Surely you morons can add to this list. Top 10 Sequester Cuts To Hit The White House.

1. Obama to begin drinking Poland Spring instead of Fiji water.

2. BidenÂ’s nanny no longer paid to work weekends.

Everything must be taxed for the good of the planet. Washington State Democrats want Bicycles To Be Taxed For Causing Global Warming. Seriously?

OrcuttÂ’s main support for the tax comes from his belief that riding a bicycle is worse than driving a car for the environment.

“A cyclists [sic] has an increased heart rate and respiration. That means that the act of riding a bike results in greater emissions of carbon dioxide from the rider. Since CO2 is deemed to be a greenhouse gas and a pollutant, bicyclists are actually polluting when they ride,” he said.

The other day, Russia Announced It Had Found New Bacteria In Antarctic Lake. My first thought was oh hell no, I've seen this movie. Burn it! Burn it now! Fast forward to today and Russia Admits No New Life Form Found. Whew. Diaster averted. Unless they're lying.

Speaking of torture, here's the latest on the TSA. Not content with $50M in new uniforms, they evidently get off on Opening Bags With Sex Toys.

Heartfelt sympathy-- I had to put one of my kittehs to sleep two years ago when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and she was only 12. Pets are precious, and it's hard to accept the fact that humans usually outlive cats and dogs (cockatoos and giant tortoises are another story). Anyway, you've come to the right place for sharing feelings about the death of a beloved pet.

73 Orcutt’s main support for the tax comes from his belief that riding a bicycle is worse than driving a car for the environment. Orcutt's a Republican. I wonder if this is a dihydrogen monoxide thing.

Make the penalty for DUI in anyone under 21 so nasty that they will absolutely spend time in jail.

But if they want to drink? Who are we to say no? Just don't kill me driving back from the party and I don't give a shit.

I'm leery about DUIs because I think that it's become a racket for many communities.

I would make the age to purchase alcohol or any drug 18, but 16-18 to consume, and then make whoever purchased it legally liable for anything that happens.

I'm a sucker for all those dog rescue videos on youtube. They look a mess and are scared to death of the person trying to put a leash on them. They will fight and even growl. Then they give up and just climb into the rescuer's lap. Pups need that human touch and we need them.

Since one SNL prediction from the previous thread was posted here, please permit me to add mine from the same:

If they deign to take note of Paul's filibuster at all, it will be in the context of an Oval Office-based skit where Obama is trying to deliver a speech on the sequester and Paul keeps rushing on camera to be reassured that the O isn't going to be droning anybody. There will be a gag on the order of:

But what about kittens?

Kittens? C'mon.

Muslim kittens. (said with combination wild-eyed/knowing glance to camera)

No, not even then.

That is the SNL writers' room mindset - you could freakin' profile them.

Not only is their gag-writing rote to that degree, but they would naturally assume that the only proper framing perspective for Rand Paul's filibuster or any other political event would be in the context of Obama as calm eye of the storm.

I am well aware that the current policies toward drugs and alcohol are costing the country tens of billions of dollars each year.

The problem is that I do not trust the government at all...not one little bit...to transition to a saner policy. They will leave the current system in place and add layers of expensive bureaucratic bullshit, while simultaneously decreasing enforcement of existing laws that do work.

We will end up with a more expensive drug policy that does even less than what we have currently.

132 Thanks, everybody. It helps to know other people have gone through this.

She was a West Highland Terrier named Beth. She was the most un-dog-like dog I've ever seen. She could leap like a cat (when she was a puppy she would even crouch and stalk my mom's dog like a cat).

She had a human-like way of expression with her eyes. When I would take her out in the woods, she'd want to go a different direction and she would alternate between staring that way and staring up at me until I gave in and went the way she wanted to go. She was so cute I couldn't turn her down.

She was fascinated with this small purple ball made of hard plastic. She liked to chase it all over the place trying to get her teeth around it, but never could.

She liked to chase ducks and geese and she would trot back afterward with a proud satisfied expression.

She would get under my piano and howl along when I played a certain octave repeatedly.

And she liked to lay on the porch and wait for lizards to run across the brick steps and try to catch them. She'd lay there for hours if you let her.

This morning, I had a dream that they were able to clear her lungs of the fluid and that I could come pick her up. When she saw me, she ran over and was so excited to see me, just like she used to when she was young. Just after that, I woke up and they were calling to tell me that she hadn't improved and that she probably wouldn't make it very long.

I don't really know if our pets will be in heaven when we get there. I know some people claim that's true, but I don't know of any real reason to believe it. I hope it's true though. I really do.

135 "riding the wrong way down streets, on sidewalks, the wrong way down sidewalks without lights in the middle of night in the dark. leave the lawyers alone, start with the cyclists."

Come to Boston, cars do the same thing. Worse when they have consulate plates or a illegal aliens that can do whatever the fuck they want in unregistered uninsured cars.

"effers would not have anywhere to ride their stupid bikes unless everyone else payed for the streets."

Not true, gas taxes and other auto related free pay for little maintenance. Roads are paid for primarily out of property taxes. If anything cyclists pay more in taxes compared to cars and trucks in that they aren't responsible for any road wear.

"cyclists are the pigeons of our transportation world."
They hopefully won't shit on your car and on the bright side are one less person taking up a parking spot while you are circling the block. Offering more choices in transportation options reduces overall congestion. Would you rather have 100 people to the right in a bike lane, or in front of you in their Prius texting with a latte in hand?

in other news:

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea set International Women's Day as a national holiday starting from this year.

An endless stream of women was seen paying floral tribute to the statues of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang.

Priority is given to women at theatres and cinemas and in pleasure parks throughout the country.

The Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe and other art troupes put on stage special programs exclusively arranged for women.

Okryu, Chongryu and other restaurants gave preferential service to women.

Flower and cosmetics shops were crowded with men and children demanding flagrant bouquets and kinds of cosmetics for their wives and mothers.

The hairpin counter at the Pyongyang Department Store No. 1 was teeming with women asking for "cosmos"-brand hairpins.

It has been a custom that husbands prepare special meals for families instead of their wives.

Thanks, Craig. I was alone all day since my family are all 200 miles away. But when I went to the grocery store a little bit ago, I started crying in the checkout line and the lady behind the checkout came and gave me a hug. I think that helped more than anything. We talked for a few minutes (I think the lady behind me was probably pissed off, but I didn't care). It's just good to let it all out, I guess.

It used to be only that 'great' people could live on for centuries thanks to remembrance in epic poetry, literature, and art. Modernity has bestowed the average person with sufficient mediums to allow for a decent shot of similar immortality.

also, as a bicycle rider... I often ride on the wrong side of the street so I can see the idiot who is about to open the driver side door in my face... if I ride on the sidealk it's because my riding at about the speed of a 60 year old jogger makes me less of a risk to people on the sidewalk than the 60 year older driver is to me on the side of the road. And I am far less of a danger to anyone than the guy who thinks that the "no right turn on red" sign only applies when other cars are around.

182 He's probably doing it out of sarcasm then to show how stupid the opposition is. Yeah, pretty much. I looked it up. The HuffPo, naturally, missed the point, but you have to love this, from a scientist: Orcutt is correct that a human likely produces more carbon dioxide while riding a bicycle than sitting in a car, but that is part of the natural cycle of human metabolism, said Thomas Ackerman, a professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Washington. "It's a question of where that CO2 comes from," Ackerman said. "CO2 is only a pollutant when it comes from fossil fuels." So, you could have carbon dioxide come from any of 6 billion sources (even a machine that does nothing but create CO2) but even though there is no scientific difference between breathing and fossil fuels as far as CO2 is concerned, it's not a "pollutant" unless it comes from fossil fuels. So don't worry, eco-freaks, you don't have to feel guilty. http://tinyurl.com/agf3v2q This is science to these people.

Sucks, sucks, sucks. I've had to have 4 kittehs put to sleep during my marriage, and each one got more difficult. Every one is different and special in their own way, and the sadness was almost unbearable. My wife was so attached to the little guys, that the pain she was feeling made it even worse for me. So imagine a 6'4" 270lb man walking out of the vet's office blubbering like a 3 year old, that was me. Don't worry, what you are feeling is normal.

If, drunk with sight of power, we loose

Wild tongues that have not Thee in awe—

Such boastings as the Gentiles use,

Or lesser breeds without the Law—

Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,

Lest we forget—lest we forget!

For heathen heart that puts her trust

In reeking tube and iron shard—

All valiant dust that builds on dust,

And guarding calls not Thee to guard.

For frantic boast and foolish word,

Thy Mercy on Thy People, Lord!

Amen.

Posted by: katya the designated driver" My suspicion is that they didn't think things through. Dog food isn't cheap and a huge dog eats a lot of it. There is also the vet bills. Then an older Great Dane puppy is a lot of dog. She brought this dog into my house when it was a little over a year old. It was enormous and still had some of that puppy energy. So anyway, she benefited from their mistake.

272 Thanks, AltonJackson and rickl.

Did he tell you this between bong hits?

Heh. No, but he did seem extremely sincere. Maybe he did just make it up and was seeing if I'd buy it. But it was in the context of a serious conversation, so I don't know. It sounds like something a post-modernist semi-religious philosopher might come up with, I guess.

I know I'm rambling, but on a related topic: the book of Genesis says that God put a fear of mankind into the animals as part of the curse. I'm starting to think maybe God felt sorry for us and gave some of them back to us for consolation.

Also, from the Roger Caras quote above by, uh, "Ashley Judd's Puffy Scamper" (who I'm sadly shocked to learn is really a 6'4" 270lb man), it's true that dogs look at us worshipfully. Maybe part of the reason God gave us dogs is so we would know how he felt about us.

OK, sorry for the ad hoc pop theology. But it does seem to help to think these things through that way.

301 Ill echo the pet sentiments here. 2 years ago I had to put down my ragdoll cat Calypso. He was a SPCA rescue that was about 1 years old.. I asked for a female hence the name Calypso (from Homer's Odyssey) after the first 6 weeks I took "her' to the vet for the first checkup. I was told that the female cat I had adopted was a male. Well it was too late to change his name so he became " the cat named Sue." I was unfamiliar with the breed, but boy was I not disappointed. The breed is called cat dogs or puppy cats because they love people/strangers, will come when you call, play fetch, and act not much like your typical cat. I had him for 11 years, thru good times and bad (hurricane Katrina). I had to put him down due to renal failure. Hardest thing Ive ever done and I cried like a skinned kneed 6 year old for about a week. Buried him in the backyard in the sun near the trees so he could watch the squirrels and birds. After about 2 weeks of being lonely I went and got another rag doll kitten. Totally different cat but is wonderful in her own right. There will never be another Calypso, but Lilly has made the hurt less.

Fossil fuels are not part of the current cycle, and thus add additional CO2 to the atmosphere. Interesting...although CO2 is a trace gas, so why do we exhale so much of it?

315 I had to put him down due to renal failure. I had a cat that went through the same thing. We kept her alive with medication for a long time...until she would reflexively gag if you shook a pill bottle within her hearing. That was enough for me....I couldn't justify torturing the poor animal any more. Oh...and the vet said the likeliest cause of her renal failure was high levels of ash in her food, which is apparently a problem for cats.

It's an invitation on his part to play, but he doesn't realize us humans aren't quite as flexible as he is, and can't quite chase him under the couch. My wife had her purse out a couple weeks ago, and the ferret decided it was the most perfect cave/hammock ever, and spent a good half hour carefully dragging everything out of it. He then went through the pile of loot, and dragged her keys back inside....waited a while, and decided they would be safer in his hidey-stash, and embarked on a mission of relocating her keys to his special spot, that only he could possibly know about, (currently right behind the corner of the tv in the living room). He got a little dab of peanut butter for being so amusing.

I came home from work one day (I was at home and had a summer job in a restaurant) and was told "We took Patches in today." Man, that hurt. And I don't think I ever completely forgave my family for not giving me a chance to say goodbye. However, there are several good pet bereavement websites with volunteers and others who are hurting as you are

When I lost my mother, at age 25, I got the feeling most people didn't know what to say to me - that particular loss is so cosmic and mind-blowing. (Most of my contemporaries are now starting to deal with what I dealt with 25 years ago. In their 20's, my loss was incomprehsible to them. They couldn't yet imagine their parents dying.)

391 346 The CO2 from fossil fuels adds to the Earth's biomass and is not a pollutant. The original statement was idiocy anyway. There's no reason to believe global CO2 production and plant conversion of same is currently in equilibrium. There's too many moving parts for such a thing to be static. Exactly. If there was no such thing as combustion in nature, then that might make sense. There's no difference in the C02 release from a volcano or forest fire than from burning oil. Heck, one volcanic eruption can release more "greenhouse" gas than mankind puts out in a year.

I was going to weigh in with a spiel about how it's important to know why she fell in the first place -- if she's bruised, scraped, and shaken but cursing your kids' habit of leaving play toys on the stairs, you are likely to be in good shape -- but if she's going "last I remember, I was in my room....but then I was at the bottom of the steps...." then the fall might be a symptom in itself.

But then my system went through a massive crash and Microsoft, McAfee, and Mozilla decided they needed to install updates.

More often than not, they had loads of limestone rocks that had been weathered so they were pretty thin. I picked up the ones that were 6-8" in size, and an inch or less in thickness, and put them on the dirt berm, and blasted away. 407 Sorry about your puppy, guy. It sucks to lose a pet. I've gotten to the point where I make it worse on myself because I now go back and hold him/her while they do the deed. Sucks for me, but I finally got fed up sending the poor things off to die with strangers. Lost our 13 1/2 year old Sheltie mix about 11 months ago (1 week before she would have been with us for 13 years) and our 15(?) y.o. cat August before last. Not sure how much longer our 13 1/2 y.o. Wolfhound mix is gonna last. He's losing sight and hearing and energy and stamina and he has bad arthritis in his hips... OTOH, we expected him to curl up and die when our other dog died since she was the focus of his life since he was 8 weeks old. It hurts for a while, and then you can start talking about the good times with a smile on your face and in your heart. The key, I've found, is to focus on remembering the good parts and the good times. Not that there's no admission that there are not-so-good times, but what is gained by remembering those? When you can start thinking about another little bundle of fluff, just remember, you're not replacing her, you're getting another. One that will have his/her own personality and special traits. Good luck!

411 The difference is that exhalation is part of the natural carbon cycle, and any CO2 given off originated from plants which grabbed it from the atmosphere to begin with. Fossil fuels are not part of the current cycle, and thus add additional CO2 to the atmosphere.

Posted by: The Political Hat at March 09, 2013 11:10 PM (Vk2pI)

Well, that's the Warmist party line. But some plant carbon goes into the soil, and remains there for many years (roots, you know), and some atmospheric CO2 dissolves in the ocean, and is precipitated as calcium carbonate. The carbon cycle isn't a closed loop; it's more like a traffic circle, with units joining here, and leaving there. The natural tendency of the Earth is toward equilibrium, because if it wasn't, it would have already pegged out at some unlivable extreme.

Global warming alarmists use statements like what you have posted to "prove" to impressionable idiots that we who don't buy that baloney are all "anti-science" Yah, CO2 levels have gone up, but the it's greenhouse effect is smaller as it gets bigger since the relationship is logarithmic, and it is but one factor in a complex system that we haven't fully understood yet... at least to the point where we can say "more x = earth burning."

Miss Fatso McPoopsalot: ha! That could have been the name of the dog we got after my childhood one was put to sleep. Pepper, a springer spaniel who was smart as a whip (she taught herself to ring the front doorbell when she wanted to come in - you'd see her head pop up in the bay window and disappear and 5 seconds later, you'd hear the doorbell).

Pepper was the family dog after all the kids had grown up and my parents were in their 60's. So she didn' t get the exercise the previous dog had gotten. She got fat and pooped alot because she was the companion of older folks who spoiled her. Her farts could knock you dead. But she was the one thing keeping my dad going after my mom died.

When I moved to Florida and came back to Wisconsin to visit, that goofy dog Pepper was so happy to see me she couldn't stop peeing. It was the funniest thing ever: this fat springer spaniel running up to me and then walking around the driveway, crying and peeing at the same time.

It was also great when my sister's in-laws, who owned her sister Misty would bring Misty for a visit. Those dogs knew they were sisters! They'd cry and go apeshit and run around our house together until they were exhausted. Once they came tearing around a corner, side by side and Misty had Pepper's ear in her mouth! 448 So -- question for the Knowledge of the Horde -- I discovered I was seriously allergic to both cats and dogs only after I went off to college (I had been a "sickly child"). Fast-forward 25 years, love 'em to pieces, haven't had one, still allergic.

I'm considering a situation where having a herding/working dog might be a good thing. (1) Anyone have successful allergy treatments? (2) Is it really fair to have a highly trained and intelligent dog that you can't spend that much time with? (3) I've heard that poodles are allergy friendly, and you get weird stuff like labradoodles.....but does anyone have experience with a border collie-oodle?

Oh, and bonus difficulty points -- I'm phobic about needles. I just had a colonoscopy without anesthetic because I'm a chickenshit and it was easier that way. Just having blood drawn is like having a live rattlesnake parked on my chest and shakin' -- my lab tech has commented "I've never known anyone to hold their breath for quite that long." [Beats a situation I had a couple of lab techs prior -- I was saying that it'd be best to do it lying down with certain precautions and she said, "oh, don't worry -- we have one guy that's so bad he XXX, YYY, and ZZZ." ... "That was me last year."]

453 The man the left said was dumb:

"Crises there will continue to be. In meeting them, whether foreign or domestic, great or small, there is a recurring temptation to feel that some spectacular and costly action could become the miraculous solution to all current difficulties. A huge increase in the newer elements of our defenses; development of unrealistic programs to cure every ill in agriculture; a dramatic expansion in basic and applied research – these and many other possibilities, each possibly promising in itself, may be suggested as the only way to the road we wish to travel.

A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction.

But each proposal must be weighed in light of a broader consideration; the need to maintain balance in and among national programs – balance between the private and the public economy, balance between the cost and hoped for advantages – balance between the clearly necessary and the comfortably desirable; balance between our essential requirements as a nation and the duties imposed by the nation upon the individual; balance between the actions of the moment and the national welfare of the future. Good judgment seeks balance and progress; lack of it eventually finds imbalance and frustration.

The record of many decades stands as proof that our people and their Government have, in the main, understood these truths and have responded to them well in the face of threat and stress.

But threats, new in kind or degree, constantly arise.

Of these, I mention two only.

A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction.

Our military organization today bears little relation to that known by any of my predecessors in peacetime, or indeed by the fighting men of World War II or Korea.

Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.

American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence – economic, political, even spiritual – is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

In this revolution, research has become central, it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.
The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.

It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system – ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society."

455 I don't know if it helps, Cooth, but a variety of autoimmune disorders cause people to seem allergic to things they aren't actually allergic to, and they tend to fit the case of a "sickly child." They thought I was allergic to every damned thing when I was a baby. There are all kinds of lists of "hypo-allergenic dogs," but AFAICT it's all rumor, it doesn't hold up. Sometimes people are allergic to some breeds but not others. Nobody currently breeds non-allergenic dogs like they do cats. As far as shots, have you ever had a pneumatic injection (no needle)? The guns are like $250-300 used. I'm not sure of all the special features an injectable needs to have to be used in the gun. Depending on the nature of your phobia, that may not help much.

To me, a very interesting point is that the Left constantly maligns the "Military-Industrial Complex" but proposes a totalitarianism that is far worse. I, for one, could easily envision constructive criticism with regard to the military if the alternative was the natural economy of a free people -- but trying to raid a bloated military to create a bloated welfare state is sheer madness -- at least a bloated military will stomp those who need stomped.....bloated welfare states don't save the afflicted; they shunt them off to the "Liverpool Protocol."

459 "... the Left constantly maligns the "Military-Industrial Complex" but proposes a totalitarianism that is far worse. ..." Of course. It is our industrial complex that gives us a life far preferable to anything the Left has ever provided ... even for their elites ... ... and it is our military complex that prevents others, including the Left, from raking our lifestyle away.

you can tell a good theory from a bad theory in a simple way -- use your theory to make predictions -- if the future matches your prediction, your theory is pretty good -- if your prediction is way off -- your theory sux.

So -- Ike's predictions -- yup.  Pretty much on the money.

Every single leftist prediction -- medicare won't cost much, social security will pay for itself, etc, etc, etc -- not even friggin' close.

Except one -- Bobby Kennedy hit the right year for a Black man to be President.  The rest -- pretty much garbage.

I was doing some international adventure travel some years back, and had a list of recommended inoculations. So I go in to get them -- hey, I'm phobic....not stupid. And I tell the nurse, "I'm not going to lie to you -- this is going to be bad. It's extremely likely that I might pass out . But here's the thing -- if I do, finish the inoculations *first* before you revive me. And be quick."

I had a set of those gun things when I was a kid -- it's an unimaginable horror, but it's momentary. Much better than less of a horror that continues.

They will to the extent I allow them to.

There are amusing corollaries. For instance, hard-core diabetics have insulin pumps implanted, while moderate diabetics control their blood glucose with periodic injections of insulin. I've got diabetes in the family -- if I got to that point, I could see myself paying for a pump and skipping the injections.

There are a lot of paths through the phobic mess, though -- perhaps I ingest enough valium prior to the needle that they could saw off my hand with a hacksaw....but it won't be a "regular thing".

My BH had a recent bout of dehydration where they gave her an IV -- I'd be out her 3rd floor window before that would work for me.

Phobias, by their very nature, are unreasoned. They are significant neuroses with complex origins.

I realize the very real risk I face with such an aversion to being punctured. At present, I could even imagine circumstances under which I would choose not to live rather than continue "standard medical treatment"....but I'm neither so convinced about "standard medical treatment" nor the circumstances as to be convinced of a need to change in the short term.

An analogous situation is someone who doesn't quite have a "Do Not Resuscitate" order -- instead, it's "never tell me I've been resuscitated". What would a nurse do with such an instruction?

Born Heather Renee Sweet.

Von Teese got her stage name by adopting the name Dita as a tribute to silent film actress Dita Parlo. For her breakthrough 2002 Playboy cover, she was required to have a surname, so she chose Von Treese from the phonebook. In the magazine, this was misspelt as Von Teese, which she decided to stick with.

511 Give illegals a break on tuition One wonders why a politician hates their own country this much.

512 Did anyone bring up Insty's post about Gabby Gifford's husband getting caught buying an AR-155?

And good morning to all the tiny people in my computer.

513 AR-155 = AR15

514 Yep dogfish.  Sadly, I don't recognize my Country anymore.  We have a JEF doing his best to ruin our homeland.

Here in CA the politicians love their country but it isn't the USA. Look into the history of all too many Latino politicians and you find group affiliations like La Raza. These groups have a common credo that much of the the Southwestern US will be taken by Mexico or rather a fantasy nativist nation called Aztlan.

You won't find many reconquista types on the other side of the border. Only those who enjoy the privilege of US citizenship seem to be anxious to destroy America.

516 Did pixy forget to change the time or is the little hamster in AZ?

517 "Didpixy forget to change the time or is the little hamster in AZ?"

It's a feature, not a bug.

If you're looking for the correct time, and ampersands, this isn't the place.

Let me guess....Ace got a flea dip and his anal glands expressed again.

520 The big question is if Vic is going to show up.
Or after his birthday party did someone find him face down in coconut cream pie, with a hand full of $5.00 bills, and a thong over his head.

521 Only after he bagged his limit of hobos.

522 The coconut cream pie sounded good...so I made one...and it was good.

526 I had to put my 15 year old dog to sleep this morning. It was the hardest thing I've ever done and this has been the saddest loneliest day I've ever been through. I really don't know what to do now, because I don't think I'll make it.

Just went thru that ourselves.  I cried like a baby.

I still look for him in the house when I come home.  It's been 6 months.  Not ready yet for another, but thinking about it.

527 If bike riding causes AGW then by logical extension working out at the gym is also polluting the earth. heck, basketball and soccer events are as well. Everyone stand still, don't move or the earth will die.
