— Open Blogger So my wife was on a domestic business trip and found this bag of what she thought was licorice. Since I am hopelessly addicted to the stuff she bought it, with the bonus of it being a perfect example of our hopelessly racist society.
Too bad it was thoroughly mediocre "chocolate licorice," whatever that is.

Having lived in Nigeria, Egypt, Spain, Japan, Bahrain, the Philippines, and spending time in another 25+ countries, I can tell you for a FACT it is true; the US is about the Least Racist country in the world; maybe Brazil, and that's it.
The irony about the Boston Bombers is they are Chechens, who claim they are picked on by the Russians (true); but no one is MORE racist than Russians, Eastern Europeans of ALL types, including Chechens; they absolutely HATE "blacks" of any types.
Same with the Asians, especially Japanese, they despise "blacks".
In Egypt, where I lived for years, they refer to "blacks" as "barberi", which is Arabic for "Barbarians". That's what they call them to their faces; they made fun of Sadat because he was half Nubian, and open mocked him because of it.
Open derogatory racism against skin color is an accepted fact anywhere south of the border, from Mexico to Argentina; and those countries are still ruled by the light-skinned elites with either pure Spanish blood, or at least some.
Its time we fight back against the Democrats & the Left/Liberals/Progressives, who use this bullshit issue to keep Republicans/Conservatives off-balance, and turn America into warring factions of grievance factions!

I don't think they are confident that it was just these two. I just got back from the Bruin's game today. There were armed Homeland Security officers as well as bomb sniffing dogs inside TD Garden. They are also wanding everyone as well as doing random searches of the cars going into the parking garage. Neither of those things were done prior to the bombing.

Let's not forget that we DO have a serious racism problem, however. When 97% of one race votes for the guy who they view as being of their race - despite a horrible track record, especially with regard to their building lives for themselves.
What we have here in the US is a the demonization of whites - especially males - as being racist, whether they're racist or not. "While priviledge" is openly taught; "scientific" studies put forward as to genetic predisposition to racism, etc.
Meanwhile, blacks in the US has no compunction about saying any number of racist things, the NAACP is never called "racist", although their very name (and mission) is racist by definition, and we are told that it is literally impossible for a black person to be racist. Yet our last Presidential election gives empirical evidence that most blacks in the US are in-your-face racist.

It's very bad, I know, Chick. I've lived here for a very long time and I see the invaders targeting African-Americans, taking over traditional black neighborhoods (turning them to shit, btw), undercutting them on jobs, since the invaders work every last gubmint bennie to subsidize their lives. It's really one of the saddest things about this whole deal. I came up in the 60s and there was a real opportunity there for the black community. I don't honestly know what went wrong here, but it went very wrong and I don't like it.

There is an aspect to the immigration debate that is often lost. It's that Mexico has been in a narco-civil-war for years now.
And a lot of business owners want cheap labor that takes CASH and requires no taxes, workers comp, unemployment, etc etc etc. It's the regulatory burden that incentivizes that type of employment.

I don't know that the graphic on that bag of candy is racist - or at least intentionally racist. It's a chocolate colored baby because the snack is chocolate licorice - the designer may not have even made the connection. How many black people live in China? None.
I am sure when black people visit China everyone stares at them with curiosity. To the Chinese black people are probably alien and strange - not due to racism but due to the fact that many Chinese may go through their whole lives without ever seeing a black person outside of pirated movies on the Internet.
I highly doubt anyone in China knows who Jesse Jackson is... hell they might not even know who Martin Luther King Jr. is. How should they know that the art on the bag may be distasteful to some?
I actually don't see anything wrong with it... the baby has dark skin but features no other racial signifiers typically used in racist cartoons from the 16 to 1800s such as big lips and low "monkey" brows. What is wrong with racially diverse mascots when presented in such a neutral manner?
Of course, I give everyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to prejudice or racism unless it is overt like the homophobia of the West-burrow Baptist Church or the systemic antisemitism of the New York Times or the BBC.
