Report: Janet Napolitano To Resign As Secretary Of Homeland Security
— DrewM

Bye-bye Big Sister.

Janet Napolitano, the U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, is being named as the next president of the University of California system, in an unusual choice that brings a national-level politician to a position usually held by an academic. Her appointment also means the 10-campus system will be headed by a woman for the first time in its 145-year history.

NapolitanoÂ’s nomination by a committee of UC regents came after a secretive process that insiders said focused on her early as a high-profile, although untraditional, candidate who has led large public agencies and shown a strong interest in improving education.

UC officials believe that her Cabinet experiences –- which include helping to lead responses to hurricanes and tornadoes and overseeing some anti-terrorism measures -- will help UC administer its federal energy and nuclear weapons labs and aid its federally funded research in medicine and other areas.

On one hand, it's good to be rid of her. On the other, it's not like Obama is going to replace her with someone better.

Well, it's not like the UC system will be any worse than it already is politically.

But isn't there a rule that there must be at least one bulldyke named "Janet" in the Cabinet?

If "the system worked," the only way Nappy would be seeing California is through the barred windows of a prison bus transferring her to Frontera.

One of the (many) things that pisses me off about the Choom Boy regime is that its members go on to other, probably more lucrative, activities, and no one is ever held accountable.

Oh, well. It's the Poppin' Fresh "fairness" way, I guess.

After showing the animated recreation based upon the 911 tapes and the witness accounts, O'Mara told the jury that Trayvon had to go the length of a football field to get back to his dad's girlfriend's apartment and had 4 minutes and 30 seconds to do it. To demonstrate how long that was, he had the courtroom sit in silence for 4:30 and then called for a break.

When was that? It would have been great to meet you, assuming in a mega campus of 30 odd thousand we ever would.

I chose Berkeley because of the name (the Great University Of California Swindle, but it was and is still much cheaper than private colleges), and because it was close enough to go home to San Jose weekends but far enough to be away from home. While it was and I think still is top notch for grad school, undergrads there are essentially cannon fodder, unless they know with absolute certainty their path and Berkeley has a defined program for same. I counsel the undeclared to go elsewhere.

That tells me, at the absolute least, that O'Mara likely has a few jurors in the bag and that a "guilty" verdict is likely off the table. It comes down to whether there is a stubborn juror that refuses to acquit, IMHO.

294 A lot of people have forgotten that "Big Sis" was one of the main "worker bees" behind the televised lynching of Justice Clarence Thomas during his Senate hearings. "Big Sis" was a golden child of Phoenix attorney John Frank, a life long, very liberal democrat, who made "Big Sis" available to the anit-Thomas forces. She's never been made to account for her actions.
