87 I dunno if Mark Levin goes into anything beyond judicial term limits in his new book, but if I was given the task of updating the Constitution, one thing I would definitely do is limit the power of judges to one thing and one thing only (wrt laws and statutes). The court may ONLY declare a law unconstitutional, and that ability would be narrowly defined. No compelling this or mandating that. No penumbras, no emanations, no goddamn nocturnal emissions. Nothing. The power of the court may ONLY limit government, or remove laws or regulations from the books. Period.

101 AtC, since you reposted the cicada saga, I will relate my Northern Virginia Face Spider story. I take the hounds out every night (about 11:00 PM) for a final do your business run in the back yard. For the past five nights, a spider has set up a web at exactly your face height and woven an artistic masterpiece almost exactly the size of a face. Because of backlighting from the security spotlights, I have seen the web and avoided walking into it each night. This web is an engineering work of art as well, because the top strand runs between two trees that are about 10 feet apart and is pretty much level and about five feet off the ground. There are also several several other anchoring strands that tie the actual web complex to the ground. I have no idea how the spider can figure out this geometry and construct such an amazing pattern. Unfortunately for the spider, every night the dogs go romping through the yard below the web, hit one or more of the ground support strands and collapse the web. So far he has had one confirmed kill which looked to be a 3/4 inch long moth. Strangely enough, Mrs H did NOT want to hear about this piece of nature at work in our back yard!

There are three major economic issues that have been put off by printing money.... unemployment, the debt, and Obamacare.

All are going to hit the economy in the next 6 months... as the Government finds even they can no longer fudge the numbers.

Thus... War in the Middle East.

The reason for the recent walkback on action from the Admin, and others... is that Putin is very angry right now... and Russia IS an Existential threat to the US.

Kerry's speech was all about 'limits'.... trying to convince Putin that a strike is just a symbolic gesture... something that Russia does not need to respond to... as it will be militarily ineffective.

Problem is, that Putin is also angry at Saudi Arabia, and their explicit admission that they control the Chechen Terrorists.... the ones who used gas to kill hundreds of Russian children a few years ago...

So... end game.... Obama in his hubris, because he has lied and cheated his way to power, will strike thinking there will be consequence.... in which case things may very well spin out of control.... like WW1 did...

151 124- Far Cry 2 is one of my favorite games! Like Apocalypse Now, only shallower. And a shooter. (FC3 smoothed out some of the more complicated features that I really dug.) And Saint's Row 2 is the most silly fun you can have with a controller, highly recommended also.
