The White, White World of Aaron Sorkin
— Ace

This Aaron Sorkin supercut demonstrates that he recycles the same lines over and over again throughout all the shows and movies he writes. But it also demonstrates something else: Everyone in Aaron Sorkin's ideal fantasy worlds is white, except for Dule Hill, D.L. Hughely, and Benson.

More crap like this here.

The other thing I noticed is that Aaron Sorkin is just stuff he ripped off of David Mamet's early work mixed with "Friends." From David Mamet he took the dialogue that alternates between artificially clipped and artificially long as well as New Faux City sayings he's heard Ethnics say on TV ("Not for nothin'"). The "Friends" part is the sitcomy Cutesy Banter, the Sassy Catchphrasing, and the frequent Reversions to Childhoood (raspberries, head-slaps, sticking out of tongues).

lol!

You know, I just realized what    Aaron Sorkin    television and cinema reminds me of.   You know how in the "Star Wars" prequels    you get a lot of boring walking and talking, with no real action outside of the occasional highly choreographed lightsaber duel,       during which     you pray      both sides end up dead?

Take out the lightsaber duels and replace them with shouted conversations    with big    arm    gestures and you've described every single thing Aaron    Sorkin has ever written.

The prequel duels look cool on the first go round, but when you see 'em a second time they suck. Lots of spinning sabers for show, and most damning, the dominant fencing technique seems to be "turn your back to the enemy and swing your lightsaber over your shoulder".

Bewitched : One had Willie Mays in a cameo appearance

I Love Lucy

195 Even A Few Good Men was lily white.  Well, the 3D characters were.  There was the Macguffin, Private Santiago.  All of Sorkin's Macguffins are minorities, especially if they're dead.

Also, there was the one black soldier.  Not the stupid one, he was white, the one of moderate intellect (though not as smart as the lawyers, you see, lawyers are super-smart and always good, even Kevin Bacon the opponent, was not tainted by any evil thoughts).

Of course, he was just the Greek Chorus and since he had absolutely no character flaws, it was OK that he be nonwhite.

196 Speaking of puffy faces, success went straight to that guy's waistline. Kind of like Bruce Willis getting successful, and then losing all his hair. OTOH, for playing a rich 40-ish NYC-based writer his waistline is just about perfect. It's after Castle goes away that he'll be in trouble.

200 You guys are fancy. I always figured I'd just wind out some bones on a plain gnawed by wolves. I think I'd rather be eaten by wolve than worms, assuming, of course, I'm dead first. You might as well go for the cheapest alternative, cremation. In a couple billion years, when the Sun goes Red Giant and engulfs the Earth, the entire planet is going crispy critter. Not only that, you can annoy the hell out of your family as they figure out just what-in-the-hell to do with an urn filled with ashes.

I’m hoping ‘Star Trek-Post Reboot No. 2’ will be as much of a laugh riot as the first one.

Spock -- HeÂ’s a REBEL!

Scotty -- HeÂ’s a REBEL!

Bones -- HeÂ’s a... Drunk.

203 The Newsroom ratings are anywhere from 1.4 to 2.4 mil but mostly in 1.7 range. The 2.4 was for the season finale. Boardwalk Empires by HBO pulls in around 6 mil. AMC is kicking their asses with TWD pulling in over 8 mil. Plus, the viewers have increased by 30% over last year. That's a big deal.

219 Who would do the voice over for Ace's posts? The one time Ace was on FOXnews- I remember thinking his voice sounded a lot like that "Carlton the Doorman" voice coming from the buzzer in... ...eh, maybe "Rhoda"? So, yeah, that guy.

221 186 You know, my wife loves watching Gilmore Girls reruns, and that's the thing I can't stand about it. All of the characters sound exactly the same! Everybody is just absolutely cutesy-clever all the dang time, and talk like they're trying to squeeze a 10 minute speech into a 5 minute window. And Alexis Bledel (cute but too skinny) managed to speak every one of her cutesy-clever lines in the whole run of the series without moving her mouth. Weird. I was always like, is she some kind of ventriloquist?

229 Ace: Dude, white liberals don't care when other white liberals only befriend or hire other whites. Racism and discrimination are things that these enlightened beings are immune from, so implying that they are bigots simply does not phase them. I went to a wedding recently of a left-wing friend of mine. Most of his friends are also left-wingers. Probably 150 people were at the wedding. Of that number, there was one Hispanic guy and one Asian woman. The other 148 or so invited guests were white. The only black faces were the people serving food and drinks. Meanwhile, most of the toasts were about how intelligent and educated and enlightened and thoughtful and progressive and caring the newlywed couple were, and how they were going to change the world for the better through social justice and helping underprivileged youths and blah blah blah. Seriously. I shit you not. These people have some serious fucking blinders.
