, M1903s, or M1907s.  Their website explains it all: www.odcmp.com

Basically, if you meet their (easy) criteria for eligibility, if you send them the money, they will FedEx a Garand to your door.

And why you are a "meanie" for providing facts that contradict them, and why every political discussion is personal for them. If you challenge my monetary policy, you're challenging my monetary policy. If you challenge their monetary policy, you're calling them a bad person, and they respond in kind. 545 From the ODCMP website: "The CMP was created by the U.S. Congress as part of the 1903 War Department Appropriations Act. The original purpose was to provide civilians an opportunity to learn and practice marksmanship skills so they would be skilled marksmen if later called on to serve in the U.S. military." At least there's one govt program worth a shit that hasn't been canceled. Why in 1903 though? Teddy Roosevelt was president, so that might have something to do with it. But I did a quick search, and it seems that there was no such act until 1923. I could be wrong.

Emotion trumps logic for the LIVs, and the proglodytes can produce emotion in spades; Ace's brief essay on the topic earlier today being a great summary of the issue.  We face a great challenge in selling our message to the masses, in that many of them don't *want* to think, but can't help but *feel*.  I doubt many of us like it, but personalizing and emotionalizing appeals to conservative policies is necessary going forward.  The LIVs need sob-stories and success-stories with easily understood (by implication) lessons buried within.

551 It's very interesting to see the differences in form and function between the Russian-built Mosin 91/30, which was intended for peasants, and the Finn M39.  The Finns were hunters and shooters culturally, and it shows in the weapon.  The stocks are better, the sights are better, the barrels can't even be compared, and the trigger is far less dreadful (yet still very creepy compared to a Mauser k98 or '03).  The Russians built a rifle any idiot could use, get killed, and then have it be picked up by the next peasant who wasn't issued one.  The Finns, with their experience in the woods, actually killing what they aimed at, took captured Russian rifles and made them into weapons for individual marksmen.

Are potatoes worth it? They're so cheap and non-perishable, I have a hard time thinking it's worthwhile planting them.

Y-not,

Raised beds are good , but potatoes need more depth of soil.  You also need a bunch of organic material [composted Obama speeches] in the soil and the soil needs to be neutral to slightly acid.   I use tire towers like these:
http://tinyurl.com/yftvvty

You might want to give them a try.  And instead of digging to harvest, you just knock the towers over.   A lot easier.  I'm trying them for muskmelons this year too.

557 Like I want a G43 sniper or a WA-2000. Yeah, right.

Technically the 2000 isn't milsurp, kind of spy-surp.

It is probably because I'm a shitty shot, but, I've had no luck with the G43. Would like town one, just to have it, but the ones I've tried were a bitch to hit anything with on relatively rapid fire. Worse with the scope. OK on slow, but the k98 can do that better. Brilliant for shortish range on rapid, though.

The hams from Honeybaked Ham Co. are incredible - cooked perfectly, and ready for soup after the family is done eating it for dinner.  Bean and Ham, Split Pea and Ham, Soup X + Ham, etc.  Leftover ham and a hambone makes normally boring soups pretty awesome.

Posted by: StPatrick_TN at March 28, 2013 11:22 PM (un8zR)

559 Somebody should license the WA-2000 and make copies. It is probably average for top-end semi-auto rifles, but sexy as all get-out and then some. The G43 is not the most practical thing, but I think there are tuning/setup issues because I've seen very accurate ones. Can't afford either one anyway.

Any recommendations for 8mm Mauser ammo?  I have some Turk surplus that I've had several hang-fires with.  If there's better milsurp ammo out there, I'd like some - I'd hate to go pay top dollar for new manufacture Prvi if there's some milsurp out there that can be reliable and fly true.

Agreed.  You should be able to get very close to 0.75 gal.  If you miss a bit, the lawnmower / chainsaw / etc. will not know the difference.

You pay up front for sure, because the Honeybaked people aren't giving their stuff away easy, but if you cook with leftover ham / hambone, you'll appreciate it.  It's the best "for sale" ham I've ever eaten, and better than many of the homemade hams I've tried.  They have a great balance between the salty / smokey / sweet.  Please note that they do not produce traditional country ham, which is all salt and smoke.

Yeah. Once that's done, it's pretty much game over. You can still do it here, but it's not the same as over there. It's not that you get really hassled and not all that difficult to do. It is what it is. But, it makes it pretty hard to be of much use for SHTF type stuff or immediate threats. It's a slippery slope. The US has already entered that territory with MG and SMG bans. Next step semi's, then....

594 My brother worked at the Honeybaked Hams in Westlake Village, CA a few decades ago. He was in the bake doing the glazing with a blow torch. The air would be permeated with aerosolized sugar and so he was essentially sugar coated himself at the end of a shift. These days they'd probably supply cheap disposable Tyvek suits to work in but back then any protective gear was up to him. He rode a motorcycle then and had to used an old helmet lined with paper towels to get home and shower. Otherwise his good helmet would end up sugar coated on the inside.

Tomorrow I go over to Larry Niven's house and set up a web cam for an interview he has coming up with some UK venue. I fear the DSL at his place may not be up to the task. Downside of his ritzy neighborhood is the lack of good bandwidth. No cable option, either.

Jerry Pournelle and Greg Benford are suppose to be part of the interview, too. It may come down to who has the best bandwidth at their house.

Indeed, as much space is given to how the interpretation of history has changed as new data came to light.

I especially liked how it took a lot of situations that would have been used for racial ax grinding and saw that it was just humans being human. Past historians had to work with the information they had. They got some stuff wildly wrong but not from any dishonesty but because that is where the fact known appeared to point.

604 Finally got around to using up all of that Barnes and Noble credit I had piled up. They have a deal until the end of the month, that if you buy a Nook HD+ (9" tablet with 1080p display that is highly hackable) you get a Nook Simple Touch for free. So now my old first-gen Nook becomes lendable to my mother and sister, which actually makes my life easier since the are perpetually failing to return books to the library on time.

Now I'm just waiting for a good deal on a 64GB SDXC card to run the latest Cyanogen Android version. Eventually I hope my mother will get comfortable with the tablet so she can have something to take on long trips. The laptop is just too heavy for her.
