The DC driver has been identified.

She was a 34 year old dental hygienist. She had a history of mental issues.

The one-year-old child in her backseat was unharmed.

We don't know what caused this, but the left was pretty sure.

They were also hoping Boehner and Cruz would be shot.

Another day in the Former States of America.

62 GOP should propose to restore funding to the entire govt just the way they are proposing to do so for the NIH and the memorials/cemetaries. Not a line item veto, but a line item restoration. If someone wants a program/department restored to funding, they need to justify it and get support for it. Then, when the total expense of programs restored has reached the annual revenue of the govt - bingo! - the budget has been balanced. Then the Dems would be the ones trying to justify going into debt to fund squirrel fucking research, bailouts to big labor, money for abortions, etc etc.

I've personally known women with mental illness who've had to make that decision ... going off a psychoactive drug that they've taken daily for 10-15 years in hopes of having a kid. They don't want to be crazy. But they want a kid even more. So they risk it and hope for the best.

On Brett Baier's show on Fox , Greta said the woman had been talking to the Park police right before all this happened. Maybe she was asking for directions, tried to turn around, hit the gate, then when she saw the guns drawn, just freaked out. Her sister talked to the press and said she was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I think it is CYA time for DC police. I think they thought of the Navy Yard shooter and shot first. Why would they shoot an unarmed woman?

I just can't stop thinking that the police were shooting at a vehicle with an innocent baby inside. I know the reports say she was supposedly using her car as a weapon. It's a tragic story all around, but after the initial "glee" about tea partiers and shooting Boehner, wonder if we'll get the whole story since it didn't turn out to fit the usual prog narrative.
