— Ace How We See Ourselves in Online Fights:

How Everyone Else Sees Us:

Picture via @jonahgoldberg. I have no idea what it's about or why it was made. But I thought I had to find some way to share it.
They're corgis, apparently.
I asked a really dumb question, but I have to know: Is it possible this is real? Like, they put little weapon-gloves on the corgis to make them hold the weapons?
Because I'd like it to be real.

They're always one heartbeat away from throwing down.
My sister's rescued Jack Russell thinks it's a pit bull. Always after the bigger dogs. It's a miracle another dog hasn't killed her at the dog park.

Mrs. Phinn and I once had a Shar Pei that failed obedience training three times. We kept getting bumped down into the remedial class, again and again. By the time we were at the lowest level -- reform school for dogs -- our dog's classmates were some pretty hard cases.
The worst, most difficult dog in that lowest-rung class? A Yorkie. Obstinate little fucker.
The only type of dog the instructor refused to even admit to his class, even the remedial one? Jack Russells.
Untrainable, he said.

Revolution also has bows and cross bows. But the CQ (close quarters) fighting is usually done with swords.
Crossbows are stupid. The stupidest weapon ever, btw. I cringed when I saw Joffrey get his new crossbow this season. It's a weapon for dinks.

Crossbows are stupid. The stupidest weapon ever, btw. I cringed when I saw Joffrey get his new crossbow this season. It's a weapon for dinks.
-----------------------------
They're easy to use. They don't require years of training to use effectively, and not having a disproportionately strong draw arm for the bowstring isn't going to keep you from punching holes in things with a crossbow bolt.
Swords are stupid, though, unless they're using mass formations (and though I haven't seen the series, I'm pretty confident that they're not). Spears are much easier to make and use, and are reasonably effective at holding people off in barely-trained hands.

My 2 Yorkies would take on those Corgis, they are that brazen.
My littlest one charged a pit bull once.
We'd stopped at our friends' house with our 2 "girls." Our friends didn't tell us they'd bought a pit bull. So we got a big surprise when they opened their front door. He came bounding out of the house - straight at us. And my 4 lb Yorkie jumped out of my arms and went after him - barking like mad while chasing him down the street.
And I was chasing them both. Scared the hell out of me. But poor Chief was whining. I don't think he knew what hit him. Luckily he didn't turn on her.
She's a little brat, but fearless.
Needless to say, we make sure both girls are on leads before we open our car doors anymore.

1) I have two corgis. Really smart, but tend to 'herd' people (Buddy, the male, sometimes tries to keep me from leaving for work by doing the heeler thing and pretending to bite my ankle). Good watch dogs, though, will definitely let you know if someone is snooping around your house.
2) Moorcock (what a great name for an author) did a much better job with the Corum series. If you ever wonder where the idea for the Eye and Hand of Vecna came from in D and D, they took it directly from the Corum series (long story short, hero loses eye and hand, has it replaced with demon eye and hand, proceeds to fuck shit up). I give it three thumbs up.
