In particular, note the Cyrillic font Fairey used for the word "Obey," which he swapped out for "NRA". You couldn't parody Fairey any better than he does himself, without any apparent self-awareness of the irony.

The thing is, Faerie's MO is to take an existing, unaltered photo and run it through that colorizing filter in Photoshop. 5 minute, pre-fab "art".

So in this case, he actually went out of his way to piece this thing together. Largely because he got caught stealing the original AP photo for the original SCOAMF "hope" poster.

The only people who want gun control and make guns laws are people that have no idea how a gun works. Which is a problem. Like, when you make illegal your own state police force's ammunition magazines -- here's looking at you Cuomo.

Ask anyone who screams about gun control basic questions about guns and you will get a blank stare... every time.

Give someone a gun and they will turn conservative overnight.

As a designer, this poster pissed me off. As a conservative this poster and that dumbass article pissed me off enough to leave a comment that heartily disagreed with the stupid crap the author and Fairey spewed. Wouldn't you know it? The moderators never put it up. The funniest thing is that their tag-line was something along the lines of "Expanding the design conversation" (they've redesigned their site since April 3). I guess the conversation didn't expand THAT far.
