So who's the bad guy here? Chad Henderson was not coy about his passionate support of Barack Obama, or his volunteer (???) position with OFA.
And here, he says "Something you should know about me..." and then discloses he's paid to post advocacy stuff.
I'm often labeled "the guy who always talks about politics" and it normally has negative effects lol so I'm here to clear things up: If you were to hang out with me one night and you'll see (sic) I'm not that obsessed with politics at all. Yes, I do post political stuff on here and other social networking sites. But it's for a good reason. For one, I think it's good if people get some insight into the world they live in. Secondly, I work for an organization that pays me quarterly to posts (sic) the political stuff as "advocacy" (so it's kind of my job).
All emphases added. And the (sic)'s, of course.
WTF, MEDIA? Your big ObamaCare Poster Boy, who screamed to the world on social media he had "enrolled" in ObamaCare, actually admits he's paid to post "political stuff" on social media as "advocacy" and it's his fault you got punked?
Maybe next time you should do a little more looking into things than None At All.
Oh wait-- skepticism is the official media position for conservative claims. Progressives are deemed presumptively truthful.
And conservatives, we all know, are always pushing their agenda for political reasons. Or because they're paid by the Koch Brothers.
But progressives, on the other hand, are never paid by Unnamed Shadowy Secret Advocacy Organizations.
They just speak from the heart.
Right?
More: OFA reported his big win, and then Chad Henderson screencapped that social media report and propagated it himself.
@michaeldahmke he screen capped it for our convenience. @AceofSpadesHQ pic.twitter.com/M9mxLheTb2
— ArsAnarTerroRacist (@912gauge) October 4, 2013
That screencap:

Is the media going to ask any Extraordinarily Obvious Questions here or are they afraid of what the answers might be?
via @912gauge, @nykensington. I imagine both are being paid for their advocacy tweets by an unnamed Shadowy Organization.

I'll repost this here using Ace's Spinal Tap analogy:
So the one guy in the Spinal Tap audience who thinks they're awesome is really a roadie for Spinal Tap who thinks they're awesome.
But he wasn't really in the audience and hasn't seen them play, but has picked out his seats and knows it's going to be a kick-ass show.
Check.

Still, even if that's true, shouldn't it have come up in the fact-checking part of the media slobberfest?
Media: "I see you posted on Facebook that you a paid advocate for progressive causes. Is that correct?"
Chad: "No. I was just joking."
Media: "THANK GOD! We'll just ignore that entirely, then. Let's move on..."

Yeah. Every pulse of Fall rain will get them charging upriver. Are you gear fishing or fly fishing?
Either way. Concentrate on 3-6 foot deep runs that are moving at a relaxed 'walking' pace. They will bunch up and rest in these. The closer to the main current these pieces off-water are, the more likely they are to hold fish.
Old side channel cuts, and the seams off the inside of the bottom of almost any island are a good place to start looking.
Also, above or below any concentration of fisherman. They get annoyed and will slide up or down in a run to find a zone where they aren't getting pressure.

Oh, and also off topic, but good to see Nero is having fun while Rome burns! From the Daily Mail (because our effing media won't bother to print this):
While many government employees entered their third day of the shut down either furloughed or working without pay, President Obama sat for a photo shoot.
Photographer Tony Powell posted on his Facebook on October 2 that he would be shooting the president one-on-one the following day.
Today, he posted a photo from the shoot showing the president staring off into the distance in front of a white background.

JournoList 3.0?
Sure, they're ideologically indistinguishable as organizations that could glom on to something lightning quick, but it could easily be - as history proves - that there's resurgent explicit collusion going on.
There's JournoList 2.0 which is the wink-wink, plausible deniability list where ideologues derive the same story at the same time (like a hive mind); but this smells different. That's why I suggest JournoList 3.0 which is a more tightly controlled JournoList 1.0.

I had a medical procedure done this morning, and one of the forms said if I was unhappy with any part of said procedure that I should contact the HHS Secretary! Anyone else see this yet?
Wow! That's crazy! Yeah, because lawyers (who's golden tort eggs remain untouched with Obamacare) don't have enough to do. I wonder too, when patients are suppose to start ratting out their doctors. They already got the ball rolling with pediatricians asking children about guns in homes, etc. We are basically creating a Communist type of situation where everyone is spying on each other and ratting them out for behavior or statements made against the gubamint. We are living in truly scary times.

My friend doesn't do the fly and doesn't want to.
Well, if you have a fly rod, try nymphing those seams. Beadhead stonefly with an ersatz egg tagged 8-10" behind it. Hell, I've had great days on a #10 Prince. Whatever you choose : you want a rig that is about 18-24" deeper than the run and concentrate on getting a perfect, near vertical, dead drift.
If you are gear fishing, try side-walking spoons across and down through the runs and the insides of the slow sweaping turns.
...and be prepared to run. Like tying into a freight train when you can get them to eat.

Yes and yes. There will be steady downward pressure on physician reimbursements, while linking payment incentives to certain preferred behaviors (like utilizing electronic records), while support staff will need to be increased in order to comply. Look for lots more physician extenders (NP's, PA's) of limited knowledge, capability and experience, coupled with longer wait times for getting to a doc who can actually deal with a problem.

Although now a Christian, I became immersed in Zen Buddhism for several years when I was younger--involvement in Zen was a kind of natural progression in the martial art I was studying at the time--and no, while Buddhism may be different things to different people, it is not a nihilistic religion. Why you would make that claim, I have no idea. Maybe you read a fragment of the Diamond Sutra at some point and came away with that (mistaken) impression. Some do.

Yup, we were talking about this at work the other day. You are basically going to have all kinds of medical personnel operating out of their legal scope of practice (or what use to be legal scope of practice). There will be a new normal. And the fact that Obamacare didn't address tort reform (and you cannot have meaningful health care reform without tort reform here in America) is going to be ugly. Medical malpractice litigation and identity theft are going to go through the roof with this disaster crap sandwich.

If I lose the job, or the job dumps the insurance, and I have to go on these exchanges to purchase something, it will be useless. Even if I were able to afford the premiums, I'd never be able to afford the deductibles or co-pays that are available.
This whole thing is insane!

Yeesh! With all this free birth control and aborting going on, why is it there are still single mothers having children they cannot afford? Today, on Rush, he read some boo hoo article about these single moms who are worried about losing their WIC benefits. The one woman has 2 children under 5 plus a baby. She gets $200 a month for them. Nowhere in the article are the baby daddies mentioned. (I wonder with the woman who has 3 kids if there is more than 1 baby daddy). Anywho, at the end of the article, it said that the state of PA will be able to fund the program til the end of the month thanks to a surplus leftover from last year's federal funding. A surplus left over from last year--I can't get over that! Obviously, the WIC program in PA is well funded by the feds to have monies from a previous year still available in the 10th month of this year.

Simple. More kids == bigger welfare checks.
Its been incentivized. The kids get fed Brawndo and Kaboom, and mom spends the difference getting baked.

Jesse, you actually have a key point, which along with a few others, is an outline of what SHOULD be done about "health care".
If the affordability of "health care insurance" (leave alone for now the frankenstein that it ALREADY was, only a small part of which was true insurance) is an issue - as, say affordability of adequate nutrition, or affordability of housing, or affordability of college tuition - then, what is to be done?
Well, in all those other cases, we don't turn that entire segment of the economy upside-down, shred the constitution, alter/destroy the relationship between citizen and state. We essentially hand out vouchers (publicly-owned housing being generally a predictable disaster that has been moved away from). We transfer resources. They're even called "transfer payments".
So, want more "access" to "health insurance"? Simple: hand out vouchers, means-test eligibility, the usual shtick. Done. Oh - and expand Medicaid. Now, really done (actually this is the only part of the Obamacare debacle that, in our current alternative reality, makes "sense"). Two thousands pages of legislation? Tens of thousands of pages of regulations? Thousands of employees? WTF? Just hand out vouchers.
Has anyone - any elected official, any "journalist", anyone - EVER confronted the idiots with this simple, clear, and irrefutable debunking of the entire Obamacare atrocity? That this has not happened, and has not meant the quick political death of the idiocy, has forever changed my estimate of my fellow citizens and this country. I have tortured a few acquaintances and family members - all smart, effectively dumb, politically clueless coastal elite types who listen to NPR and think it's impressive .... THAT clueless - and so far, 100% success rate. Nobody even stammers a distraction question - they're just silenced and shocked. They've never even thought of it (facepalm).

Oh - and it's kind of academic now, given the degradation of the country, the collapse of its institutions, the cretinization of the elites and electorate - but the malicious, unbelievable attack on the citizenry via the National Park Service and other agencies as part of the shut-down theater really IS, finally, the last straw. Last straw, that is, in terms of evaluating whether we really do any longer live in a country recognizable and respectable as America once was.
The Miramar Air Show is, typically, the largest public event (by attendance) in the western US each year. This year, because of the idiotic "sequester" (thanks, spineless clueless GOP), the show had already been scaled way back, Blue Angels grounded, etc etc. The show had been reconfigured to be totally self-supporting, financially and in terms of personnel.
Well yesterday - Thursday - DOD tells the base commander to cancel it. TODAY was going to be Day One of a scaled-back show. You can imagine: vendors already set up, travelling acts already here, food purchased, all other arrangements made. So now many small businesses will take a huge hit, some will be ruined, by this indefensible last-second cancellation. It is like the outrageous situation with the WWII Memorial, Blue Ridge Pkwy, Mt. Vernon, Normandy cemetery, etc. - no public expense is incurred in these attractions functioning as they normally do, so nothing is saved by closing/cancelling anything.
A purely malicious bit of vandalism by the US Govt. against some admittedly sketchy characters - WWII vets on their last legs, people who travel far to pay homage to America's greatest accomplishments, citizens interested in history, good vendors who generate revenue for the govt. and serve the public, families who every year go to Miramar for a spectacular mostly free event highlighting service, technology, and human spirit.
It's not just that, in the humorous internet phrase, my outrage meter is broken. So is my respect for this country and its citizens. They are not, in any substantive, historical, and meaningful sense that I recognize, "Americans". They just happen to live here, and this is just a place.
My disgust is not reserved for the clueless, arrogant, ignorant, authoritarian, alien, racist, greedy, repugnant creatures inside the Beltway (a mindset, not just a geography) - they are beneath contempt and have been for a long time. But that their degradation of the country can continue - even escalate - without ANY popular push-back - that generates contempt for the creatures around me such that they are not fellow "citizens" in any way that matters.

No cost?
How about your doctor (GP, not OB/GYN) now asking detailed sexual history questions and recording the answers in the Obamacare hub where HHS, IRS, and anyone at your local OFA, La Raza, ACORN, etc. can view it?
But yeah, please get those Republicans out of your vagina, right?
