15 The composer of the original "Mission: Impossible" theme, Lalo Schifrin, wrote a "Cantata for the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" for the LA Phil in 1967. It was reviewed in Life magazine. It was pretty graphic, and nobody had the proverbial shit hemmorhoid over it. Of course, Schifrin is Jewish, but it's not as if the current Tannhauser was actually pro-Nazi or anything.

Let's say you don't think Wagner gets a bad rap (him being dead for decades before the first big modern German anti-semitic political movements began). Even at that, how does Richard Strauss get such a nice free ride, having been an actual kulturminister in the Reich government? I don't get it.

22 From an advance article from The Weekly Standard: Within 24 hours of the attack, the U.S. government had intercepted communications between two al Qaeda-linked terrorists discussing the attacks in Benghazi. One of the jihadists, a member of Ansar al Sharia, reported to the other that he had participated in the assault on the U.S. diplomatic post. Solid evidence. And there was more. Later that same day, the CIA station chief in Libya had sent a memo back to Washington, reporting that eyewitnesses to the attack said the participants were known jihadists, with ties to al Qaeda. http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/benghazi-scandal-grows_722032.html

28 In retrospect, it is puzzling why Romney scrapped the attack angle on Benghazi. But I think at the time, he felt like he was getting no traction on this, and actually getting push back from the Media (Candy Crowley). Some smart guys probably thought this was some kind of "media mistake", although they forgot (doh!) that one of their jobs was to energize the base, which this would have done. Modern politicians (all of them, except maybe Ted Cruz) are all too afraid of the Media. They are really afraid of offending these pompous assholes on the networks and the major news organs.

33 How about this:

A worldwide team of cyberthieves stole $45 million from ATMs in dozens of cities over seven months. Details of the first-of-its-kind, high-tech robbery became public when prosecutors unsealed an indictment against eight men accused of carrying out the portion of the attack in the New York City area. "This was a 21st-century bank heist that reached through the Internet and spanned the globe," said Loretta Lynch, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

========
1) $45 million?
2) That's one 7-month operation and they've only the 8 guys in the US.

How much more do they not know?

Recall the plot from Live Free or Die Hard, the "each hacker only does a small part and has no idea what the big picture is?" Wanna bet these guys get off light as they've no knowledge of the real crime?

Hicks says the state department told him not to meet with a fact-finding congressional delegation visiting Tripoli and then insisted that a state department lawyer be present.

When that lawyer was blocked from the meeting because he didn't have security clearance, Hicks says he got a "very angry" call from Clinton's chief of staff.

"A phone call from that senior a person is generally considered not to be good news," Hicks says. "She was upset. She was very upset."

Hicks says he was told he shouldn't pursue his questioning of why the talking points as pronounced by Ambassador Susan Rice had been wrong.

Interesting question.  Do the Wagner-haters just like Strauss's style better?  And the Vienna Philharmonic was full of practicing Nazis, but they haven't gotten any flack about it until very recently, now that all the practitioners are dead.

Kind of an interesting story about him on Wikipedia, he was apprehended at the end of the war by a group of Americans that included the principle oboeist of the Pittsburgh Symphony, who turned out to be the father of Q.

From the Newsbusters link:

>>hile the discussion was heralded as the liberal host taking on another member of the Democratic Party, the truth is that Rice was no longer being considered for the cabinet post, so the interview had little impact.

This is what pisses me off the most: the media deserves no credit whatsoever for covering this after her consideration for a cabinet post or after TFG's re-election.

It's worse than not covering it.

They want to be able to claim they do go after Democrats.

They lie.

Running the story this year after sitting on it in an election year is only an attempt to bury it* and buy back a little credibility.

What this administration, state dept, msm, etc forget is that even peons like me knew intelligence had intercepted, on 9/11/01, communications about the four huge terrorist attacks in the USA. So, we are "supposed" to believe, twelve years later and billions spent on security and our military intelligence and drones and stuff...that "they had no idea" except maybe an obscure youtube video protest spreading through the Middle East WHEN MOST OF THESE BARBARIANS DO NOT KNOW WHAT A YOUTUBE IS! And! There were no security cameras or satellites beaming on the scene for the Pentagon to know what was going on, either! Um, I think Charlene Lamb, bless her, laid an egg in the first hearing about that one! You know, how she (State Dept), WH, Pentagon, DoD, DHS, etc were all, instantly, beamed in and watching, live, the fire and murder of four Americans. The media, if they have a shred of intelligence left, should know this genie in the bottle is out. They should save their own skins. We shall see. I can assure you, however, the narrative will be to blame Bush, WMD, and the "right-wing racist Republicans" vs looking at dangerous incompetence for this nation. I just want the truth to hit the MSM so Americans can decide for themselves.

This is what we know about the video angle.

Al-Nas in Egypt showed it after it got practically no hits on You Tube.

Morsi allowed that.   Morsi is Obama's guy and Obama is a Muslim Brotherhood guy  according to  the  Egyptian  opposition.

The Muslim Brotherhood always leads every charge to fan the flames of Muslim outrage over perceived insults to Islam, even if they have to make some of them up as they did when  they   added  really  obscene   cartoons  when  the   Jyllands  Posten's   actual cartoons  were too tame.

There is a years long campaign in the UN to globalize Islamic blasphemy laws using modern language of speech codes and diversity terminology from the Left.   The Muslim Brotherhood has pushed that here and in our government for years.

Hillary backed that finally in 2011, after long US and western opposition,  by pushing UN Res.  16/18 to passage.

So if talking points get filtered through the US government, the most likely outcome is the PC / Muslim Brotherhood angle.  This applies with extra force in counterterror where Spencer Akerman and the MB flacks in government expunged all jihad related education for field agents in counterterror, also in 2011.

Which functionally means the Russians can tell you about a jihadi who watches mujahid  porn all damn day long, travels and meets with jihadis in Russia and nobody in counterterror gives a shit.

66 So This Was A Terrible Idea

You mean An Idea So Awesome It's Forbidden.

Wagner's music is astounding, mostly, and all the music I love descends from his...and he also pretty much caused the Holocaust. Long story!

Near the end of it, Hitler was given his official entree into national political life by Wagner's family. (If you don't know what sort of event I mean, it's minimally analogous to Ayers introducing Obama to the Chicago machine, a job interview w/ the Real Guys, and at the end they go "You're in" (or not)).

That imprimatur from carriers of the master's blood was decisive. Without it, nothing that followed would have been possible. And what followed was not a series of accidents.

You're not allowed to talk about this, especially in Germany. "Hitler was a Wagner fan" is the limit of acceptable inquiry; anything else has...implications.

78 This is what we know about the video angle.
Al-Nas in Egypt showed it after it got practically no hits on You Tube.
Morsi allowed that. Morsi is Obama's guy and Obama is a Muslim Brotherhood guy according to the Egyptian opposition.
==========
Yup.

There's something like only 5% of Libyans and only 20% of Egyptians have internet access--to say nothing of whether they even know of  YouTube.

That simple statistic right there is enough to prove this was a top-down, elite, leader-driven operation.

The mob was a cover for the real operation.

Petraeus didn't get to be a general by being naive how things work.  He rose through a highly politicized process full of people with high aspirations to attain what he did.  I'm not sure what was in play to keep his fucking yap shut but being naive about things just isn't possible.

81 Amazing how media companies owned by liberals are immune to market forces.  Al Gore refused to sell his stake in Current TV to conservatives and instead sold out to Al Jazeera.  The owners of Newsweek rebuffed non-liberal suitors and sold the magazine to the husband of Dem ex-Congresswoman Harmon for a buck.  The Sulzbergers sold a hefty 7 percent of NY Times Company Class A stock to Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu.   It seems once a popular media company is on the block, offers from non-liberal entities are ignored.

Sweetest little kid ever. Even though her father is one of the biggest shitstains I've ever met. So, obv, her education was all screwed up because she was in the hospital so much and couldn't be exposed to a lot. She did get to go to 1st grade. The school system was great about it. Everyone knew it was just so she could experience it. First day she's there, the principal personally takes her to introduce her to all the first grade classes. As they're headed back to her class, my cousin says "Aren't there more? I want to meet them all." "No sweetie, we've met all the first graders." "No, I mean aren't there other kids? Other classes?" "Well, yes." "I want to meet them. I want to meet all the kids." So the principal spent most of her morning taking her from classroom to classroom and they met everyone.

93 WASHINGTON — After a whirlwind first day in the nation’s capital that included a visit to Capitol Hill, The White House and the British Ambassador’s residence, Prince Harry was up bright and early and in uniform for a somber visit to Arlington National Cemetery. By around 8:30 a.m., a large crowd of schoolchildren and royal watchers were waiting for him, on a beautiful and tranquil morning at the nation’s best known national military cemetery, in the Virginia suburb across the Potomac from Washington. The young royal, a captain in the British Army who just returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan as a helicopter pilot, went first to Section 60 of the cemetery where soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan are buried. He placed a wreath at one of the graves with a message: “To my comrades-in-arms of the United States of America, who have paid the ultimate price in the cause of freedom. Captain Harry Wales” He is to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider during a solemn ceremony there, as well. Dressed in his blue dress uniform with the sky-blue cap, Harry walked among the graves, grasping his hands behind him in the classic Windsor stance, as seen in live pictures shown on CNN. Following his visit to the cemetery, Harry will make his way to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to spend time with wounded veterans. When he wraps up his tour of D.C., the prince will head to Colorado Springs, where he’ll cheer on vets at the Warrior Games. From there, he’ll be in New Jersey and New York on Monday and Tuesday to tour Hurricane Sandy damage, promote British tourism and attend a charity fundraiser. This trip across the U.S. won’t be all work, though. The final leg of his trip will allow Harry to relax a bit as he plays in a polo match in Greenwich, Conn., a game that will also serve as a fundraiser for his African charity. He's OK in my book

I'm tired of that being used as an "explanation" for letting four people die without coming to their defense.  I want to believe that Petraeus is better than that but I still don't have any concrete evidence to support that.

Posted by: Captain Hate at May 10, 2013 07:05 AM (2HHMh)

95 So let me get this right.
There is an app that targets CCW holders, and then geo tracks their every move.  The app also has access into their most private information, including but not limited to, facebook info, contact info, known associates, family members, texting history, and web history.

Then the app takes that info and uploads it to a central site where it is in the safest of hands.

Brawndo!  It has what plants crave!

101 Spontaneous anarchy in Detroit?  I don't think so.  That is the way people used to do things before big government butted in.  Fire protection was by subscription; the system is still in use in some parts of the country.  That's not anarchy; that's doing things better than big government.

104 What I don't understand is why the MSM continues to suckle at the Obama Adminsitration teat (yeah, I get the "fellow travelers part, thx). I mean, are things really better for them now, from a business point of view? Weren't they getting more traffic and page views (hell, maybe even selling more NEWSPAPERS) back in the good old days of bash Teh Bushhitler and Repulicansarescum? Seems to me that the best thing for them would be to try to get an R back in the White House so they can back to business as usual as (fake) journalism outfits. Has to be easier to just make stuff up that people will fall all over themselves to read than trying to coo and warble to try to find out what will please the Government Masters ™. Unless, of course, they really like that sort of thing.

As for me, I don't care about the bombers either.

108   51  . . .  In other not so great news, my pet guinea pig "Oreo" (because he's coloured just like one), doesn't look like he will last the weekend. Some sort of internal problem is making it very hard for him to breathe and move about, and the vet said it doesn't look good. We are trying to make him as comfortable as we can. He's had 5 long years of life, getting fat, playing in the backyard, and making friends with the cat and dogs. It's his time to go up to the big glass cage in the sky.

I lived with a little part-Persian cat who was named that by her previous people.  Not only her coloring, but the fact she was little and round and sweet, made it a perfect name.  She passed on into the Long Sleep about five years ago, and I still miss her.  You'll always remember your Oreo.

I'm sure double-naught Stedman will be right on this to prove that they were juiced up on steroids that came from the US.  Right after that maybe he can scrutinize those persistent rumors that the original Malcolm X was bumped off by Calypso Louie's band of bow tie wearing freaks from his black Scientology cult of al-Rahn Hubbard.
