Quiet hero goes under the knife today [Purp]
— Open Blogger

At least one good thing will happen today.

College athlete cuts short his senior year to be a bone marrow donor and save someone's life. DNA said he was a perfect match, a 1:5,000,000 shot.

No. Hesitation. All may not be lost if we're still producing young people like this. Prayers and fast recovery for the both of you.

2 Well now, if that doesn't make you feel like maybe you could have done more, nothing will. What a guy.

such is the "BREASTUS!!" of our desires....

Lets just keep the chat up and swing the conversation where the wind blows

Did I hear something about Mergovin's wine cellar?  CDR's weight room???

Posted by: Richard at April 23, 2013 11:44 PM (y401u)

10 I can only assume you guys are on the left coast. No other good reason for you to be up at this hour. If I have to go back and read the ONTo I will, but what's the deal with with CDRs weight room? I spent 20 years in the fitness insisted.

11 Hospitals are open all night, every night. Left coast, East coast, everywhere.

Posted by: and irresolute at April 24, 2013 12:01 AM (DBH1h)

12 some people work 3rd shift in places other than hospitals.

23 I just put Windows 2000 on an old machine.

That was a damned fine release.  If MS had done nothing other than add device support to it I could have been happy forever.

NT4 was solid but spartan and lacked PnP/USB.
Win98 was nice looking and started adding decent PnP and USB.

Windows 2000 was the best of each smacked together.

30 I got up to let the wee dog teetee and saw the paper guy in my driveway. Now I'll have to spin up my blood pressure by looking at the 'news' though I won't read the paper when I can read aos, and besides who else can bring the appetizers like PA? I wonder if we have milk in the fridge? BTW, raining in east Texas.

31 Okay, the Day Shift is here! I am going to the main office today to renew my 1st Aid CPR Certificate. You all will just have to wait for the mouth-to-mouth until I get back this afternoon.

41 There'd be a lot more if they were allowed to be paid for giving their marrow.

I understand the arguments but to me they're stupid and baseless and condemn thousands to death because of the laws.

42 41 Bitter Clinger,

it all goes back to the fucked up, mutilated, and malignant "morality" of a system that thinks Gosnell went just a step or two too far but that money is "evil"

--I agree.  The donor vendor should not only be allowed to sell, but choose the recipient buyer, in the event he prefers the precious tissue/organ go to someone responsible or grateful.  I say this as someone irresponsible with his liver.

46 This is one of my beautiful American people.

After I read about him, and the mother and daughter in the hospital together in Boston, and all the support they are getting, even from those wonderful, courageous Marines, I'm in tears.

Now all we have to do is get the government to do their part: stop the attackers before they hit so we are not called to so much heroism.
