News You Can Use: How To Ask For Beer in Europe
An article at the American Spectator by Daniel Flynn that tries (too hard IMO) to draw parallel between Martin and Zimmerman as boy-men missing male role models.
Zimmerman's screams and Trayvon slamming Zimmerman's head into the concrete weren't the acts of men. A man is neither a woman nor an animal. The proper response to an assault by a 158-pound teenager isn't to scream for help or grab for a gun. It is to punch back or better yet subdue and issue a spanking. And a sucker punch, the repeated hitting of a downed opponent, and the bashing of a skull against the concrete doesn't pass muster with the Marquess of Queensberry. Perhaps the "No Holds Barred Fighting" dojo that Zimmerman had signed up for would approve.
Their households lacked strong male role models; their society, even more so.
Eh - I'm not convinced that Zimmerman really fits Flynn's glib thesis.
Explaining Eliot Spitzer - He's Crazy
John Podhoretz recounts a personal experience with Eliot Spitzer:
His behavior was so glaringly inappropriate, so tonally deaf and such a weird assault for a man who had supposedly been humbled as he had been humbled, that I figured something out I had not understood until that moment: Eliot Spitzer is nuts.
I don't mean he's nuts in a tinfoil-hat sense. I mean that he doesn't respond to reality in a normal way, and therefore misjudges reality and himself.
Plus he has a long history of lying and inappropriate conduct:
One night, Spitzer called me at home. My wife answered and said I was in the shower. He screamed to get me on the phone. She brought it over and I turned off the water. As I stood there dripping wet, the attorney general then screamed at me: "You can't say this about me!" I tried to calm him down, but he kept screaming. I said it was inappropriate to call me at home - I didn't call him at home, but he kept screaming. I said that he was now a public official and had to get accustomed to criticism because there surely was going to be more. He kept screaming.
I said goodbye and went back to my shower.
School Shooters
We associate school shooters with young boys but for a long time most of them were girls. Such as Brenda Ann Spencer (1979) and Laurie Dann (198
. Needless to say both were mentally ill.
Okay no problem.
Computer Glitches, Smokers, and Obamacare
Dr. Gwyneth Paltrow Says Tanning Is Totally Safe
"We're human beings and the sun is the sun - how can it be bad for you? I think we should all get sun and fresh air. I don't think anything that is natural can be bad for you - it's really good to have at least 15 minutes of sun a day."
Well we do need a certain amount of sun to maintain adequate vitamin D levels (which is far more critical than most people think) but as usual Paltrow believes so many dumb things that she occasionally comes up with a valid conclusion but for the wrong reasons.

The article is worthless. It's the kind of shit you'd read in some "alpha male" blog run by douchebags, which judging by Mr. Flynn's website, he is.

Yes, if we were already full zombie-apocalypse, and there were no guns in sight, and the sides were equal - then the Trojan-War rules of single combat might apply. But in this case we had a line of defence against barbarism, which was manned by Zimmerman; and a barbarian, who was Martin.
I think some people on the furthest right are too keen for that Heroic Age. Well, we're not supposed to be living in a Heroic Age. We're supposed to be living in a civilised age. And in a civilised age, the barbarians don't get into the gates and, when they do get in, they get educated in civilised behavior or else escorted out.

Judging by his bio, he was in the Marines from 1994 to 2002. You know, the peacetime years. He learned just enough to think that he knows more than he actually does, would be my guess. That and probably a few bar fights with his buddies to back him up.

Question of the night: If Star Wars is so awesome, why are all the Star Wars video games duds?
For a long time Star Wars games were good. X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Rebel Assault, Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, and Knights of the Old Republic were all very fun games. The problem is that once we got to the prequels, George Lucas turned the universe to shit and focused on games for little kids.

A martial arts question for y'all, from someone who reads a lot about historic martial arts but hasn't been in a serious fight:
A bunch of folks have pointed out that someone in the position Zimmermann found himself in, pinned down on his back with Martin punching his face from above, can't deliver an effective punch. Could he reach up and grab at his opponent's head, and either pull it down to where he could get his teeth into play or dig his thumbs into his opponents eyes? Is the need to protect the head so overwhelming that no offensive action is possible?

Zimmerman was carrying a gun, which was meant for spotting thugs at 20 yards and keeping them at bay; but, in this case, was at his side, since Martin jumped him first. And Martin, IIRC, knew that the gun was there.

There may be those options mentioned. But they require the need to have trained enough that muscle memory kicks in after the first blow to the head for that to be viable.

Not as easy as you'd think even without someone punching you in the face.
Posted by: Colorado Alex at July 14, 2013 06:28 PM (lr3d7)
You have to be an experienced fighter/wrestler to fight in the guard position. Royce Gracie would literally lie on his back and invite his opponent to jump on him. From the guard (the bottom) Gracie would wait for his opponent to throw strikes and catch a wrist or arm to apply a painful lock.
But most people can't do that.
Posted by: Soothsayer, a.k.a. hose-b at July 14, 2013 06:28 PM (LVtr+)
Yeah . . . .
That's kinda tough to do when some dude who's younger and bigger than you are is straddling you, pounding your skull into the concrete in a pretty obvious effort to kill you or at least cause you grievous bodily harm.
Or maybe you're referring to the call Zimmerman didn't make to 911? Oh, wait, Zimmerman DID call 911 . . .
Martin would be alive today if he would have just gone home rather than seek out a confrontation with Zimmerman. Period. This is a fact in evidence, and is not in dispute.
Zimmerman was Not Guilty. Period. This is also a fact, as judged by a jury of his peers, after all the available evidence was laid before them.
Posted by: filbert at July 14, 2013 06:28 PM (7vimm)
If you were gutsy you could have headbutted your opponent into submission. I mean, realistically GZ had lots of options, but the real problem is training. You can't think like you're thinking during a fight, and for you to do a move effectively you have to be trained so the muscle memory works. Unless you train headbutting people, the chances of an ordinary person both responding with a headbutt and that headbutt being effective in that position are slim.
The gun truly makes men equal.

Doesn't square with my understanding.
GZ says that when TM first came up to him, he started to fumble in his pocket for his phone. When he looked down. TM nailed him straight in the nose with a punch. From the front.
I'm not sure GZ has given an adequate account of what happened right after that, in terms of how the fight went to the ground, and frankly, he may not be able to, due to inability to remember accurately.
For those of you who have not ever soaked up a full force punch right in the nose, with muscle behind it, it's instantly disorienting and extremely painful. The overwhelming instinct is to immediately reach up to the hurt nose with one's hands, which of course means those hands aren't blocking additional incoming punches or punching back. Instant disadvantage. Very bad place to be. (Been there. Done that. Don't want to try it again.)
I said the other day that it showed major tactical stupid on GZ's part to go out in the dark and the rain after an unknown possible hostile without a serious flashlight in his hands. Not least because it would have been a lot harder for TM to throw that first punch accurately after being flashdazzled and losing his dark-adapted vision. It's a cheap, legal, nonlethal way to give you a defensive edge when bad things happen after nightfall.

The real driver for the legalization of criminal aliens is that many businesses operate in such a manner and with such requirements that if they did not have the threat of immediate termination, they would not be able to operate.
These businesses are usually those who have dirty, dangerous or otherwise distasteful environments. On top of which they also make physical demands (few or no bathroom breaks, no or short rest breaks, no or short food breaks) and have abusive and sometimes violent supervisors.
They know they would not be able to retain legal citizen workers and would also risk being informed on to the relevant State or Federal Agency for violation of job site rules and safety.
They LIKE having ignorant, frightened and compliant workers who have low monetary requirements. Their requirements are low because they also live in substandard housing or crowd in with dozens of others (also a local or state crime). These conditions also would be revealed or eliminated if the illegal workers were not there to be taken advantage of.
This, I believe, is the impetus for the Pubs embrace of immigration amnesty and a refusal to pass laws that actually would limit or stop illegal immigrants.
It's a Big Business folks.
The employers, the landlords, the check cashing stores.
And to be fair, the American Consumer.
The insistent drive to have goods and services at the lowest cost is what drives the entire buggy.

What the fuck are you talking about? Zimmerman called for help while on the ground, we have the recordings and his own testimony. I was responding to douchebag Flynn's argument that calling for help was somehow unmanly. It's not. Calling for help was exactly the correct thing to do. The problem was that the people who heard his calls chose not to intervene. If they had, then they would likely have interrupted the fight and TM would be alive.
No where did I blame GZ for anything.

That was a stupid argument by the state IMO. Too many variables come into play. Raining that night and the ground was wet, Martin's legs could have been spread quite wide due to the slick grass and Zimmerman would have had all the room needed to pull a small pistol out from an inside the waistband holster. Lots of other possibilities too.

If you ever find yourself on your back taking punches, resist your natural urge to roll over. NEVER give your opponent your neck; he'll choke you out in 2 seconds.
Your better off staying on your back, staying calm (to save energy), and use your back and legs to wriggle free. The best thing an inexperienced fighter can do is your attacker's clothes against him. Grab his shirt and pull him down.

What makes you say that? Several of them were critical favorites and sold quite well. Has the franchise been overused? Sure but there are a lot of gamers who'd be very happy to see something as good as Tie Fighter again.

Screw that noise. I don't care if all the watchmen are, literally, The Watchmen. I just want them to be good enough to protect the area.
Zimmerman did good enough, up to the point when Martin decided he wanted a free gun and some thug cred.

Oh, the usual. Not reading all the thread comments, and having had just about enough of discussions elsewhere on the Internet second-guessing Zimmerman and thereby subtly (or not-so-subtly) implying that "yeah, the jury said 'not guilty' but actually . . ."
That's all. I don't usually have quite that sensitive a hair trigger.

Does anyone know what the final opinion was of how close TrayTable was to home before going back to confront Zimmerman?
I get the feeling, from a map if the proposed routes, that he was within 10 yards of his father's girlfriend's door, but I'm not sure.
Did they ever find the skittles and ice tea? If they weren't close by when he was killed that is a pretty good indication that he did in fact make it home before returning to confront Zimmerman. That might be why his 12 yo cousin didn't react when the police arrived at the scene - he knew that Trayvon had gone out to pick a fight and didn't want to get involved.

Second this, and also would add this whole story is a sad result of the attitude of many CCW holders to merely be comfortable firing their weapon while mostly or completely ignoring physical fitness and MMA training. If Zimmerman was able to kick Trayvon's ass, he wouldn't be in this situation right now.
Here's where I have a problem. Learning hand to hand training is good, but it should never been seen as a substitution for your pistol. There's no such thing as a non-lethal fight, only fights that don't get to that point. If you want to learn MMA, do so with the intention of protecting yourself long enough to get to your gun.

Also, a tough training course should be mandatory for anyone who wishes to carry concealed, and that course should include a Tueller drill.
Only a few CCWs seem to understand how an assailant making a fast sprint from a short distance will get them before they can clear leather. And how BIG the circle of danger really is.
(TM didn't do this to GZ, but could easily have done so. GZ lost situational awareness, failed to check six and didn't have his hand on his pistol. In that circumstance, a Tueller type assault will almost always work. Most criminal assailants won't bother to ask an opening question, the way TM did, before they hit you. They'll just hit you for starters without saying a thing. From behind if they can.)
This is why it's important to agitate not only for concealed carry rights, but for open carry rights. There are plenty of perps who will happily attempt a prison-yard-rush on a woman walking across a parking lot with her car keys but no weapon in sight. Same woman with car keys in one hand and a pistol visible in the other? Eh, not so much.

Since this is the road you want to go down. Tell me the percentage of people that are casing a place to rob turn around and confront a possible witness? There was no reason for a neighborhood watch guy to think this scenario was likely. He had already called 911 and the police were on the way he wasn't thinking I'm gonna pin this guy down for the cops. He was likely thinking the more info I have on what house or which way the suspect went that will be helpful.

It wasn't the action itself that sucked or was annoying, it was the interface.
I stopped early on after so many were difficult to get used to or had story lines that I couldn't get into or interrupted the flow of the game.
Too many game makers (especially early on) seemed to have the idea that the point of the game was to beat the player and make them feel stupid. Whereas I've always felt that a game should be FUN and not a character building exercise. For those who get bored, that's why there's levels of play.
But then I guess I'm uncoordinated. Still it's a bad business decision to piss off the potential buyers of your NEXT game. Which is what happened to me, I stopped buying Star Wars games because LucasArts sucked.

Back in the 80s I was working at a game company called Cinemaware. Disney was going all over trying to get a company to produce a Roger Rabbit game in a ridiculously short time frame of a few months. (Although one of my co-workers, Peter Kaminski, had pulled a rabbit out of a hat by doing a pretty good C64 Aliens game for Activision in a remarkably short time but that was a much simpler project in another era.) Disney had no concept of what went into a game, especially something that was going to do justice to the movie in question.
After every company worth mentioning turned them down, Disney started its own Buena Vista Games operation. The game didn't ship until over a year after the movie came out and was horribly unplayable. It was a nice demo of what the Amiga could do but everything you did resulted in a glacially slow loading period. It was impossible to get the hang of the gameplay because you could die within seconds of gaining any input control and then wait so long you never had any reflexes acquired.
That was an extreme case but in general the problem of doing a good movie tie-in is the lack of the game devs having any chance to do something interesting rather than just replaying the movie.
It's a bit better with a TV show like Spongebob Squarepants. There have been several good games based on that show.

The H1 stuff is big business wanting smart but cheap labor but they can't get that from the illegals, they have to beg congress to allow them to ignore american citizens supposedly because they can't find the qualifications necessary here. Which is also bullshit and is driven by cost. Even the H1's get intimidated because if they lose the job they have to go home.

He was there as a guest of his father's new squeeze, who lives in said community.
Although procedures may vary from gated community to gated community.
I have been to one such community where being a guest at someone's house allowed me untrammeled passage. They gave me a gate code and nobody would say me nay. At another such community, I was told that as a guest I had to check in and out with the security staff every time I came and went, even if I had the code. And they enforced that.
However, even if Tray-demark had been unauthorized to be on the grounds, it would have been trivial for him to get in and out of that place. Their physical security arrangements were laughable. I think these fast-buck residential tract developers just stick a gate in front as a cheap way of charging a higher price for the units they sell to suckers, because it's "exclusive".

I was interested but then I kept reading lousy reviews.
From what I gleened, a lot of times these video games just plug in the characters and motif (from Star Trek, Farscape, Star Wars, any tv show, movie, etc.) and have the player run around and shoot stuff, adding very little/no 'story' in the game.

Knew a guy who lived on a rural place in the San Bernardino mountains. One of those rare types whose family had been in SoCal since God was a pup, before the long boom started, who had watched the whole huge ugly insane sprawl-o-plex morass grow from nothing.
He was traveling when the L.A. riots broke out. He is still pissed that he "missed" them.
I said, "WTF? What'd you 'miss', taking a brick to the head?"
To understand his response, you have to realize that this guy loathes Los Angeles urban libtards with the same intensity with which a sheep farmer loathes coyotes.
He said that what he would have loved to do would have been to stack the bed of his ratty old farm truck with road flares, thirty jerricans full of gasoline and his dirt bike, and drive it down into one of the libtardiest parts of L.A. like Santa Monica.
Where he would park and abandon the truck, and hop on the dirt bike, and ride home as fast as he could. Did I mention this guy hates L.A. liberals? He hates L.A. liberals in a big way.

The awful truth is that the Left is 10x happier than we are over the not guilty verdict. The Left wants to use Trayvon's corpse (just like they use Rachel Corrie's flattened body) as a political device.
The protesters? They're laughing! They're chanting "justice for Trayvon" while they're smiling, waving, dancing, and laughing. It's a g-d party for those subhumans. (I saw it on TV, today.)
Don't think for a minute the Left is genuinely upset. When Obama, Holder, Sharpton, Jackson, and the black race hustlers behind the pulpit pretending to be ministers heard the verdict, they were thrilled.
It's all PBS. Political Bullshit Theater. A Not Guilty verdict gives them more reason to continue the play, ramp up the theatrics, and squeeze even more political value from the corpse of a black teenager. In that sense, I do feel sorry for Trayvon Martin as he is being shamelessly used by people who give not a care in the world about him, dead or alive.

The prosecution had a theory? I must have missed that part.
What the prosecution did do was to call Jane Surdyka as a witness.
She is the utter nutjob who claimed that she saw and heard GZ shoot TM in the back, three times, even though that was totally contradicted by every last particle of the forensic evidence.
It was a huge mistake for the prosecution ever to put her on the stand. Thank goodness they did. Her disconnected-from-Earthly-reality account was probably the first juncture at which the jurors began to ask themselves, "Wait a minute, this couldn't possibly have gone down the way it's being claimed, what *did* happen?"

Apparently, the FBI report makes it really hard to proceed.
Among the revelations found in nearly 300 pages of records:
• An ex-girlfriend said Zimmerman had outbursts and sometimes threatened suicide. She suspected it was a result of Accutane, the acne medicine he took. She said he was the “last person in the world” she thought would be involved in such an incident.
• The ex girlfriend said she and Zimmerman had a violent argument when she caught him on a singles dating web site, even though they were engaged to be married.

The principle seems easy enough, dig trench, add some rock, put in a pipe, add much more rock, cover with some dirt.
The issue is getting the slope right, and that's where we're stuck. It's a fairly flat area, hence the problem.
The mulch in fact was a way to solve some drainage problems in the back yard (water against the basement) without re-grading.
We want to put a patio in next to the deck when the money starts flowing again. Oh, but I get to grow hops next to the garage there! (that's also bbq zone.)

Posted by: tsrblke (tablet) at July 14, 2013 08:50 PM (GaqMa)
A tight string and a string level. Level the string and measure down from it. Lots of ways to do it but hanging lengths of string from that level string that represent the drain slope you want is a great way to know you are doing it right and if you have kids they can get involved.
If the problem is it doesn't drop enough pierced drain tile and an out flow at the end.

If you use perforated drain tile (which isn't tile it's plastic tubing) you can bury that just subsurface or a ground gutter. Then run it to a lower area with non perforated tile to a low area out flow. or a larger section of buried perforated tile away from the house.
Ground gutter http://tinyurl.com/oaw5n7b Not best example for your application but yo should get the idea

Zimmerman was right to follow Trayvon, the fucking thug. And he was right to call the police and he was right to shoot Trayvon, the thug, when Trayvon, the fucking thug, was atetmpting to use his own weapon against him. This trial was never about an unjust shoot. This was always about using a justified shoot as a tool to gin up support for an unjust Pesidential campaign. This is worse than race baiting and using race baiting as a tool to acheive racial equality. this was never about anything more cynical than gathering votes for the evil Obama Tyrannis Rex. It's in the side yard being the problem, and it's the lowest area between the houses, I'm tempted to run it to the sidewalk and just bury it there.
I may also just do what they did with the gutter extenders and bury it about 6 inches down and just open a whole at the end of the yard (again near the side walk) if the water flow gets large enough it shoots out and if not, it just sits there and swamps up, but at least it's not in my basement.

We've got a couple of hops planted over an arch. On the sunnier side, it's starting to get rambunctious and even goes off and jumps the bamboo (!), while on the shadier side it's taken it a couple of years to get really rolling.
You have to thoroughly clean them up every year 'cause they die back to the ground. Each year, the area where shoots come up gets bigger. And the 8' middle shoots from last year that were 5' the year before will be 12' shoots this year.
They are seriously outrageous feeders and you can put little 1" "hills" of fertilizer just outside the last shoots.
You only want to keep female plants, or it'll become a fragrant version of kudzu -- they produce seeds in the gazillions. They're normally propagated by root cuttings, so they're all clones. I'm fond of the "Cascade" clone, myself -- it's flowery and spicy with a citrus-like tone.

Y'know, someone needs to do a blog post in one place showing all the shit that was trying to be shoved down the public's throat by virtue of Trayvon being dead. Everything from "you can't watch someone in your neighborhood skulk around looking in windows" to "you can't describe someone to the cops as being black -- maybe try 'well-tanned'" to "you can't shoot a guy who is beating the crap out of you in a way that has often resulted in death". A guilty verdict in this would have changed the world we know into a horror. Yeah, it sucks that a guy is dead.....but the wild overzealous ravings from the prosecution to try to avoid a "....but that happens sometimes" predicate were surreal. The last-minute bid for Murder 3, with the underlying felony being "child molestation through perforation with a bullet" was absolutely mind-boggling.

anybody that tries to use the justice system to railroad someone should be face the same penalties as the person they tried to harm. Zimmerman faced life for 2nd Deg, and 30 years for manslaughter. so, that's what the people who lied and doctored evidence to get him should face, too.

Every blogger has his own piece of this. It's why the powers-that-be so want to be able to say who is a journalist. The problem that they're facing is that the more outrageous the BS on the MSM, the more people (even LIVs) will get their info from more trusted sources....which would be blogs. And THAT means that the MSM will have to go just a bit farther in trying to establish The Narrative.....
It was absolutely unthinkable that they'd be forced into this cycle in the days of Uncle Walter, but they're well along now. Remember Drudge pounding away on the stained blue dress? Remember Breitbart taking over Weiner's press conference? If you look carefully, even those who have the most to gain from incestuous press support are openly showing concern and doubt.
Framing the Narrative begins with choosing the subject. But fighting a rear-guard action on a subject you chose, while things you hoped to ignore (IRS reviews, Fast-and-Furious, etc.) keep bubbling up, is not a sign that you're doing well.

And they really hate it when either the public rejects the Narrative, but its even worse when something happens and they don't want to cover it at all but it keeps slipping past them.

Knowing what I know, and that the current market cap of GE (their corporate parent) is $245.68B, I'd award Zimmerman $245.69B -- because they tried to jump out of the bushes, sucker-punch him, ground-and-pound him, and make him dead.....and that makes a bullet, center-mass, appropriate.

They're getting both, and plenty of it, lately. And at some critical mass, the struts will fail. It doesn't help that they're staffed by halfwit Journalism majors who keep coming up with obvious crap like "mostly peaceful protests" where stuff is burned down, shot up, crapped-on, destroyed, and people are injured or killed.

Speaking of which, that's where every Moron can help. Wherever possible, toss out a softball like "great news! today's mostly peaceful protest only caused $1M in property damage" at the water-cooler and just mike-drop it. If they come sniffing after you to see if you're in "the family", feel free to echo whatever prog BS you'd like...."I voted for Obama, he's the dreamiest".....but stick to the facts of the quote "NYT said peaceful protest; SF Chronicle said $1M property damage."
It's like that scene in ST -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydXenL7iu0w -- the fun comes later.

Let me be abundantly clear on this -- if a company provides a better product at a better price or with better service, their prosperity is their own affair and Godspeed.....but if they use government to quash competitors, secure monopolies, or -- worse yet -- screw over their customers.....then when the government changes they should be ground to dust. GE and Comcast both fit within the latter category.

We could all borrow a page from Wall Street and virtualize things -- if you need to give $20M to the DNC, $15M to the Obama campaign, $10M to Harry Reid, and $5M to your local D guy in the House of Representatives, in order to steal $1.5B, you could create a fund where anyone could steal increments of $1000 for a 3-1/3% set of political donations and a management fee of 1% -- you don't even have to know your local Representatives' name, the scumbucket.

...and found this little gem: "'As we swang down the steps and turned to go down the next flight,'' says Dr. Abernathy, ''Jesse Jackson came to the stairs and said, 'Doc!' And Dr. King whirled in anger. He looked up and pointed his finger and said, 'Jesse, it may be that you will carve your own individual niche in society. But don't you bother me.' And Jesse was left with his mouth hanging. And we continued down the stairs.''
On April 4, 1968, Dr. King was assassinated as he stood on the balcony outside his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. The gunshot set off a sequence of events that would drive a wedge between Jesse Jackson and many of Dr. King's followers.
Mr. Jackson was a floor below when the shots rang out; he and several colleagues ran up to the balcony. After the fatally wounded Dr. King was taken to the hospital, reporters converged on the motel.
''And Jesse was saying, 'I was the last person in the world he spoke to,' '' recalls the Rev. Hosea Williams, an Atlanta city council member and former King associate who was also at the motel. ''I saw the blood on Jesse's shirt and I know Jesse had not been near Dr. King.''
That night, Mr. Jackson flew to Chicago. The next day, he had Don Rose book him on two local television talk shows; he also appeared that morning on NBC's ''Today Show,'' wearing the same blood-stained turtleneck that he had worn the day before. He told reporters he was the last to talk to Dr. King, who died, he said, cradled in his arms.
But none of that is so, according to several King aides, who remain bitter about the incident and still ask why Mr. Jackson did not change his shirt.
''Trauma. And it was in part defiance and anger and hurt,'' explains Mr. Jackson, who both stands by his story and alters it a bit. Today, he does not say that he cradled the dying man's head, only that he ''reached out for'' him. His wife supports his explanation. ''I think he had the same clothes on for two or three days,'' says Jacqueline Jackson. ''I think it was psychological.''
Not many of Dr. King's colleagues are mollified. ''I hope God has forgiven him,'' says Dr. Abernathy, one of the few close King associates who says he will support Mr. Jackson's Presidential bid. ''He has had time to pray. He is a different man now. It would be wrong from me to hold it against him.''"
