The Perils Of Intranational Turmoil

We still have national enemies. And they are watching our polarized state, and looking to press on the divisions, break us open where we're cracking, find ways to spark the tinderbox that is our national politics.

OAKLAND (CBS SF) – A federal terrorism task force arrested a man they said intended to detonate a car bomb in front of an Oakland bank in the hopes of sparking a civil war by making the bomb blast appear to be the work of anti-government “militias.”

He was hoping to go to Afghanistan and join the Taliban. I'll leave it to you, dear Morons, to elucidate why he seemed to know there would be no profit in pinning his villainy on (currently pro-government) lefties.

Why, you would almost think that the establishment was of the Left; and that it was slavering over the prospect of a general crackdown against conservatives, and that this mutant had somehow sensed that current in the zeitgeist.

And if he sensed it, then how long do we have before framing 'militias' becomes a fashion?

It goes without saying, the debt we all owe to the FBI, and everybody else who is standing on that wall.

Why would a pro-Taliban guy attempt such an attack now?  He is pretty much getting what he wants from Obama - pulling out from Afghanisan, starving our military, and collapsing our economy.

 

But I certainly would not put it past some Bill Ayers-type militant leftists to do some of these false-flag bombings.  It's blindingly obvious that the Left now feels it has the upper hand and wants to completely crush the Right in this country.

40 A couple of observations:  seems to me the Llaneza guy is a few fries short of a Happy Meal. Wouldn't the normal paranoid loner be kind of suspicious of a Taliban-buddy that could just magically procure explosives, detonators, an SUV and a storage unit? Looks like the FBI plant pretty much did all the grunt work for him, leaving him only enough "decisions" to make a conspiracy charge stick.


I sort of wonder if it's not a misallocation of resources for the cops to spend so much effort "helping" those no-hoper loners to realize their evil plans, perhaps at the expense of monitoring known groups that may indeed have the capability?


And I don't think the typical Zero-Hedge reader would cheer on such an assault against a bank, since most of them figure the banking system is going to implode, anyway.

Our political elites envy the totalitarian power that is offered by Islam.  They also want their domestic opposition to be exterminated and are prefectly willing to make deals with foreign enemies.

I'll admit to being a little torn about this fellow hunting  the LAPD. Granted, he's a murdering lunatic and I cannot even imagine how he's justifying his actions to himself. But if it plants a seed in the minds of those cops who do tend toward abuse and corruption that they are not immune to consequences, then some good can come of this!

 

Like when a guy shoots his wife and her lover in his bed--wouldn't recommend this but people involved in these affairs need to know that tears and recriminations is about the best possible scenario.

Heh- saw a local TV news report out of SoCal today, quoting the San Bernardino Sheriff as saying when they found Dorner's truck that there were footprints in the snow near the truck that "did not lead in any specific direction."  I had two thoughts.

 

#1-  If you look at a footprint, there is a heel and a toe, and the toe would seem to indicate a specific direction

 

#B- If the footprints didn't lead in a specific direction, would that indicate the suspect was walking in a circle, at which point they could easily apprehend him within that circle.

My uncle was a small motor boat repairman in the USN in 'nam....

he was not "combat hot" nonstop BUT he was wounded on one of his maybe ~10 missions he went out into indian country by a 13 year old with an SKS....

He could NOT use the twin MGs on a kid the kid acted like he was gonna go back under and then snapshot him through the elbow....

if the guy was even in a support capacity with the Naval Warfare group or Riverines he may have gotten SERE school and had ample opportunity to get specialized training at the initial entry level of briefing without too much practical lab woork at the skills and doctrine.

Hard telling...you'd need his 2-1 to know what his certs are.

240 well, Donner went up into the woods, ostensibly to hide for a bit- but his truck crapped out on him and he had to set out on foot. Then it started snowing up there. So he's on foot with (supposedly) a shitload of guns and ammo. So- he needs a vehicle, because that shit is heavy, more so in the snow. He either has to steal one or somehow get another. If the guy was smart enough, and if he left the truck at Big Bear as a diversion, it would be easy enough to deliberately break an axle, or a drive shaft. Leave it in two-wheel drive, get it planted in a snowbank, and get one rear wheel spinning at an indicated 90 MPH on the speedo. Slam into reverse. Rinse and repeat. Sooner or later, something vital will break. Result: convincing breakdown to support the notion he's nearby and on foot.

He's 33 years old or so....

that's old for a captain unless he went green to gold late.

He was part of an MIUSW support group whose mission profile includes force protection profile actio including logistics, port security, and establishing beachhead operations....

which leads me to believe....

he is at least of averageish competence and has the Coin training he was bragging on...

hell this is the guy who was working in an S-3 tasked with winnowing out likely threat profiles to port operations I'd bet.

More likely he broke the truck axle while en route to his vehicle swap point.  No plan ever quite goes perfectly.  He would then have packed out what he could carry and scuttled what he had to leave behind.

If he is still alive, most likely he is back in LA in a prepared safe house.  If not, they will another abandoned vehicle not far from the truck and his body somewhere between the two vehicles.
