Pothole Crew Suspended for Fixing Pothole
Three County Cork road workers were returning from a job in Carrigaline, Ireland, when they saw a pothole. They stopped and repaired the pothole. A Health and Safety worker saw them, and the three men were consequently suspended from their jobs because they had not filed the proper paperwork for this particular pothole before repairing it.

Do Cub fans think that management really cares about wins and losses when the park is filled every game ?
Stop going to games, they will care.
Wrigley is not about baseball. It's about being seen there or telling people you've been there. 100+ years and still suckering people.

Best natural rivals for sports? I'd say London and Paris--but as far as I know there is no actual rivalry there outside the World Cup. But if we're talking American only, I'd say either New York-Boston or New York-Philly for natural rivalry, though Detroit-Chicago also belongs up there, along with LA-SF.

Cincinnati - Cleveland in football.
Cincinnati and St. Louis in baseball, although that's a very civil rivalry. I've sat near St. Louis Cardinal fans in Cincy a bunch of times, and it's always very polite and friendly. A couple of years ago, there was a family of Cardinal fans in front of us, and we had a good time talking baseball all through the game.
The Cubs fans are different. They're animals, like Grateful Dead groupies following their team around. They think the world owes them something. Sad, really.

Many centurys ago, I played with an amateur football team, and one night we ran into a qb that went on to the NFL. He wound up with the Steelers for a while, but drugs ruined him.
Guy by the name of Joe Gilliam, aka Jefferson Street Joe.
The guy shredded our secondary that night. Never saw such a fluid throwing motion or such accuracy before or since.
Had he been able to stay straight, I think he could easily have been a real winner.

Hey, I appreciate you liking my review. I really like the coat, especially in nyc; it is "cool" enough without being some urban hipster doofus coat.
I am a little, more than a little disappointed with the customer service. I have spent three times the original cost of the coat in waxings and repairs and it is disintegrating.
I think you are right about the fabric being the problem. I suspect the fabric allows water to get trapped between the fibers and eventually the fabric "rots."
Thanks again for liking the review.

PoliticalHat, these liberals nowadays are more or less shallow and braindead. I actually have a little bit of respect for liberals who can construct a logical argument and are willing to think about things like consistency of their position or long-term ramifications of what they propose. Instead, about 90% of liberals nowadays only advocate for things like the contraception mandate because (a) it helps Obama, (b) it hurts Republicans, (c) it's sticking it to the filthy dirty churches, especially those hayseed rednecks and those pedophile Catholic priests, and (d) because they just feeeeeeel entitled to free shit.
You should see some of the comments on Slate. I still remember when Slate used to be somewhat classy. Now it is just a slightly more pretentious version of Daily Kos. It really is Idiocracy in action.

That, unless your course of action, your policy, your creed, whatever the case may me, unless it can be proven to be effective 100 percent of the time, it should be abandoned.
Now, think on how completely idiotic this is.
They (the Left) are mainly using this argument as a buttress for gun control. See, the DA in Texas got killed. He had guns. His guns did not save him. Therefore, ban guns.
OK, now let us examine that same logistical application as regards other public policy.
Medicine. Unless you can cure a malady 100 percent of the time, with no side effects, the cure should be abandoned. This is absolutely ludicrous. Medical remedies which cure less than half of the subjects are routinely approved.
Taxes. Unless you can collect 100 percent of all the taxes owed by all of the tax cheats, you should abandon tax collection efforts. Again, ridiculous. The IRS and other state agencies routinely pursue tax collection from a very small percentage of cheaters, and the rest of us fall in to line.
Speeders on the freeway. Unless you can catch them all, you should not catch any. WHAT? Any of us freeway commuters know that you can catch about 10 percent of all speeders and have an effect on the speeding public, in that, they will slow down.
More examples from the Moron Horde? I know there must be many.
Logic. I wish more of us used it.

This is particularly annoying from lefties because none of their shit works, not even a little bit. Affirmative action? Promotes the unfit beyond their abilities. Head Start? Bazillions of dollars, worse than useless. Redistribution of results? -- breaks the feedback loop that encourages productive, worthy activities.....leading inevitably to suboptimal waste. Green power? Needs "instant-on" regular power as backup....which just so happens to bypass all the benefits of well-tuned regular power systems.
Their entire worldview is a humongous rust-bucket of FAIL, wrapped around vacuous "feel-good" slogans based on logical fallacies.....and then they set up "conservative" strawmen to refute those whose experience and talents have them going, "wait a second on that....."

Why are the streets not filled with people protesting a country that has WMD's and is threatening to use them against our homes. Is the brain death complete (rhetorical question only). Outrage would overwhelm the media's ability to express it if we put one mass murdering savage under duress, but it is totally okay with our brothers and sisters that someone is threatening to nuke us. Well good then, I hope they at least try. We need a serious wake up call. I guess communists don't want to talk bad about other communists.

On RT 9, which I traveled every day, they'd wait until the pothole got big enough to put an orange barrel in, then they would put the orange barrel in and consider it "fixed". There were some on RT 9 that had those orange barrels in them for over 9 months.

Even public shaming wasn't enough to move those fucking apparatchiks to do anything. It was really quite amazing how absolutely unresponsive liberal government can be to ordinary daily concerns.
There will be more and more of this in the future. People are gonna have to fix their own potholes if they want then fixed. With concrete being cheap, a few bags of that 4hr quickset and a 5gal pail of water can fix most pretty quick. Blitz strikes in the middle of the night when there's no traffic would have the road ready for morning rush hour.
$15 for a few bags of concrete and an hours time, or $2,000 in repairs to the front end of your car. Not a hard choice really.
