Been doing it for a couple of months and  something seems not to be working because  I've gained 30 lbs. I might have gotten the formula wrong.....

99 OK , it was a relatively safe seat in the south . Didn't we lose a couple o gimmes' with Akin and Mordoch . Hell , let's enjoy this one . Ya know , learn how to win . And what the fuck is it with people already talking primary with Sanford ? It's not like the guy is gonna' turn into a Chris Christie republican . I say he can stay in the house for the next 30 yrs .

They called the cops.  The same cops that tell us to NOT get involved.  They left it to the experts just like we have been told too.  They did not get involved, because we all have been told DO NOT GET INVOLVED.

After all, I am sure the cops followed up and interviewed the men and women involved.  we can trust the government to be competent and caring. They would never close out their report with call investigated, no contact made, no follow up necessary.  There is no way something like that will go undiscovered in a caring society run by caring democrats.

103 A FLAKE?

Sanford, for those whose only knowledge of him comes from those as ignorant as themselves:

1. First ran in 1994 primary for House vs a field of established pols, including sitting state party chairman, promised no PAC money and self-limiting to three terms, made run-off and won, won seat and kept promises.
2.  Slept on office couch first year in Congress, shared apartment with 3-4 other GOP Reps thereafter, came home at own expense on weekends, never bought house in DC.
3.  Was ONLY Member of Congress to return unused office expense $$ to Treasury each year from 1995-2001.
4.  Retired after 3rd term, was drafted by Republican voters to run for Governor against establishment field, including former Governor, sitting AG & Secretary of State and other prominent GOPers, made runoff, won it and election.
5.  Stood for reforms in state government and budget.  Made DMV fast and efficient.  Vetoed many spending bills, took pigs to legislature to protest pork, infuriating establishment.
6. Counseled, encouraged, and urged Nikki Haley and Tim Scott to run for higher offices.

SC's form of government favors the legislature, so the corrupt establishment was able to resist many of Sanford's and Haley's attempts to cut and streamline and reform, but some did get through, and the light has been on the cockroaches, which makes them nervous.

Spare us your self-righteous crap.  We don't care how you do it up North.

110 Sanford ought to be very humble now. Unfortunately, he's not. When you lose, say little. When you win, say less. Only good thing about this election (and it's a good thing) is that it's one more seat in the House, and that makes it less likely for the Dems to take it back. On the other hand Boehner is a dopey squish, so having the House ain't exactly what it used to be.

The only reason Cumulus is ready to not renew their contracts with Rush is that they already fund Mike Huckabee, whose show airs at the same time as Rush's (12-3 p.m. Eastern). They want their guy on their stations. It'll also save them money, but will it save them as much as it costs them listeners and revenue? I'd dare say Cumulus doesn't care about the former at all.

Posted by: Captain Whitebread, Designated Commenter at May 07, 2013 10:19 PM (5J54Q)

Mike Huckabee was reported to be saying he is considering quitting the talk radio gig.  He will decide in 30 days or so.  It was one of the stories on "radio ink" or whatever it was; along with the Limbaugh story.

If you ever see him, ask him to say hello to his good friend Sentaor Akin for me.

It's not that big of a deal either way.  My understanding is that they plan to merge the servers into one when the game goes live, just as is the case with Champions Online and Star Trek Online.

So it'll be a non-issue when the game goes live.

130 This is great news for republicans.  It means people get it.  They get the fact that the republican party can be the party of family values and they can aspire to those values but in the end, we are all just human.   And people can make a mistake, fall off the wagon big time but they can recognize they failed and aspire to do better and be better.

This may have the dems in a tizzy.  The party of family values just got the poster boy for violating all the rules, handily elected. People got it.

And Romney won the district by about 20 points.  Had the election been a week ago, Colbert would have probably won.

I'm glad this little Pelosi clone got beat, but we once again almost missed a lay up.

A sitting Governor that runs off to a foreign country to have an affair and thinks he's going to get away with it is someone who is mentally unstable and should be cut off at the knees.

Not a Sanford fan, and he'll have the same voting record as whichever Republican would have won the district that didn't have a tainted past.

147 In the 1970's the Catholic Church wasn't having a lot of folks step up to be priests. In the past, they gave a battery of psychologicals that you had to pass to become a priest. They decided to ignore the results of those psychologicals and just take everyone who wanted to come. We all know the devastating results of that decision. The republican party reminds me of the church at that time. Desperate to win the seat, no matter what, no matter who.
