Praying to Barak Obama? [OregonMuse]
— Open Blogger

I'm not sure if this is a prayer for or a prayer to Obama. The little boy's words shift back and forth between addressing Obama directly and addressing God about Obama, so it's a little ambiguous. But either way, I think the overall effect is kind of creepy. He's obviously reading from a script (as opposed to making up an extemporaneous prayer), so I'd guess the refusal to disambiguate is likely the intention of the author. Which makes it doubly creepy.

I'm sure you morons could think up some pretty awesome prayers to Obama yourselves.

11 This outright deification of a political figure, with Americans _praying to the President_, is really something new and noteworthy and alarming in the American experience, and it doesn't bode well for the culture or for the country.

I knew some older folk who lived through the Depression and the New Deal, who were absolutely convinced that FDR was the greatest President of all time, and who respectfully kept a portrait of the man on their walls for decades after, till the day they died. But they never _prayed to_ the guy.

It's weird and, frankly, sick.

56 Also never seen before in American history so far as I am aware:

First-grade schoolchildren being drilled in songs that are outright political praise of an incumbent President, the infamous "Mmm mmm mmm Barack Hussein Obama" song which you can easily find on Yoot Ube.

There was NONE of that nonsense when I was a first-grader, let me tell you. The only things we did verbally in unison were to recite the alphabet, our basic arithmetic, and the determinedly nonpartisan Pledge of Allegiance in the morning.

But what I found really alarming was that whomever had come up with that Obama propaganda song had actually pirated lyrics from old hymnals.

"Red and yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight."

Hey! I actually DO remember that song lyric from my childhood. Except it wasn't being taught to us in our local public school. It was being sung in our local Baptist church, and it was "all are equal in His sight". The sight being that of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Is it not funny how the institutional left, who always love to lecture everyone else about the "separation of church and state", have now installed what amounts to a First Church Of The Dear Leader at all levels of the state down to _first-grade classrooms_?

Fen's Law again. The Left don't really believe any of the things they profess to.

There is a product called New York City (NYC) condoms. 2. They have handed out more than 200 million of these. 3. There is an office in the New York City government where one can complain about the quality of the free condoms. 4. People brought their used condoms in for testing. 5. The candidate who is raising this issue is an open lesbian and presumably has no use for condoms. 6. Her stance on this issue is being termed a "crusade". 7. Sex educators are complaining about the condoms. Wait, what? 8. Gay rights organizations are complaining that the condoms are too small. Heh. 9. Some organizations are apparently HIV-related. 10. No one at the NY Post called Anthony Weiner's campaign for comment.

103 On an appointed day Herod put on his royal robes and delivered an oration. And the people shouted "the voice of a god and not a man, the voice of a god and not a man." Paraphrase of Acts 12: 21-23 If Obama had a brain larger than a walnut prayers to him would frighten him more than a legion of rodeo cowboys. Nitwit.

I am going to try it.  It will certainly be better for my spiritual health to not carry around so much hate and, who knows, God may listen to my prayers.

158 The underwire in my favorite bra snapped this week

Should be easily repairable if you have a cheap/uncomfortable donor with wires of similar dimension.

I've never attempted a bra repair, but this should work given the way it has to be designed...

1) Take #11 X-acto blade and make small incisions at the top of the wire channels (which have to be continuous) where they were closed with stitching.

2) Work the busted pieces out through the incisions.

3) Slide the new donor parts in through the incisions and work them around until the position looks about right.

4) Seal the incisions with a couple of hand sewn stitches.

194 176 Tobacco Road,

It was more a prayer or invocation for divine intervention...

you seemed to be implying slim pickings here and I was caught in a feedback loop.

I left Columbia SC at 0830 to take Lad and Spouse down to Atlanta for Shopping Paradise....

you ever notice that the women who flaunt their bodies with the most abandon are often those who have the least delectable bodies to flaunt so it was a deal a meal evening when we drove back up.

On the way back up 385 I snapped at Traffic and went into "Sven J Olafson does Maine accent at the State Capitals Rote Memorization Drill" for his benefit...

poor Lad damn near pissed his pants when I started going on about the "Goldun Biear"

He said "all beer is golden dad" and we were off I said "gold-un biear like Jock Nicholson the Gawlfuh"

anyway I don't get out much and that is probably a good thing.

Wet me drive the caw!

anyway we're a riot with a flashlight and a corner....

225 Peaches, You may want to check this guy out. I am hoping to find a church that is about God. Posted by: Peaches at August 17, 2013 05:53 PM (8lmkt) My husband says that First Baptist in Dallas is pretty spot on. Pastor Robert Jeffress is the lead Pastor and you can hear him on the radio and online. My husband started to listen to him after re-reading several versions of the bible to get a clearer picture of God's word not any church's or man's word. So far he's been pretty impressed with Jeffress and feels that he sticks to God's word not his own interpretation. My husband wasn't raised Baptist but was raised pretty religiously.

246 Rodeo Clown's Prayer

As I stumble through this life,
help me to create more laughter than tears,
dispense more cheer than gloom,
spread more cheer than despair.

Never let me become so indifferent,
that I will fail to see the wonders in the eyes of a child,
or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.

Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people,
make them happy, and forget momentarily,
all the unpleasantness in their lives.

And in my final moment,
may I hear You whisper:
“When you made My people smile,
you made Me smile.”

Judaism does not require belief. What is first and foremost is the behavior that Judaism believes God requires of us. It is a method for life rather than a belief system.

278 Well I don't have to deal with their politics. I just have the liberal loons in my part of the state which are bad enough. I feel like a resident alien.

279 Parents must legally send their children to school or face fines and possible jail time. Which means your kid must go to school and sit next to that kid, by force of law. Truancy is illegal. Let's decriminalize truancy and allow parents to protect their children from crap like this.

280 I read once that, when Stalin died, prisoners in the gulags wept.

Unemployment for blacks is currently 12.6 about twice that for whites.

The men, women, children, intellectuals in the gulags wept, because they passionately believed that "if Stalin knew what went on here, he'd rush in and save us.

Under Obama, White America has 22 times more wealth than Blacks and the education gap between White and Black has grown steadily.  Blacks have lost 44% of their total worth.

How many prisoners in the gulag died ignorant of the fact that it was Stalin who ordered their arrest and imprisonment?  My guess, almost all.

282 The funny thing is, the kid can't even come up with anything specific that Obama has done that he should be thankful for.  Basically, he is saying "Thank you for being you."  Pure cult of personality.

283 The best explanation for this like this is that there is some very scientific high powered classified irrefutable study, done by the. CIA or NSA or all of them, that shows a massive decline in the intelligence and critical thinking abilities of the American people. Both parties have it. The Dems design everything they do around it. The Republicans are so terrified of it that they literally don't know what to do.
