The Texas Department of Public Safety has been confiscating items that pro-abortion protesters sought to smuggle into the senate hall as they work to pass HB 5.
During these inspections, DPS officers have thus far discovered one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint. All of these items – as well as significant quantities of feminine hygiene products, glitter and confetti possessed by individuals – were required to be discarded.

These unhinged protesters are nothing new. I used to go to a major annual pro-life demonstration on the west coast. I have never seen hatred like I did from the "counter-protesters" (the pro-abortion crowd). It was foaming at the mouth screaming, literally. And cursing, middle fingers, throwing condoms, etc. All of this directed at a crowd of mostly families, lots of young people, all of whom were either singing, praying, or being silent.
Every year the media would ignore the venomous hatred evident from the pro-abortion protesters.

It's a constant challenge. Whenever I've gotten into highly charged debates with liberals, they always get overly emotional and try to drag you down to their level, often with ridiculous personal insults that are intentionally meant to anger me. When you're a kid, if people severely antagonize you like that -- and their comments really cross a line (e.g., kids used to say horrible things about my disabled little sister) -- you can smack them around. I admit doing that when I was a kid as I'd rather get suspended or detention than watch myself or my sister be demeaned, insulted, bullied, or threatened. But you simply can't do that when you're an adult, especially over something relatively frivolous like a political debate. So, add me to the list of people wanting to find an appropriate and effective way for adults to deal with horrible people like these protestors.

Last week Lauren told us about how the pro-abortionists acted at a rally she attended and it got me thinking. She said the protesters were so well-organized in their roles they were literally color-coordinated.
So, here's what we can do and it's simple. We infiltrate these protests as one of them. We make signs, wear the shirts, masks, the whole thing. Then, in the middle of their circle-chants, we knock them over like dominos. If we do it right, they won't know what's going on, who to blame. Then we leave and laugh, in that order.

Another thing, let's say that one of us did get in the faces of these protesters and it turned violent. The media would of course would spin it negatively on us.
But how many on our side would jump right in and join the Left and media and condemn the action? A lot. And that's even worse that what the Left does to us. Furthermore I could see a doctor trying to argue that (potentially) lying to one's wife (even simply a lie of omission) is bad for overall psychological health.
Not that I buy the whole "everything is health" argument but it's winning the day.
I didn't say "It's a good thing." I said I'd be willing to be it passes the legal sniff test. Which I find a bit disturbing (but on the flip side of the coin, conscience protections are a good thing, so I don't know how to fit those two widgets together.)

Doctors are prohibited from discussing anything about you, as a patient, to anyone else.
It became law because of the HIV thing.
So, if a Doctor is prohibited from warning a spouse about an HIV-positive diagnosis...I don't see how they can withhold doing a vasectomy without a wife's permission.

I went and dug up Instapundit's recent post on this. He had three links - two to previous Instapundit articles where men described having had that exact experience happen to them (one of whom brought it up because it contrasted with what happened when his wife had her tubes tied), and an article where a woman talked about it happening to her and her husband and that it seemed to be a widespread and accepted practice by doctors. Someone did bring up the same privacy concerns that you did. But if a doctor simply says, "I refuse to perform this procedure unless your wife is aware of it," does that constitute a violation of privacy?

In college, word got out that a certain guy was er, interested in certain feminine bodily fluids. I steered as far I as could away from him, and so did other women I knew. Carrying a child to term and either raising him or her or giving the child up for adoption is difficult and requires character and maturity. And we know how much character and maturity they have.

On the upside, Texans are proud of our State Treasures. This stunt has put the protestors beyond the pale for even the media cheerleaders.... Our local station actually gave it's first negative comments about the protestors today.... and I personally tagged the story on my State Reps Facebook page since she has stated that she proudly supports Planned Parenthood (and in fact was going to be hosting a local event with Richards and Wendy Davis tonight - until the vote was moved up).
