Meet The World's Most Beautiful Woman: Gwyenth Paltrow
So declares People magazine. I'd say that at best she's cute but hardly a world beauty. Hell she's only the 3rd best looking woman just on the magazine cover.
Given that she's super-wealthy and has no real job this is probably the best that science and teams of cosmetic technicians with nearly unlimited resources can do with her. And if I were an auditor I'd start looking for some large unexplained deposits in People magazine editors' bank accounts. And/or demand a piece of the next great shameless cover sell-out.
Oh and if you don't like Gwyneth, it's because you're lazy and jealous. Also and because you're American and hence stupid.
Also the Hollywood height chart. There sure are a lot of short people not named Danny Devito who are big in Hollywood. (click for full size)
Jonah Goldberg in the LA Times: 'Right wing' doesn't equal 'terrorist'
But terrorists by and large have more in common with the left.
As the Washington Examiner's Philip Klein recently noted, among the myriad reasons conservatives take offense at this idiotic knee-jerk slander is that the term "right wing" is also routinely used to describe mainstream Republicans such as Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney. I can exclusively report that neither of them celebrate Hitler's birthday.Every Muslim terrorist enjoys not just the presumption of innocence until proven guilty but the presumption that he's a fan of Ayn Rand.
Ah, but some would respond that "right wing" is different than "Muslim" because there's so much similarity between mainstream conservative ideology and the terror-filled creeds of the far right.
Except there isn't. Timothy McVeigh, an atheist, wasn't part of the conservative or libertarian movements. He wasn't even part of the militia movement. And what on Earth was right wing about the Columbine shootings?
In plenty of cases of multiple killings, from the Unabomber to Christopher Dorner, the perpetrators espoused views closer to the mainstream left's than McVeigh had to the mainstream right.
Islam - the prisoner's friend (and not because it brings remorse, redemption, and amends)
From a prison chaplain who happens to be a cousin of Bookworm:
It is not a contradiction to be a Muslim and a murderer, even a mass murderer. That is one reason why criminals "convert" to Islam in prison. They don't convert at all; they similarly [sic] remain the angry judgmental vicious beings they always have been. They simply add "religious" diatribes to their personal invective. Islam does not inspire a crisis of conscience, just inspirations to outrage.
Unshockingly James Holmes has supposedly become a Muslim convert in prison.
Gingers Now An Officially Protected Minority
At least in NYC since the police now are forbidden to profile or persecute gingers. No word on whether people with James Holmes-style orange hair can be profiled or not.
NYPD supervisors have been put on red alert: Don't discriminate against carrot-top cops! An anti-bias message went out this month to Manhattan sergeants and lieutenants, who were told that redhead harassment would not be tolerated."We're apparently victims now," said one cop with ginger locks. "We're protected from discrimination."
Red hair qualifies because people with that color are found in higher numbers in Britain and Ireland than elsewhere, according to the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Experts say it's 13 percent in Scotland and less than 1 percent in most countries in Asia, Africa and South America.
Patton Oswalt's Star Wars Filibuster From Parks And Rec
This has probably already appeared here but it's too geekily awesome to let it get overlooked. Supposedly a complete ad-lib by Oswalt.
After 34 Year Alien Toy Figures Finally Released
Now that the prime market for them back then are now middle-aged with much higher incomes.
Back in '79, Kenner inked a deal with 20th Century Fox to release a line of toys and action figures based on their new sci-fi film, Alien. That deal resulted in an awesome 18" figure of the titular xenomorph - a toy that bombed when parents found it too scary for their kids. Also, there was some controversy about making toys for children based on an R-rated horror film (collectible toys for adults was a market that didn't exist yet). Kenner reacted by cancelling their plans for a line of Alien action figures at the 3.75" size of their popular Star Wars line.
Well, after After 34 years, fans of the Alien franchise will finally be able get their hands on the abandoned toy line thanks to the folks at Super7. With the aid of collectors and toy industry employees, Super7 has acquired original reference material for the abandoned toy line from 1979 as well as 34-year-old prototypes and, with authorization by 20th Century Fox, the full series will be released this year with preorders beginning at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Also the infamous 'cunt punt' sorority girl has now resigned from her Delta Gamma chapter.

The fact that Islam made a religion out of desert nomad raiding culture (predatory behavior - attacking people and taking their stuff) and that such a religion (justifying acting as a criminal because Allah said it is good) is attractive to criminals is surprising exactly why?
Ignore the snark - there is an actual question in there that I would like the intellectuals to answer. Because I can see a lot of reasons to go either Full-Viking or Total-Rome.

oney's only 5-10. That's surprising. I would have thought he was easily over 6'. He must wear lifts cuz he never seems short in movies.
That's because they surround him with other midgets, and locate the camera at worm height.
Back in the day apparently Hollywood used to have door frames constructed to miniature scale to make gravitationally challenged actors look tall.

I'll give it a shot.
Prison culture / criminality is not so much "Islam" as Muhammadanism. "Muhammad", or whatever he was calling himself at the time, was an opportunistic bandit warlord. Islam is what has happened after many generations of Near Easterners and Central Asians tried to garnish Muhammad's turd sandwich.
Anyway, I just looked at Islam from a Christian or atheist perspective. What happens if I look at Orthodoxy / Catholicism from a Jewish or atheist perspective?
Orthodoxy / Catholicism has the same problem as Islam. That messiah was, if we look at primary sources (Synoptics) what we'd now call a Jewish liberal (NTTIATWWT). Jesus was big on throwing away one's life-savings to hobos. He also predicted the end of the world which obviously didn't happen in the 100s AD. And he said he was the messiah which (all except Christians and Muslims agree) he wasn't.

The irony is that they're joining a religion that's been fine with slavery up until ... well ... they're still fine with it (but under pressure have made some half-hearted steps to renounce it; Saudi Arabia only banned slavery in 1962, and that only as a formality). What puritanical??? As a gyno-American (sorry, heard that on a sitcom once and it slayed me), I have the same abhorrence for the "c" word that African-Americans have for the "n" word. It just fuckin' bugs me . . . And, unlike black folks, who I have heard time and again call each other (with affection) by the "n" word, I have never ever heard one woman call another woman the "c" word with anything but malice and contempt. So, fine. Judge away . . .

You know who is every bit as beautiful and shapely as dear Gwynnie? Sarah Jessica Parker. When did homely women with figures like a worn out ironing board become the "most beautiful" women in the world?
When gay men came to dominate media and fashion.
I like Gwyneth, but she's too damn skinny. That girl needs to be fed a cheeseburger or six.

I am also taller than all but four of the men on he Hollywood list. Also Robert Redford, who is a little shrimp with three mole things on his face (and weird, weird red-dyed hair as an old man. I am the only person on earth who reads his diatribes in his catalog, and they are usually whining about season changes and the government or end of earth due to global swarming). I actually saw him during my college days.
Little Redford, Napoleon complex, who cannot be much more than 5'4, came into a tire place in his hot little red Porche. I was a college girl getting my bike looked at, reading the newspaper and minding my own bidness, standing at the counter. This was pre-cell phone. He looked at me and was nervously using the garage phone (probably an illicit affair), acting like I was going to attack him and cut off his moles (I think he still has them and they are the ugly). I rolled my eyes at him, like, big deal, you are the Sundance Kid, I am ChristyBlinky.

When you're 20, the age range of women you would consider dating runs from about 17-23. When you're 30 it runs from about 17-35.
And when you're 50, the range expands to 35 to around 55 or so. However, hotness knows no age, and it ain't just looks either.

What an utter pile of bullshit.
The government has no business being in the healthcare beyond obligations to those serving in the military and veterans who incurred injury as a result of their service. I don't care how much of a tearjerker story someone has, there is no place in a truly free nation for government charity. It is a contradictory term because the funding is not voluntary.
Once you give a pass to one group the left will seek to expand that group little by little until it is quite large. And is simple infirmity due to old age sufficient to be considered high risk? Is, we're sitting on a time bomb as the portion of the population achieving ages that were once considered remarkable grows and grows.

I am watching a series called Grizzly Bear Stakeout. They go live in Alaska for 5 months and film bears closer than anyone has gotten before. Why? What's left to study about bears? They sell the films for profit - not science. All thy have is bear spray - no guns. A bear approaches and they get down on their knees. I'm not sure why.
All the bears look good - not like the mangy, smelly, covered in shit they really are. With any luck, somebody will get eaten.

Redhawks? I liked it better when they were the Redskins. The Miami name is after the Indian tribe that lived in that part of Ohio 2 centuries ago. The Miamis were part of the Delaware Indian nation, I think.

According to those officials, Dzokhar Tsarnaev told interrogators that the information that set in motion the series of events leading to Tamerlan’s death and Dzokhar’s apprehension came in a phone call from Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva to her husband. “She notified him and there certainly didn’t seem to be any notion of surprise – just a report that ‘you’re being watched,’” said one official with knowledge of the investigation. Tsarnaev had seen the photographs and videos distributed by the FBI on television and called her husband to give him a heads up.

Just eight days before three people were killed and more than 260 people were injured in the Boston Marathon bombing, a Ukrainian student was arrested in New Jersey carrying two homemade devices.
Rutgers student Mykyta Panasenko, 27, was arrested in Hoboken on April 7 aboard a NJ Transit train bound for Suffern, New York. He was carrying two improvised explosive devices, according to police.
Jersey City Police Deputy Chief Peter Nalbach said Thursday that authorities also found material at Panasenko's home ‘that may have been used to make an explosive device.’[...]
His arrest wasn't reported by authorities at the time, but became public after he appeared in Hudson County Court on Wednesday.
News of the arrest comes after revelations that the Tsarnaev brothers, the two suspects in the Boston bombings, had also planned to set off bombs in Manhattan

Although the arrest was made more than a week ago, it was not reported by authorities. The Jersey Journal learned about the incidents when Panasenko appeared in Central Judicial Processing court to hear the charges Wednesday.
Authorities also charged Panasenko with having two improvised explosive devises at 4 p.m. on April 7 aboard an NJ Transit train leaving Hoboken and bound for Suffern, N.Y., the complaint says.
Earlier this month the Jersey City Police Department's Bomb Squad responded to the home of Panasenko after getting information from the New York Police Department and the FBI, Jersey City Police Deputy Chief Peter Nalbach said this afternoon.
Inside the residence police found "materials that may have been used to make an explosive device," Nalbach said, adding that the information came from a tip provided by someone who knows Panasenko.
The complaint charging Panasenko with having explosive devices at his home was signed on April 15, the day of the Boston Marathon bombings, and the complaint charging him with having explosive devices on the train was signed on April 16.

The XDM Compact is big brother to what I just sold to a soldier, and had literally 7 other soldiers who wanted it. Bragg is an hour away. I am not sure why my listing was so popular, because I sold it for very little less than a new one can be had for, if you look hard enough. Springfield's have the same grip angle as a 1911. I love my Colt 1911.

Whatever he's actually referring to, he does it EVERY night.

In a Colt 1911, it's like a stroll on a spring day around the lake.
In a subcompact, it's like hitting a baseball bat against an iron pole.

Mouse scroll resolution.
No workie.
On two systems the scroll is a massive fustercluck. Touch the scroll lightly and you're down so far in the page time has warped around your computer. Scroll up, and a half of a line returns.
Awful. And I've tried some supposed Option line definition solutions. Again, no workie.

I have the Glock 36 which is a sub-compact .45. Shooting it is like having someone hit the end of it with a sledgehammer, I usually have to shift my grip after 3-4 shots. Not as bad as Range Partner's .454 Alaskan though.

9 mil is good in small frames, don't let the naysayers worry you. A hollowpoint 9mm will do the job just as well as a .45, the reason the military didn't like it is because they have to use a FMJ slug and the .45 does better with FMJ's.
ITC, I've not been to the range in a while *hangs head* but I'll be shooting these 50 when I get there. I got my shipment in also, so I have another 250 to load after I get some brass cleaned.

Rod Stewert is a shorty too. He came into the fine dining establishment I waited at during college w/his model girlfriend and he barley came up to her armpits.

I did not attempt to stand next to Mr. Steven Siegal when taking care of his son.
I'm 6'1" and I was still looking up at him during the entire of our exchanges in the E.R....that makes him 6'7" at the very least......."no Tom "Thumb" Cruise..
I should say.....

If she's 30, half that list should be crossed off by now. If she starts her own business, she'll never have time for the other half.

So does that mean we could see some REAL rain on the left coast this season?
Or do that mean we be sparing most of our water for some FUCKING little fish somewhere in the FUCKING Sacto Delta per the rulings from some FUCKING Law-DICKS in Santa Barbara.....OH!...

...or maybe even enablers/accomplices.
They both need to be on a no-fly list stat. We'll send'em back jr's remains after he gets the needle.

I posted here once that I found the word 'retarded' used in a post offensive. Three of our adopted children are, in the current vernacular, 'developmentally disabled.'
As their Dad, I rushed to condemn the use of a word because, in the heat of protecting these beautiful children from imagined ridicule, I overreacted.
I have long opposed the PC speech of others as an abomination. It was a hypocritical and a stupid thing for me to criticize another for using a common word, considering my view on PC anything.
All of you at the ONT have provided much comfort and many laughs to chase the black dog away on sleepless nights. It is a treat to be in the (mostly) silent company of such a honest and loving crew of morons.

And the warning went to a Border Patrol agent who sat on it.
If the border patrol won't even stop terrorists, I'm thinking garden variety illegals are out of the question.

GOOD ON YA THEN!!!
Seems High tide that we spank the wee fuckers across the face...HARD!!!
and often........OFTEN!!!....and then alittle CLAW RAKING down the chest plate...jus to draw BLOOD!!!....AND DO IT AGAIN!!!
Time we throw these fairy-cum-pussys into the fire.....and let them reap the blackness they own.......Let us STOMP them into ground where they dare stand and for once HEAL THIS LAND!!!
It is the TIME!! History will give us not another chance....this is our moment
fail now...we fail forever....and it is to our doom
maybe a bit dark.....yet, given the daily news...not that far off the mark.....
