Rubio needs to do the water-bottle bit once in every speech he makes from now on. He should do it right after he makes his strongest point, while the crowd is applauding. The applause will only increase.
When Rubio is asked (hopefully) about the water-bottle mockery, he should answer, "I'm used to prejudice from some people, it comes with the territory."

yes but I used that example because it is an easy layup that I trust people who've been exposed to my more serious posts over this decade or so would grant me.

Yup pretty much, there are exceptions though not being too self-indulgent either. The problem is that the entire education complex at the sub College level has devolved into a make work activity for the types who would have been minimum wage +10% social workers at best in my early childhood. They have structurally set up a Rube Goldberg machine that punishes creativity and the use of discretionary tools, methods, and judgement on targeting each child as an individual subject.
We'd be better off just setting up YMCAs with libraries and VoTech labs and firing the whole rotten teacher's apple.

Yeah. I understand the male reaction to these stories but from a women's POV....when I was in my 20's and 30's I wanted to be with men, not teenage boys. I don't understand how an adult woman can be attracted to them. Sure, they can get it up quickly, but 17 year old males are not famous for being accomplished lovers (of course, nowadays they are much more accomplished than the guys I necked with - necking? how quaint and Victorian that sounds! - in the back seats of their dad's Buick LeSabres back in the '70's.) Most 17 year old's don't have much of a build, they have zits and they talk about - 17 year old stuff, which is boring to any normal 30 year old. So the only reason I can think of is what FenelonSpoke said, that it's a power and control issue.

Keep in mind that she's only 22. Yes, she should probably be chasing men who are 20 and older (there's a big shift in mental attitude right around there). But the kid was only a few years younger than her. and if he came out of his adolescence a bit early (which happens often enough), then the physical issues that you're describing aren't present.
There's a lot of weird stuff that happens with social/mental development right around age 18-19, and given both that and the relative closeness of their ages I'm a bit hesitant to out and out condemn her - aside from the fact that she was a member of the school staff, and thus an authority figure for him (even if she didn't ordinarily come in contact with him during the school day).
