Yes Let's Trust the F'n' Government Some More
— Ace

This is a two year old story-- it's coming out now because until recently, the dramatic video had been suppressed.

This woman was sexually assaulted and then threatened with arrest (and the suggestion her kid would be taken from her) if she continued saying she'd been sexually assaulted.

According to internal court documents, as Contreras was leaving, family court marshal Ron Fox ordered her into a waiting room for an unexplained drug search.

Contreras said Fox touched her buttocks, breast, and ordered her to lift up her shirt. A later internal investigation by Clark County courts validated her claims. Contreras went back into the same courtroom and told hearing master Patricia Donninger that her requests to have a female marshal handle the search were ignored.

Oh and the judge did nothing. Just sat there. And she's continued to sit on the bench since.

The marshal has since been fired.

Unbelievable. Unbelievable.

Maybe the worst part is when she's forced, under threat of arrest and maybe of having her kid taken from her, to tell lies in court-- specifically, recanting her first truthful accusation.

From Instapundit.

Saw this a couple of days ago.  There are some real slimy people in that court and it is not the victim.   Lawsuit or no, some people should be in jail.

Which is why you punish corruption and arrogance. Because not punishing it makes things worse, possibly fatally worse, for *everyone*.

Maybe.  There are lots of governments on this planet of ours.  Most of them are so corrupt it's an open joke, like we talk about Chicago, or Mexico.  Revulsion and frustration simply result in a ping pong between one group in power, then the other.  It's a recipe for wars and assassinations, but the people in power stay as corrupt as ever.

171 Think about this: We have "hate crime" laws under the theory that certain crimes have negative consequences beyond the actual crime--that a larger community is effectively intimidated and/or silenced by the action.

So why isn't there similarly tougher sentencing on government officials who abuse their public trust? Doesn't that intimidate and silence citizens?

Actions like this should invite the death penalty. That motherfucking piece of filth used his government power to sexually assaulted that woman and then silence her by threatening to take her child.  And then every other official involved covered it up.

A free society cannot allow that. It's either tougher sentencing or citizens sawing off the heads of people like this and putting it on YouTube as a warning to other government goons.

Otherwise we're all slaves.
