— Ace Everyone seems aware of CNN's partisan affiliation and ideological leanings except, according to their claims, CNN itself.
The pro-gun-control left should thank CNN. And CNN should accept their gratitude. They are allies. Why continue this charade?
Tuesday, CNN came out of the closet with an open declaration that "The Most Trusted Name In News" would use two full days of programming as a propaganda push for legislation tightening background checks. CNN has been so good about keeping that promise that this morning a pro-gun control Senator thanked a CNN anchor for his support.Wednesday morning on "Starting Point," anchors John Berman and Christine Roman hosted Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), one of the two senators responsible for the compromise legislation on background checks.
...
And then, appropriately enough, the segment ended with Manchin thanking Berman for his support:
Berman: Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia, you've been working around the clock for a compromise deal. I think you have a very busy few weeks ahead of you still.
Manchin: We appreciate your support, too, this is very, very important.

"Senator Joe Manchine, from West Virginia" - which will still show up as a "battleground" or "leaning" or "possible" state for the GOP in future AoS cob analysis.
Sure.

This bill is a strategic victory for Republicans!
Sen Toomey is now viewed as "mainstream" in a Obama state!
and, and, and, he will get favorable media coverage in his re-election campaign and the suburban Philly and Pittsburgh soccer moms will remember this 3 and a half years from now and vote for him!
So shut up!!

When Ted Cruz and Diane Feinstein mixed it up over her hypocrisy on First and Second Amendment rights, Blitzer played only Cruz's setup, with his Civics lesson lecture to Feinstein. They cut the part where he asks her whether she'd support abridgement of First Amendment rights as she supports limiting rights under the Second.
Nobody watching could come away with any other impression but that he was lecturing her in a condescending way. And his very good point was simply cut. Feinstein got maybe a minute of her response in, Cruz one sentence. CNN is disgusting.

And that statement from Chris Cox about the NRA scoring the vote on S. 649 and whatever amendments are offered is just a very clever dog whistle to signal the smart people that the NRA is actually in favor of this most excellent bill that is a victory for conservatives and freedom loving people anywhere, and if you disagree you're nothing more than an inbred troglodyte.

I sincerely hope Ted Cruz is correct in his assessment that this will hand over control of the Senate in 2014 to the Pubbies . This should be after the Usual Gang of Squishy RINO Idiots is replaced, that is.
Why is it that we average Americans in flyover country can clearly understand the meaning of the Constitution and recognize its importance, and our elected officials cannot? Why are we tolerating this?

We seriously need to split this country in two. We are no longer a country of different political persuasions kept together by our common respect for the Constitution and love of country.
One side is constantly trying to minimize and or change the Constitution while also blaming their own Country for the ills of the world.
It is irreconcilable.

Been listening to The Federalist Papers lately. The writers' answer to government over-reach? An armed and non-compliant citizenry engaging in popular insurrection. That, and a (sadly mistaken) belief that the heirs of liberty would never be so stupid or lazy as to let it get this far.
I doubt if the Founders took into account how determined our enemies would become, that they could plant the seeds of division so deeply in American soil that our own officials would be the ones to revoke our rights.
Somewhere, our enemies are smiling and laughing at our stupidity. We freely elected the people responsible for our downfall.

Well, here's what I sent to Sen. Lee, though I doubt he got it in time.
------------
The Founders held the right to bear arms to be so important that they made it the SECOND amendment to the Constitution, after only the right to free speech, free assembly, free exercise of religion; they held it second only, in effect, to freedom itself. They held it more important even than due process of law or the right to a jury of one's peers. If we're willing to infringe on the second most vital amendment to the Constitution, then what's to prevent the infringement of every amendment that follows it?
Had those ten amendments in the Bill of Rights not been passed the Constitution itself would not have been ratified. That is how vital those amendments are, and how come it is only a FOOL who would intrude upon them for petty power points or political gain.
As far as I'm concerned, there is no "gun control" debate. That debate was had back in 1789, and the decision was that gun control is a bad thing, and, "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Case closed.

Clearly far too many in the country have no awe of our founding nor our history. I cannot see how the gap between libtards and the normal folk who want to be left alone can be bridged.

This stuff feeds on itself like fire. The phrase "normal folk who want to be left alone" pretty much addresses the problem. I do not believe that those (we) folks, calm and conservative by nature, can be rallied to any significant action until it is just too late. It is always possible that some charismatic conservative leader will turn up, but it better happen quickly. In the meanwhile, when one looks about, it is obvious that on-the-street conservatives are disgusted, but we don't do much more than talk among ourselves. Meanwhile, the Left is in full-on attack mode at every level.

(The Daily Caller) Eighth graders in Union Grove, Wisc. — a tiny enclave just over the Illinois border — are learning reading, writing, arithmetic and, of course, that conservatives are a bunch of authoritarian, oppressive thugs.
As EAGnews explains, an unnamed eighth-grade teacher in the Union Grove school district assigned a vocabulary crossword puzzle with clues containing “definitions” of liberalism and conservatism.
Conservatism, according to the public school assignment, is “the political belief of preserving traditional moral values by restricting personal freedoms and encouraging prosperity through economic freedom.”
How are impressionable Union Grove eighth graders instructed about liberalism? They are indoctrinated that it is “the political belief of equality and personal freedom for everyone, often changing the current system to increase government protection of civil liberties.”

The current lie for the gun grabbing and confiscation preparation bill is:
Public Safety and Second Amendment Rights Protection Bill.
(as proposed by Senator Toomey and named by memeorandum)
It will not improve Public safety nor does it protect 2A Rights.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED SEN. TOOMEY!!
Wrote him 2 emails; 1 to not do this and the 2nd telling him he was toast for doing this. Too bad my elected representative doesn't listen to me or millions of other PA Citizens. I know his email was getting slammed when I tried to send the 2nd one yesterday and pics I've seen of him, he knows he's screwed up.
I hear Bloomberg threatened ads in PA about him but he's not up for reelection til '16 so why's he concerned? I think The Pipsqueak for NYC had more on him than we know and Toomey caved.
(btw Toomey is NOT a native Pennsylvanian. He moved there sometime after he graduated Harvard. He is also tied to BANKING INTERESTS and was involved in credit swaps, a bane to the economy for us little people.)

Agreed. Socialist government-as-religion wasn't really a factor yet (although the French Revolution was in the same general time frame). I think the advent of instant communication made the jobs of those devoted solely to obtaining power easier as well, and that was something entirely unforseen by the Founders.
Granted, technology has made it easier for those who wish to enslave us to organize and coordinate their efforts.
But when one focuses on Principle, as the Founders did, one recognizes that Evil never stops. The insightful minds that forged our country knew the faults of human nature, and did everything in their power to minimize those faults within government. It's taken over 200 years, but it appears that, by tolerating lies from our leaders, Evil has finally won.
What recourse remains for us? How can we counter the overt efforts of CNN and the other media outlets who are openly trying to brainwash the LIV's to give up their God-given rights? They should be stopped, but how?

B-Boy @ 198 I don't disagree. There've been times that I've almost been in tears listening to The Federalists propound the *how* of keeping a Republic. Their final answer though is always "popular revolt of an armed citizenry" and I fear they were right about that as well (and would have started long ago).
One timeless Principle I understand is: if we do not impose our will upon our enemies, they will impose their will upon us. This is the struggle of history against those who wish to be free versus those who wish to enslave others.
The time is coming for us to free ourselves from the forces of tyranny. We will be forced to impose our will on our masters, and cast off their chains. If we don't insist upon our freedom, in whatever form that takes, we will become slaves.
We are rapidly approaching the point of no return.

And at the graveyard there will be a series of challenges...

I think "Blue America" would still have a good share of "productive" people who want to stay for social, family, and political reasons. These are the people who already don't mind being raped for more than half of what they earn and chastise people for not wanting to "give" more. Fuck 'em. they can stay in NYC or LA and support the FSA to their hearts' content.

No, not in two.
No need to "reinvent" the wheel. Reference check the US Constitution as the Urtext respecting balanced and limited governance...

My meaning is there would probably cease to be those little republics before too long because world powers would move in and annex them. You'd find yourself living under a foreign power. The world hates America, they'd have a Thatcher party at our demise, and continue to party as the rest of the world ate up the left over scraps of the nation.
I think breaking up into states would just be a different flavor of absolute destruction.

Some of us use it to work and don't want to reach over to find something. If you can find it at all. ...remember when I said yesterday that until and unless the NRA publicly announced that they were going to "score" a vote on this background check bill for their legislative report card, that their opposition to it was merely for show?
Well they just announced this morning, via spokesman Chris Cox, that they were indeed going to score this as a "key vote." So whether that was their intention all along, or they got pushed into it by grassroots protest, the NRA's opposition to Manchin/Toomey bill is now official and has 'teeth.'

They then apply parliamentary tricks and turns of phrase to still seem to be representing us but their actual actions aid those who don't.
We take people at their word and the election schedule allows false flag representatives to do a lot of damage before they can be turned out of office. Plus not all of us agree to how much damage they're doing and how much damage would be done by ousting them.
Thus we have people like McCain and Graham and Boehner representing us in name only. Yet they continue to be reelected.
Until we can effectively communicate the condition of the Republic to the citizens, we will be unable to affect much change to revert to a more productive and viable society.
Communications is the key. And the Left has always known that.

Yes. It's pretty clear why The Federalist Papers aren't taught in school any more. Heck, I graduated 20 years ago and they weren't taught then. As a people we have become so much less than our potential and I *hate* those who intended this exact outcome.
Same here. They are despicable sub-humans, playing on emotions, deliberately confusing and lying to gain power and wealth for themselves.
We, on the other hand, recognize Truth when we hear it. We are concerned with providing a safe and loving home for our families, free from unnecessary meddling. We wish merely to be left alone to pursue happiness as we see fit, treating others as we would be treated. This mindset is naturally pacifistic in nature.
That is what must change. We must become much more militant in our defense of freedom than we are now. We absolutely have to start saying "No" to those who wish us to be their slaves, and be willing to back it up.

The word is "infringed," but yeah, same difference.
It's a good question, and we clearly have courts that have decided these rights CAN be infringed, so the question that remains, and I hate being so dramatic about it, but how far are we willing to allow the infringement to go on before we're ready to take up said arms in defense of our liberties?
All I know is we obviously haven't gotten there yet.

We have a guy whose position is CIO of the OIG. He's been sent on 'temporary duty' for the past five months due to multiple charges of harassment, abuse of power, and general conduct unbecoming.
Today, he popped in for a vist 'to see how things were going without [him]' and called a meeting. (First, deposed leaders can call meetings?)
In this meeting he tried to explain why he has an open door policy. In his explanation, he said the following:
"In my experience, when men come into my office with problems, they either have a solution in mind, or are looking to me to provide one. When women come into my office, it's just to vent."
The world stopped turning on its axis, and I pondered the fallout from such a blatantly sexist comment from a person ALREADY in a shit-ton of trouble.
Then, the HR Director guy next to me says, clear as day, and to the room as a whole: "Yeah, I notice that a lot, too. It's frustrating."

No biggy. I put up the definitions to point out the difference. (a large number of the Founders were lawyers and the rest were learned men so they understood the value and importance of the words they used.)
It was not meant as a critique of you personally.

Bayer Night Time, puts me down like a .45ACP to the head. Aspirin is a good thing for old dudes, right?

Pennsylvania is not as purple as people think.
Nobody is going to forget his treachery.
We need an Exorcist! He's possessed by Arlen Specter ... Get it? Specter....ghost? never mind.
