Its his "fiance'" not his brother.  I loved how Probst called him out for faking his illness last time.  Probst has no respect for those that quit the game.  He is the nasty little shit that he comes off as I believe.  While his boyfriend seems almost normal.  No one was buying his little attempts at drama and so he gave up.  Can't  help but think that the only reason he came on this time was that he wanted to show off his engagement and stick it to all the straights.  Didn't get to do that, and he could run his little Total Drama Island so off he goes crying.

I don't know who most of them are really.  Honestly so far the only ones I liked are the blonde on redemption island and her husband.  I had liked Cullpepper but he soured on me this week.  I expect tribal flips to happen, not this coming week but the week after that.  I expect that they'll have it so that the families are still split but mix up the returning players and rookies.  Because without Colton there isn't going to be any drama on that tribe, so they will need to mix it up for conflict.

So can anyone splain to me why Moochelle has 2 more people on her staff than the Vice President, Joe Biden?  (26 vs 24)?  Also I've been to the White House.  It's really not that big.  How does Obama justify having 90 people on their personal staff (cleaners, cooks, etc.).  They are down to a "skeleton crew" of 15 right now because of shut down (which seems like plenty to me).  Also, here's the most egregious thing:  Obama's skeleton staff for the Executive Office has 10 more people than George W. Bush's entire Executive Office Staff!  During shut down, 440 out of over 1700 people are working now.  (I also noted in that same Politico article that all these people don't even all fit into the West Wing and the Eisenhower Building, so they are using "elegant townhouses across Pennsylvania Avenue"!  They are renting really nice space in a very high rent district just to contain all these morons!  So 440 for Barry's skeleton crew, vs 430 for Bush's entire Executive Staff!  Yet Mitt Romney was the out of touch rich elitest!

@195 Sure a Prime Minister in a majority government can basically enact any legislation they want. I can see why an Obamaphile would like that.
However, in a parliamentary system President shit for brain would be regularly subjected to hostile questions from people with no inclination or expectation toward the deference expected to be given a head of state. A prime minister is not above the fray and he cannot pretend to be.

So, some good news on this deployment, finally - I get out of here early.  Was originally scheduled to get home (or start heading home) Janaury 5.  Now I fly out of here November 30.  Will be home around December 11 or 12.  And then get 30 days of leave.  So I'll be off for Christmas and Bomber Jr's birthday. 

Only downside is I might get stuck in the Pentagon when I get back, but we'll deal with that sometime next year.

The difference is Catholics believe in the doctrine of transubstantation - that the bread distributed in Communion becomes, literally, the Body and Blood of Christ. As Flannery O'Connor said "If it was just a symbol, I'd say to hell with it."

 Protestants do believe it's a symbol, not literal - which is why Catholics don't really want you taking Communion at their masses.although of course nobody will stop you. The Reformation took place for a reason.

I'm Catholic - but I haven't been to confession for a dog's age, which is why I haven't taken Communion in a long time. I may be piss-poor at following the rules, but I respect the rules.

She went to Communion at a co-worker's funeral just because she "wanted to feel a part of things" not because she believes in the religion. One person cannot invalidate Communion for everyone else. The priest is not expected to magically "know" the religion or to be able to read the minds of anyone in the Communion line.

Yeah that would be me. I went to confession when i made my communion and confirmation, then went the week before I got married, and thats it. When I got into the booth for the confession before I got married I didn't know what to say. I told the priest I hadn't been to confession since I was 12, and asked if he had some kind of bundle deal. lol

You may go to communion but you won't receive the eucharist if you haven't received the sacrament.

If you believe its only a symbol then it is only a symbol, to you. 

Personally I don't mind anyone going to communion in solidarity.  My Priest doesn't either. At weddings and such all comers are welcome at the rail. As long as you are NOT coming up to make a mockery of it.

It's what gave me hope!  I drive to work past a "transitional" neighborhood (our hospital is in the hood).  The 2008 election, there were seas of Obama yard signs, and every car had an Obama bumper sticker.  The 2012 election, the signs were very few and far between, and there really weren't very many cars with the bumper stickers.  I foolishly thought that Romney (and our Repub governor candidate, Rob McKenna) might be able to actually pull it off.  Sadly, I was so wrong.  Election night, I felt like I was hit in the face with a shovel.

I mentioned this a couple days ago. An insurance salesman called Rush and said that he had people calling him thinking that they were going to get free health insurance. They didn't know that they were required to buy it.

This whole thing can blow up in the Democrats and also, importantly, in the MFM's faces.  They've been pimping this crap sandwich, trotting out numerous celebutards who tell the LIV's to "get covered".  With all the people telling the ill informed looters how fabulous and free Obamacare is, these losers are going to be extremely pissed off when they actually find out what is in the steaming crap sandwich that they greedily took.  The sad thing is that the rest of us are going to get screwed in the process.

I live in southeast King County, which is the part of King County that shall not be named by Seattle liberals, other than the evil that is republican Bellevue/Issaquah.

And my sister who works as an aide in a school said that union members are finding out that they will have to pay taxes on the health insurance they get for their job.

I believe the excise tax on premiums for the "Cadillac" plans is 40%, and it starts in 2018.  I have been sounding like a Cassandra for months, but I keep telling all my idiot liberal friends that they have no idea what's coming down the pike.  I've already seen Obamacare in action.  Our hospital has gotten dinged on the fine for patients that get re-admitted within a month or less after discharge.  Both of the ones on our service were not compliant with the prescribed regimen (one didn't do his wound care and got infected, the other one neglected to go to his dialysis appointments).  So we are already screwed, and patients aren't culpable at all.  Disgusting.  And don't even get me going on the fact that these mother effing Democrats didn't put any tort reform in this horrendous train wreck.  You cannot have meaningful health care reform in America without tort reform, it's as simple as that.

There's always politics.

That's actually already been happening.  The "best and brightest" use to go into medicine.  Now, not so much.  It's scary.  I look at the quality of residents we get now, and compared to those we got 10 years ago, I shudder.  These are going to be the people that are taking care of us as we age.  Yikes.  Plus the way that medical schools have changed, they don't work nearly as hard as they use to, which is also something that is seen more in their generation anyways.  We have a generation gap at work between the older and younger nurses.  It's bad.

I had a really good friend admit to me he was a fiscal conservative the other day. That is quite a large change from Hope and Change in 2008. He was in the same class with me in school and knew it was safe to admit to me (almost like a confessional) because I was the only one who didn't drink the Koolaid the first time around and saw Obama for what he was and admitted it to my fellow classmates. It was like I held up garlic to them like they were a pack of vampires.

Yep. I guess one of the reasons I feel driven to defend Catholicism is the experience my family had with their priest. He was very sociable, very gregarious and sometimes caused scandal among the hard-asses in the parish because he accepted invites from my parents and others to play cards at their homes. (They had regular card nights - gin rummy and sheep's head.) He accepted - and played and drank with them and overlooked it or said a silent Hail Mary if someone drank too much and said "Shit!" or told a dirty story. He didn't play for money or get shitfaced drunk - he just liked a good time.

And when my older brother and his wife wanted to adopt, he moved heaven and earth and helped them get two boys through Catholic social services. He was a strong opponent of abortion and helped many parishioners with adoption. He's been dead for 20 years now and no, nobody has ever accused him of being a kiddy diddler.

My husband's Yukon is approaching 300,000 miles.  He loves that POS.  It is also a working vehicle he takes on work sites.  Anyhow, we exchanged pieces of shit (my POS convertible).  He is so proud the Yukon has never needed new brakes (!!). 

Anyhow, I'm just grateful beyond measure our son was with me.  He has driven and worked on his vehicles in Afghanistan, and calmed me down.  If a piece had not been broken off, he could have repaired it with his dad's tool kit and we would have been on our way.

This was my second trip this week to try to bring the kid home from the Marines.  It took him 48 hours to get to Lejeune from Okinawa.  At least we both have a sense of humor (sort of).  And at least he hates Obama with the heat of a billion suns.

My sister feels the same way - something about how baseball, because of the 162 game season, can feel relaxed and intense at the same time. I listen to Bob Uecker all summer long and it's part of the daily routine. I can get excited about a close game in the 9th inning in April, but if the Brew Crew loses (which they did rather a lot of this past season), I can console myself, because - tomorrow's another game!

Somebody is conflating a Parliamentary system with proportional representation. P.R. is not a necessary part of a parliamentary government, although some do have it. Here in Canada, it is strictly "first past the post". Whichever candidate of the X number running for a given seat wins the largest number of votes is elected. Even if the "Bumfuckers For Allah" party win 11% of the popular vote nationwide, they don't get any seats in Parliament if none of their candidates won a plurality in their individual races. In a proportional representation system, the "B for A" nuts would get a few seats in Parliament, based on their popular vote tally. I think Germany, and maybe Israel work that way. Makes for a fractured Parliament, it does.

Yeah, I have a fuck ton of preamp tubes from vintage to current, so I was trying to put together some killer sounded sets for a few modded marshalls I have, which takes days by the time you swap and listen. Then I changed the tubes in a rocktron piranha thats sitting in my rack. Yanked the chinese pos's and stuck in some vintage GE's, which work killer in those things. I saved that for last because its a fucking pain.

For some reason this past month I shifter focus to amps. I'm thinking about a power move and grabbing a Mesa rectfier, and something Engl. Might have to sell off a guitar or 2. Some of these european metal bands are using tones that are just beginning to get out my range of tones I have here. I have some wickedly modded high gain marshalls that will blister paint, but no effects loops in those old mofos. After seeing the price of some of these newer amps, like $2300 for an engl powerball, or $3900 for a Fortin Natas I'm tempted to wire in some tube effects loops into the old heads. $3900 for a Natas....just damn.

A little background -- the expression "get your goat" comes from the common practice for race horses having a goat in their stall to hang out with and keep 'em company. So Niece Horse has a weird extension of this -- some prior owners mention that she thinks all the goats she sees are hers, when she's going back to Gushka.

Well, Gushka ain't puttin' up with goats on her property -- they cause trouble in a myriad of ways.....but Niece Horse is eying adjacent cattle and thinking, "maybe those fat goats will do...."
