— Ace Frankly, I'm surprised it's not zero.
And I still expect it to have actually been zero -- because I'm sure that there were glitches on the back end, actually communicating with insurers.
But here is why our Secretive, Lying Nixonian President denied the American public information they have a right to -- because it exposed him as the incompetent he is, of course.
For 31 days now, the Obama administration has been telling us that Americans by the millions are visiting the new health insurance website, despite all its problems. But no one in the administration has been willing to tell us how many policies have been purchased, and this may be the reason: CBS News has learned the number is very small.
Early enrollment figures are contained in notes from twice-a-day "war room" meetings convened within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services after the website failed on Oct. 1. They were turned over in response to a document request from the House Oversight Committee.
The website launched on a Tuesday. Publicly, the government said there were 4.7 million unique visits in the first 24 hours. But at a meeting Wednesday morning, the war room notes say "six enrollments have occurred so far."
The next day was a huge day for them -- they got less than 250 enrollments.
In order to meet their goals, they have to enroll 39,000 people per day up to March 1st.
Sebelius said no reliable enrollment figures. Is that because of duplicates in QSSI #s, or was it just a lie? http://t.co/fPohIusGvA

A lie? How dare you suggest such a thing.

Could we be living through a tipping point here? Because, as we know, there is a lot more crud to dump on Barry and the Donks that's been simmering into a nice, hot fetid gruel of fail. And once the press figures out it's them or their man-crush, well, then, 'Fetch-a the mush!'
Especially now, since losing your press job to cutbacks due to nobody watching rehashed administration propaganda masked as 'news' means you lose your gold-plated insurance and get dumped into.........ObamaCare! EEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!

Having thought deeply upon the issue - I asked my liberal friend who went on and on about insurance - why didn't they explore treating the uninsured somewhat like the "high risk motorist" pool.
Let people shop competitivelty for their insurance, and the high risk types (pre-existing conditions, no insurance, et cetera) go into a plan that's specific to them. Should their circumstance change, they could opt-out of the high-risk pool and buy their own, presumably better, plan.
He told me to just shut up. It was a law.

By attempting to turn the blame onto the contractors you *are* defending the Admin and the Dem's who passed the fucking law.
The bill itself is a monster collection of white papers, lobbyist gifts, and bureaucratic feudalism.
It was fucked from the start.
The Dems are the ones that wrote the law, wrote the 10k pages of rules and regs, hired the contractors, gave them the specs, and paid the bills.
There's no amount of arm-waving that's going to change it.

You could probably have parked in their lot to walk to the pizza parlor next door and come back to find them shaking their heads dolefully and recommending a rebuild.
Secret to long life of a transmission of any sort? Change the fluid. Use the correct fluid. Then check it in between changes to make sure it's not getting low. (External trans filters and trans coolers are a bonus.)
Of course, the manufacturers are trying their best to thwart this, with sealed transmissions that have no dipsticks and are filled with "lifetime" fluid.
If buying a car with such a transmission, ask them to put it in writing what "lifetime" means. Your lifetime? That of the car? Or if it's the life of the transmission, ask them to specify in years and/or miles what that life will be. Expect them to get VERY nervous over this matter.

What horseshit. After a couple thousand miles the fluid will come out of a new car looking like translucent metallic paint as parts break in. This is true on automatics or standards.
If you want a trans to have a long trouble free life on a new car, change fluid/filter a few times in the first 5,000 miles.
Seems extreme, but its the only way to get all that microscopic metallic shit out. Left in, it accelerates bearing/seal wear

Oh right. Gaylord is Prospero. And the supporters of 404Care are the people who have flocked to Gaylord's digital fortress as protection against bad health care. Alas they now find that Prospero was full of promises he could not support and death stalks them.

I don't know why every Richard on the planet hasn't stopped calling themselves "Dick" yet. The Straight Dope tells me that dick = penis came about in the 1890s. WTH Dicks? Do you think the slang will go away sometime soon? Its been over 120 years now.

The other followed gimme for Sebelius was when she said "I have affordable care so I didn't sign up!".
So Sec Sebelius, how many senior government officials are exempt from the Obama care enrollment requirements?

Hillary Clinton, in addition to President Barack Obama, is facing declining approval numbers, a poll shows.
Clinton has lost a majority of public approval dropping to 46 percent approval from 56 percent in April, according to the NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey released Wednesday. Thirty-three percent have a negative view of the former secretary of state.
The poll also highlights that Clinton is losing support among younger voters, independents and even within her own party. She dropped 15 percentage points since Aprilposted at WZ

my all time, hands down, favorite adjective is "unfuck."
You have to use is sparingly, but when placed correctly in a solid wearing out it makes the difference.

I have a funny story about that... and it regards probably the next Chief Master Sergeant of the AF, one of my closest friends. We were both E-5's and were picking up a new flight together.
Hilarity ensued. I don't tell those stories in public.

Very small = six? Holy crap. In a design needing to serve many tens of millions, that's a grain of sand in the Sahara.
OMG. Six whole persons possibly served. It's like McDonald's on its first day of existence before starting lunch. The staff ate and then closed down the restaurant.
