19 My older brother put up the new rods today in my living room and we put up the new drapes I had ordered from JC Penney earlier this month. They are called Quarry Blue but looked gray in the box but are blue. Now it makes me realize how bad the wallpaper is. it has been up since 1989, same time as old drapes. One of my neighbors paints and wallpapers for a living. I went outside to ask if he could do my living room. He said itÂ’s hard because he works nights. HeÂ’ll come over & look at it some day this week. My older brother can let him in if IÂ’m at work.

88 Thanks gnu @ 37 I specially liked this bit... This particular crisis is a “fiscal cliff” caused by the fact that for years the government has been spending spectacular quantities of money that it does not have, which has resulted in a mess that nobody could possibly have foreseen unless that person had a higher level of financial awareness than a cucumber. At the last minute, congressional leaders and the White House reach an agreement under which the government will be able to continue spending spectacular quantities of money that it does not have, thus temporarily averting the very real looming danger that somebody might have to make a decision.

114 Do sherpa skins insulate better than hobo skins? Higher R-factor? Posted by: Mike Hammer at December 28, 2013 09:37 PM (aDwsi) I havenÂ’t tried hobo skins. Eddie Bauer sweatshirt jackets used to be nice and warm, now they are too thin and not at all warm. I switched to the sherpa lined ones. I bought two in 2011 and washed one the other day & the zipper came off. I sent an email and woman replied it was normal wear & tear and to take it to be fixed. I told her that it should be covered under lifetime warranty. She couldnÂ’t find any orders from me. They changed my customer number for some reason. IÂ’m sending that one backhand one I ordered in November of this year. They sent replacement because zipper came out first time I wore it. IÂ’m going to find another menÂ’s sweatshirt jacket store for next one. Mike I have new drapes up without those stupid pinch pleat hooks. My older brother bought the new rods at HD. I was going to order them but he said the ones I planned to order were too expensive. They look great and I threw away those awful rods. IÂ’m having a hard time throwing away the old drapes. I remember my mother and picking them out together at a local curtain & drape store 24 years ago. IÂ’m just going to put them in the attic for now.

And, to top it off, my old waterbed has sprung a leak, and garden hose is lost, buried under 2 feet of snow, so I am having to suck it out, 10 gallons at a time, and dump the vacuum tank in the bathtub. Since the mineral rights in Canada belong to the Crown, the only revenue that the landowner receives is surface rights rental, for production leases and access roads. No royalties on production.

A few landowners, who bought land from the CP Railway, did get mineral rights, but the CPR never went through FSJ, so that's not a factor here.

I have probably driven past that place, or within a few miles, anyhow.

I have been to Thunder Bay. It's Canadian Shield country. Granite rock, peat bogs, and some runty and not-so-runty trees. A subsistence farmer would have a tough go there. Deer and moose in the woods, and plenty of fish in the lakes, though. Winter is long and cold. I saw it hit -50 one day, not far west of there. The climate is actually milder by a great deal at Ft. St. John, because it is in the Chinook belt.
