This has been the coldest Winter I have ever seen since living here over 30 years.  I have seen a few colder nights than occurred this year, but not the long monthly average daily highs that were anywhere from 15F to 20F lower than normal.  Also, the Winters keep coming sooner and lasting longer.



Everything I have seen is the typical behavior of an impending ice age such as occurred during the middle ages. But we haz global warming and temperatures have "stabilized" <sarc>

My fav way is at Halloween time. 


The parent gets to decide how much candy you get to keep after you've canvassed three different neighbourhoods and worked your ass off filling up a half dozen pillowcases with the finest Reese Cups and Snicker bars out there.  Then (after taking my cut, ofcourse), I will distribute your candy to your younger siblings who were not able to work as hard as you did to collect candy.  It's only fair, right?  Everyone will get an equal portion, some more equal than others.  If you give me any lip, I will put you in a camp until you die send you to your room and seize all of your candy.

I hate the mob tactics, too, and they hurt the cause.  If I say gay marriage is a civil liberties issue all of a sudden I'm aligned with the thought-Nazis who got Eich fired from Mozilla and I don't want that.

It is my impression that you have never studied information and evidence critical of Homosexuality. You have the impression that your own experience and television has left you with, and no interest in understanding other history and experience regarding this demographic.

 

Why would I study "evidence critical of homosexuality"?  It would be like studying "evidence critical of negroes".

I did not answer it. I got another request a month later to participate in the voluntary survey. I quit a month later but I never answered it. Now the same survey is on my doctor's patient access website. Not going to answer that one either.

At some point after long exposure, you've learned well from one source, and should go to another given serious consideration. Politics? I always found to be ugly. It was interesting to note how parties were the same or different, compared to themselves and against each other over time. How ideas determine form is the matter. It wasn't until our children were entering school and their teachers were weird that we began to look hard at our surroundings and forces bearing down. My better half knew well before I. But I've gone out of my way to research, to "go figure". As for governance? Listen to Ravel (no, not the Bolero war horse) and appreciate how persuasive minimalism can be in the hands of a master. Come to think of it, Jesus was a minimalist. Keeping it simple. Not saying that less means less effective. Our Constitutional Republic and Bill of Rights ALLOWED the practice of slavery to END. And you know that it was an argument all along. So if it's tolerance you exercise, there it is. Understanding that people sacrificed everything, lost everything, and should be left to rest in peace where we all end up, regardless of social stature, given mortality. Ending slavery most certainly did not take (nor would such have worked) "a living, breathing" Constitution revisionism (into this post constitutional era) -- "organic" to be exploited by eugenics, scientism, Darwinian Scrooge promotion that it be better to be rid of the unwanted surplus population. Inalienable Rights? You're confused? Meditate and search within to find your answers.
