Unintentional of course since they have layers of editors and fact-checkers.
With tiresome predictability, Alcohol Concern says this must all be done for the sake of "children." There is, it seems, no interference into adult pastimes that cannot be justified in the name of those who are prohibited from engaging in them. For the moral busybody, all the world is a crèche.

It is not true that the society in which he lived offered him no opportunity for personal betterment. Adebolajo was for a time a student at Greenwich University, graduation from which, whatever the real value of the education it offered him, would have improved his chances in the job market, especially in the public sector. But it was at the university that he encountered radical Islam, that ideology that simultaneously succours people with an existential grudge against the world and flatters their inflated and inflamed self-importance. It also successfully squares the adolescent circle: the need both to conform to a peer group and to rebel against society.
-- Theodore Dalrymple
I had forgotten about how much the left hates Reagan and even more - his Tear Down This Wall speech.
Before they hated Sarah Palin, or Dick Cheney, or Donald Rumsfeld, or Condoleeza Rice, or George W Bush, the Left hated Ronald Wilson Reagan. They hated and feared him - and not least for the way that he destroyed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in eight short years. It's not even that he did it; it's that he did it so apparently effortlessly. Reagan made his opponents look like chumps - which they were; I was on the other side during that decade, so I have some familiarity with the type - and he will not be forgiven for that until after his last opponent is dead in his bed of old age.
The End Result of 'Free' Healthcare
Britain's NHS has become so bad that people are paying out of pocket to go to a new private clinic that actually offers decent medical care and is open 7 days a week with no more than an hour wait.
Set up in 2008 by two Polish doctors, it has 6,000 Britons among the 30,000 patients on its books, all attracted by same-day GP and specialists' appointments that last half an hour and cost £70 - far less than rival private medical services. There are family visit appointments: three patients including children for £190, ultrasound scans for £70, injections at £30 a time and stitches done by a surgeon for £45.
The surgery's motto is 'put patients first' and Radek Przypis, the manager, says the reason his doctors are so busy is that the NHS services are 'so poor'.
The facts are indeed dismal. Two thirds of NHS patients now have to wait 48 hours or more for a GP's appointment and it is a rarity to find a local surgery open outside ordinary people's working hours.
In a few alarming cases, the particularly vulnerable sick and old have died in ambulances waiting outside in queues.
As a crisis of cash, bad management - and even the threat of entire hospital closures - engulfs our once-proud state health service, the sick are turning to casualty departments in desperation, and in increasing numbers, finding them over-stretched with waiting times of four hours for one in every 18 patients.
And the true goal of ObamaCare and most health care reforms revealed: It's a tax on the young and healthy.
The banning of catastrophic-only plans infuriates me the most. Those are the only plans that are actually financially sensible for a healthy individual to purchase. Everything else on the market is a perverse by-product of the employer-based insurance system.Worst case scenario with a catastrophic-only plan is you end up with $10,000 in debt. That's a debt load many times smaller than what the Federal government thinks students should take out to get a college degree. We'll let you borrow $100,000 to get a sociology degree but, we think that $10,000 is an unconscionable amount to pay for medical expenses? So unconscionable that we have to FORCE YOU to buy a plan with more extensive coverage?
Of course, we all know the real reason for this. it's meant to force healthy young people to subsidize healthcare for older sicker people. Just force them to pay more for insurance than they ought to, and force them to buy more extensive coverage than is rational.

The New Robert Deniro/John Travolta Film You'll Never See
Because apparently it's so horrible that only contractual obligations keep them from dumping all copies into the Marianas Trench.
Why wouldn't it get a proper release? Let us count the ways:From the director of Ghost Rider and Daredevil? Check.
Plot lifted from a direct-to-DVD Steven Seagal movie? Check.
Deniro playing a reclusive ex-military commando? Check.
A training montage in which he does half a sit up and three quarters of one pull-up? Check, check, and check.
Deniro with a Southern accent straight out of a high school production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas? Check.
John Travolta with an Amish beard and authentic Eastern European VillainT accent? Check, double check.
"Serbian death squad"? Check.
Two old bros just chilling in their rocking chairs, hanging out drinking Jäger from the bottle? Check.
A sound mix so bad you can't even understand the shitty dialog they're delivering?
Stiletto Heels Earn Their Name
A man stabbed to death with a stiletto high heel allegedly wielded by his girlfriend spent the last three and a half years as a top researcher in women's health issues at the University of Houston.
Professor Alf Stefan Andersson, 59, had been studying hormones in women's reproductive health since December 2009 at the university's Center for Nuclear Receptors and Cell Signaling.
...Andersson's girlfriend, Ana Lilia Trujillo, 44, was charged with murder.
Houston police were sent to a Museum District high-rise in the 1700 block of Hermann shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate reports of an assault in progress inside the victim's luxury condominium.
Trujillo answered the door and Andersson was found dead from multiple stab wounds to the head, Houston police said. HPD homicide detectives questioned Trujillo.
She admitted killing Andersson but said it was in self-defense because he had attacked her, said officials with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

I can vouch for the going to private clinic story re: free healthcare in UK. In Scotland, a country I love, upon arrival I had a plague caught on board plane and grown in petri dish of sinus. Granted, I was an alien in a foreign land. Helpful hotel told me to call NHS number. It was answered by a pleasant Scot lass who took my information. I am an old and cranky US nurse. I thought "wonderful! They triage over phone! Eleventy! She told me a "consultant" would be calling me. Great! Two hours later someone called me with four numbers for "public" health clinics (why they could not give me this with first call, do not know, but was polite American and desperate). I was told, however, as it was Friday I would probably not get in, but to not come to ER of hospital until after 6pm (I wonder now what would have happened if I had shown up? I guess I would have waited in hard plastic chair vs hotel room until the magic hour). I call the four numbers. Sho' nuff, all filled. Last person then told me of "private" clinic. They all, public and private, charge a flat fee for aliens like me. Private clinic doubled cost, but I did not care. I saw a doc who treated me for 1/2 hour. It cost, out of pocket, the equivalent of $300 US dollars. The medications were cheaper than here, however. Anyway, if you get sick in UK ask for private clinic and get it over with, as it will not be free. After I was told I was not going to die (although she did not hear "The Cough" of the century, which may have been SARS as it happened the next day and grew in phases), I went to a few castles in the cold rain and, hello! I was on vacation and no way staying in bed longer than half a day. We are hoping our insurance will cover a portion of the "out of network" expense. Message: do not get sick, ever, especially overseas. This lingers for a month, whatever "it" is and gave my son "walking pneumonia." We think it was some type of test of plague ships. I have antibodies!
Good night. Prepare for camps!

My son plays HS basketball with a young man with the last name Milford. Well, the team always screamed MILF when he got the ball and made plays. The mothers of the team, including Mrs Monkey too to screaming MILF whenever he got the ball as well. I explained to her what the Acronym stood for and she was HORRIFIED. Round about game 3 all the MILF screams from the stands stopped. I cannot believe that a group of 10 or 12 middle age mothers have never heard of this before. Gobsmacked.

It took three different abx to wipe this out. Doc here says Scot's doc did not have me on strong enough dosage...great, huh? Anyway, I had plans for the rx he gave me here but had to take it. Next time I am going to wear a mask like the Japanese tourists who I used to laugh at. No more! The air on a jet for nine hours is just like sticking your head in a port-o-potty and breathing deeply. Let's just say I did not date much in HS due to the wrestling matches and I did not have time for that. I stayed home and watched TV or read a book...and it was not for lack of being asked. #ChristyBlinkywasquitethesnobinherprime

Been thinking on this today....
Congress can Pass no Ex Post Facto Law. Now we normally think of that as they can't pass a Law after you do the deed, and hold you liable for it.
Now the question is, as Congress does NOT have a Constitutional Amnesty Power... how can they pass an Ex Post Facto law saying that those who already Broke the Law... did not?
Now... Illegal Aliens have already broken a Law... with an already Set Penalty...
Heck... the Supremes just said that you can't hold someone to New Sentencing Guidelines if they commited the crime before they were set....
So, how CAN Congress pass an Amnesty? or will they just not care about the Constitution, and call it a Tax?

If I lived till tomorrow it's gonna be a long time
For I'll reel and I'll fall and rise on codine
An' it's real, an' it's real, one more time
When I was a young man I learned not to care
Wild whiskey, confronted I often did swear
My mother and father said whiskey is a curse
But the fate of their baby is many times worse
An' it's real, an' it's real, one more time
You'll forget your woman, you'll forget about man
Try it just once, an' you'll try it again
It's sometimes you wonder and it's sometimes you think
That I'm a-living my life with abandon to drink
An' it's real, an' it's real, one more time
Stay away from the cities, stay away from the towns
Stay away from the men pushin' the codine around
Stay away from the stores where the remedy is found
I will live a few days as a slave to codine
An' it's real, an' it's real, one more time

In an university interview I think there was a question regarding "time management" for someone's thesis for graduate school in nursing. I was asked to draw a line for one minute, given a pencil and paper, and to let her know when the minute was up. Being the Redneck Queen from Mississippi, I thought, "Ok" and counted "one-Mississippi...to 60 Mississippi." The person interviewing me was blown away, y'all. I must have timed it 59.99999 seconds or something. She brought in other professors to look at my time! I was a genius! Possibly the only time in my life. My husband gets a kick out of this as I cannot find "x" if there is math involved, and "genius" is not typically what people think of about me. I was accepted by the university but ended up at another school due this one requiring "chemistry for nurses" when I had sweated bullets in pre-med chem and they would not waive it.
The end. 'night.

Saw the eyeball licking thing in the sidebar it reminded me of an odd Japanese teen couple I saw at the mall today. The guy had a floral satchel (it looked like a cut off pillowcase) slung across his back and the girl had farmer overall shorts and the highest heeled flip-flops I ever saw. Pretty sure they lick each other's eyeballs regularly, given their other PDAs I was subjected to.

Hello! This sounds like the plague from across the pond that we brought back here. Sorry! Expect to cough for a month in various stages. The first stage is "don't make me laugh broncho-spasm almost incontinent." Second stage is little kitty wheezes in upper bronchi and/or nasal trumpets that wake you from dead sleep. Third stage is the loose TB cough. Fourth stage is lingering productive cough. It is glorious! And I do hope you are ok as that shortness of breath is not good. Medically it is abbreviated as "SOB."

I have an official MSU cowbell. I have used it to celebrate outside and confuse neighbors...but not lately due to the Dark Ages of the regime. It is mostly used by sick people in house for emergencies in the night. Son's golden retriever also likes to ring it.

There's a book someone put out called "Cowbell Tales." I need to get a copy and see if mine made the cut. It's been through hell, most of which was incurred in the '91 season. It got flattened on one side during the Texas game.

Somehow I wanted some of these Tuscon pills. Disappointed to know it is a rx. Codeine works well for coughs. I have heard, but never tested (thank you, God) that Wild Turkey liquor---not plain ole Wild Turkey, is a good cough suppressant. It is in my liquor cabinet gathering dust for The End of Time, which may be sooner than I thought.

I am impressed.
Today husband showed me a bit from FOX's web site of "service dogs save people" or something. A 93 yr old woman, having a "bad parking incident" roared about 40mph in reverse down a sidewalk, turned a corner, and ended up over the curb. Fortunately the doggie heard granny coming, looked back, and the guy pushed all to safety from granny in reverse parking car. She went through an intersection and missed other lucky people. Due to the fact no one was injured I enjoyed the video and loved the doggie (yellow lab).

Yeah I heard that pitch, they look at education in terms of days not in term of hours, which were equal with every other advanced country.

Please forgive late reply, just got back from errands. I can believe the letters are wonderful, don't think I could stand to read them just now as even the picture was a little hard because that casual-but-constant contact is how John and I were.
Reagan's first wife apparently said she divorced him because he was boring, which I think is probably a much worse reflection on her than him.

Thank you. I was surprised at the memories of this song: First rock concert of my life, seen with my brother. He was two years younger than me, and played this song a lot. He died of a sudden stroke a year and a half ago. Odd how things can bring it all back. I had tears in my eyes listening and miss him so much. Glad I have the memories. He was a riot...all of my brothers are/were. But no one "got me" as much as this brother and my husband. Thanks again. I want this CD.

The weird thing was it came across diagonally. I was heading south on US1, the clouds were all to the west and crossed the road behind me. I had sunshine and cloudless skies ahead and to my left and nothing but dark clouds behind and to my right. And then the wind, holy fuck, that wind...glad it's over.

Although I agree with Nader this one time, I think he's full of shit. Frankly, this guy makes his living off of his personal holiness. As long as Nader is out there, the scum in Boulder have a person to "support" so they can prove how pure they are.
If Nader really believed that Obama didn't deserve to win, he would have put his name on the ballot again in 2012 (as he did in 2000). But, he didn't.

I always enjoyed Alice in Chains; they stood out because unlike other "grunge" bands, first and foremost they had the vocal harmony thing going on, and in addition, Jerry Cantrell was way ahead of the average Seattle mumbleshit in terms of guitar ability. They were able to craft some pretty songs / dirges, while their counterparts could not.

I'm one of those as well. It wouldn't surprise me to find that "gifted" kids who don't fit the mold (or outright reject it, whether consciously or otherwise), might do so because they're wired to believe in different things. Once I was aware enough of the world around me to start making value judgments, there was no question on which side I'd fall, and I can think of occasions prior where I telegraphed that future without (and unable to) explain why I picked one side over the other. My parents are reflex republicans in that they vote the way they feel they should, and knowing them as I do, they're correct in that, but they're certainly not the types to expound on first principles or anything like that.

To his credit, that's how he will be talked about on his way out. Flatbush Joe, if he was for real in NC car country, that investigation gets buried with Bloomquist. They don't piss on local heroes out that way. He raced cars, so unless there was some kind of serious dick-stickin' or gun-threatenin; they'll let him be, and any complainers will shut it down with no easy payday.

How'd it work out for you, having been told how special and different you were, on a social level in grade school? It made me no friends. That BS continued through Jr. High (or Middle School, in the South) with still no benefits. My family moved to TN before I started high school, and I was just a regular kid again. I played football (poorly), did some student council (not well-received) and otherwise was never treated as special. I think it helped - you know who else never tells me about how special I am? The man I work for whose primary interest is whether or not my team runs their machines as efficiently as possible, get trained as required, and keep their heads down. After all the special snowflake stuff (and there was some in college), it's good to live in a world with standards clearly marked and applicable to most everybody.

Plenty of good vids on the youtubes showing how to effectively practice while dry-firing. Also some neat tools - check out iSniper.com for a smartphone-based training program that looked good on ttag.com today. I've neglected my pistol skills (lame as they are) because I just enjoy rifles more. I need to get back in the swing of pistol shooting.

Why the .40? Seems like it can't accomplish the jobs of the smaller 9mm or larger .45, but does manage to do neither with a recoil impulse less pleasant than either.

Well partly b/c amo is still plentiful were I've stopped in IN OH WV VA NC and SC
I'd have to watch and see if the issue in time was recoil, posture, or overanalyzing the .45t ballistic envelope....
45 is an art....for flatter trajectory .357 sig is optimal IMHO...
.40 is good enough for LE I suppose and in a SHTF situation will be laying around
Posted by: Esteban 10077 at June 14, 2013 12:31 AM (6InpM)
I'm a 9mm guy, so I might as well announce that bias. Since .45 is no death ray, I'll take the extra capacity, especially with the advances in modern ammo available. That said, if it ever got ugly, it would be long-gun time. Big fan of .30-06 here, but coming to appreciate 6.5 Grendel as well.

Moon has again written of a world filled with elves, magic, treachery, honor, loyalty, love, and much courage. In the first trilogy her elves were as perfect as any other writer of the Alfar had made them. But like all other characters, they too have changed and shown more of their true selves in the new series. And there are still many more mysteries to be sussed out and I want the next book right now.

From a reloading standpoint I also think there's a lot of potential headspace to find good bore harmonics with your recipe....
.40 intrigues me from a tinkering standpoint
Posted by: Esteban 10077 at June 14, 2013 12:38 AM (6InpM)
Handloading introduces more variables...a true 10mm runs about like a S&W .41 mag, so you might get terminal ballistics akin to .357 mag from the .40....the question then is how quickly can you make follow-up shots as needed?

Had a quick chat with my across-the-street neighbor when he got home from work. He tells me that one guy he was talking to was full of conspiracy theories that we're going to get a currency haircut like Cyprus and that DHS was buying a bazillion rounds of ammo and giving 12,000 military personnel carriers to local police departments; another guy he knows who is an MP got odd "civil order control" documents -- normal ones have vague stuff like "identify yourself, call for everyone to be vigilant"....these had different stuff for East Coast cities and West Coast cities; he had a talk with an investment advisor who says that everyone is looking for places to put their money that the government won't hose; another guy he knows is going to gold.
Now, if it were me saying these things, that'd be one thing.....'cept, of course, we're not going to do a Cyprus -- we're all headed towards more of an Argentina; we shouldn't go for gold, 'cause it's already been illegal to hold in the previous century (May 1, 1933 - Dec 31, 1974 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102 ); the bazillion rounds of ammo thing has been significantly debunked; and I'm a CPA -- it's ALWAYS been about putting money in places that the government won't hose. But this is my neighbor.

That's what I've seen, which is not surprising, since it's a necked-up 6mm PPC. There's plenty of people using it to take deer with non-target bullets, but at normal ranges. The crazy supersonic distances are being done with SMKs and Hornady A-Max, IIRC, all by long range competitors. It's mostly a target round, but I think a handloader could find useful projectiles for it which would make it a clean hunting round for whitetail-sized game and below.

There should be a Murphy switch, that will shut off the compressor if the refrigerant level gets too low.
Check your local auto supply stores. Most of them should have kits for sale, a can of refrigerant, CFC-134a, and a charging hose, for about $20. Takes about ten minutes to add it to the system. You may also find kits that contain a blended hydrocarbon refrigerant, but if your system still has some CFC-134a in it, that's what you should top up with.

Now we've got this little gem from Bloomberg News:
Thousands of firms are in bed with Big Brother at the NSA. In exchange for letting the US govt have "special access", they get all sort of perks. Note Microsoft is a big player.
Those who alleged that the spooks had "moles" inside the tech companies whose job was to make sure the US govt. had its own little special doors to their systems look to be correct now.
I'm now going to assume my Linksys router has a backdoor in it for the NSA, as well as Windows, and the firewall software I run. Mac OS probably does as well.
Only question is Linux, but it wouldn't surprise me if they compromised them as well via hook or crook.

Possibly or it *could* be Nomonhan....
I think we will be playing the part of Fwance 1940 though....
I have a hard decision to make on loyalty to a nation that has allowed its military to be subverted to Radical Islam's chief enabler
Posted by: sven10077 at June 14, 2013 01:43 AM (6InpM)
I don't see it as a Nomonhan -- Nomonhan had actual Japs and actual Russkies fighting in a border area between a Japanese territory (Manchukuo) and a Russian territory (Mongolia).
By contrast, the Spanish Civil War had actual on-the-ground protagonists (Republicans [previous government] and Nationalists [rebels]) -- who were being supported by the Soviets and Nazis respectively, but not through mass involvement of Soviet or Nazi troops (the Nazis sent 16000 over the three years, though no more than 10000 at once; the Russians had 2000-3000 "advisers", with no more than 500 troops at a time). [Numbers from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Civil_War ]
And, it should be noted, both sides purged the crap out of civilians as they jockeyed for position during each of the three years this hot mess lasted.

It all comes down to the same thing, over and over and over and over -- democracy, open borders, government gimmes.....pick any two.
If people come here to work under our system or starve, we prosper as a nation to the point where damned few will starve.....and many will prosper. If people vote for a government with equal opportunities, the clever and industrious will prosper and so will the nation. If government supports the fallen and assists the afflicted, we can all more readily bounce back from tragedies and succeed as a country.
But when you put the three of those together, it becomes a toxic brew where floods of people worse off than citizens will roll into the country, power will be given to their wants, and the nation will be looted in a vain attempt to give what was built to those who didn't build it.

One, an average person will not be able to afford to go to the doctor, what with the $321 monthly individual premium and an average $200 per month in deductibles.
Two, the penalty for not getting insurance is ONLY $95 per year, or 1% of their income.
The middle class is getting seriously fucked.

Depends on why they're refugees. If it's because they're sharp businessmen that are going to be looted by incoming thugs, c'mon over! If they're Sunnis that are going to get shivved by Shi'ites -- move to Saudi Arabia. Shi'ites about to get shivved by Sunnis -- move to Iran. Alawites fearing revenge -- move to Paris, you've spent so much time shopping there you already know the street layout. Weapons specialists? -- you don't want to start over and learn a new flavor, move to another Russian satellite. Chemical weapon expert? Hey, you're Iraqi anyway! Why are you even here?

Sorry wasn't trying to confuse...the nation has at most 30 years under the current system IMHO
The GOP is handed several scandals bigger than Watergate and says "golly we need to pass amnesty and obliterate our base"
Fuck all DC but maybe 20 guys

The population of the US is about 316 million. If there were a button in libraries, police stations, and city halls around the country, where people could vote to send every man, woman, and child in Washington DC to Mars.....what would be the chance that there wouldn't be a hundred million NET votes in favor?
I'm working under the theory that the Library of Congress, National Archives, and Smithsonian are "cultural shields" in the exact same way that Saddam Hussein would use children as "human shields" -- otherwise "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. ItÂ’s the only way to be sure" would be too popular.

At some point you have to look at all the government's violations of the Constitution, the document which gives them permission to exist, and recognize that they are nothing more than highwaymen with exactly the rights that status affords.

From the Bloomberg article:
[Microsoft], the worldÂ’s largest software company, provides intelligence agencies with information about bugs in its popular software before it publicly releases a fix, according to two people familiar with the process. That information can be used to protect government computers and to access the computers of terrorists or military foes.
Redmond, Washington-based [Microsoft] and other software or Internet security companies have been aware that this type of early alert allowed the U.S. to exploit vulnerabilities in software sold to foreign governments, according to two U.S. officials. Microsoft doesnÂ’t ask and canÂ’t be told how the government uses such tip-offs, said the officials, who asked not to be identified because the matter is confidential.

So, the full NC arc....there was this NC project, and the BH geared-up and went there to execute it last year. And she worked her tuchis off to do it, but it got torpedo'd at the last minute by corporate.
Then, it turns out, there was a misunderstanding that had killed it. So it was back again this year.....and the BH went back to do stuff she'd previously done before and after work she'd go back to her hotel and watch videos and generally figure that NC sucked.
Thing is, if you were forced to go to Disneyland and repeat the worst parts of what you did unsuccessfully last year, you'd probably start thinking that Disneyland sucked. So I went out there and put 2500 miles on a rental car in 10 days finding out about interesting things in NC (and part of TN). Met up with St Patrick in TN and Beckoning Chasm. Did a weekend in Asheville. Did Lexington Barbeque.
Now, the BH is sending other people there and she's a fan. She's suggesting things for their weekends, and has Lexington BBQ t-shirts, and knows shopping places....
But I'm kind o' bummed -- I had 25 pounds of events, places, news, and info that I tried to ship back via USPS, and they managed to separate the label from the package. Then, to make it worse, the SD card for my camera went unreadable while I was fumbling to turn it on-and-off-again.
So the goal of acclimating the BH to NC did OK, but any real research into NC is still churning.
Oh, and she managed to bag a dinner with NCref, who had been very helpful in providing orientation last year. MoronNet -- "you want the skinny?"

I've enjoyed NC the time that I've been here. FWIW, we just got another pretty significant piece of gun-friendly legislation through the state senate. Back to the house to OK the changes (not expectiong any problems with that) then on to Gov. McCrory for his signature. We're planning a big party on October 1st when the law goes into effect.

It's all about what you don't like. Don't like socialist hellholes? You've got about 40 states notably better than CA. Don't like cold? Ooooh....that's trickier. Don't like tornadoes? Er, there's a map for that. Hurricanes, likewise.
Fact is, California is paradise, except for two things -- government and earthquakes. Everywhere else is not paradise, but doesn't have earthquakes and has better government. Where do you draw the line?

I don't know if this is an advantage or a liability on my part, but I don't have deep roots anywhere. I was born in Cedar Rapids IA and raised in Clarinda IA, but left there when I was 18 to join the Navy and since then the longest I've stayed in one place (before now) was about 5 years or so. I've been here for 7, and as soon as Youngest Son graduates and gets the fuck outta my house I'm selling the place and moving on. Don't know where yet.
That's how I got divorced BTW, the first wife hated the Navy more than she loved me. It wouldn't work out for us now any better, she wanted something settled and I get itchy feet.

It's going to sound odd to most 'rons, but the thing that really clips my wings is snow. I'm 50 years old, and I've never seen snow fall. I've seen it on the ground when I woke up, but it was always gone by afternoon. I've never shoveled it; I've never drove on it; I've never had pipes freeze and burst; I've never walked on iced-over sidewalks; I've never hit a patch of black ice on the road.
There is a lot of the country where I'd otherwise feel comfortable hoisting a pint with folks or putting in roots that is just too damned cold. Everyone talks about the south being hot and muggy, but a bunch of it is too damned cold as well.
