It's at Mediaite, but the writer is solid. He notes what many of us have been noting -- the liberal media's sudden disinterest in political motivations when a shooter's a lefty -- but it's well-done.

It is my understanding that he left active service for the Navy as a LT and remained in the Navy Reserve. I heard this via radio so I have no link to provide.

The thrust of the article is in the vein of this thread.

Given the shear volume of concern trolling that occurred in 2008 and the fact it was fairly rare before that, I'd be stunned if they aren't keeping track. In fact, it'd probably be malpractice if they didn't--I'd expect a competent Republican campaign to have a good idea about what was going on Democratic blogs. The unethical part is the Moby shit and spreading smears (both on the right and other sites) a la the Palin attacks.

If I *knew* an honest liberal I would use them as an example, but I think they've pretty much all discredited themselves by now.

Note that Mediaite is a very interestingly-run operation, inasmuch as they have both explicitly liberal AND conservative media analysts and news-scourers over there. Note the byline on this one: it's by Noah Rothman. Now go check his other work on the site. You'll find it reliably skews towards a conservative media critique. On the other end, you have brainless morons like Tommy Christopher, who you're well aware of.

Rothman isn't the only one who isn't a lib shill over there, either. Mediaite is a nice change of pace from the typical monochromatic one-sided voice of most websites precisely because Dan Abrams (its founder, who was pushed out of MSNBC by Keith Olbermann for being insufficiently partisan lefty) designed it to appeal to both teams.

Most likely in the Intel field, as he name-checks the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center (NMITC) in the Dam Neck Naval installation in Virginia Beach.
