FRIDAY, WOOOOOOO!

Smart Power™: Norway rejects U.S. request to receive and destroy Syria's chemical weapons.

Failed Sec. Sebelius responds to calls for her resignation: "The majority of people calling for me to resign I would say are people who I don't work for." Excuse me?

The U.S. is alerting some foreign governments that traitorous Ed Snowden stole details of their cooperation with U.S. espionage programs and may release them to journalists. Another cover I like better than the original.

Have an excellent weekend.

4 Sebelius needs to do jail time -- maybe she can share a cell with Lois Lerner.

These scrunts need to learn -- they work FOR US!

And on an unrelated note, isn't it amazing how quickly the Obamacare operator who spoke with Hannity got canned?

So, no one punished for Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Solyndra, the IRS and NSA political weaponizations ... but a minimum-wage telephone operator gets canned in a day?

What more proof do we need that President Fuckstick and his Administration simply lie their asses off and only punish people who get under their thin skins.

Pretty much the entire Administration needs to do decades of jail time each.

Fuckers.

Good Morning Morons.  Today is Friday, October 25, 2013.  On this day in 2012 this was the first post.

The FBI to probe intimidation letters sent to Florida Republicans. DOJ probe Democrat voter intimidation? Hahahahahaha We will never hear about this again.

(this was the letter telling Republicans they had been purged from the voting roles).

We all saw how that was investigated didn't we.  Well, didn't we?  A follow-up this morning shows two hits on Bing. (1) That the letters showed up and the one below that said the DOJ would investigate.

11 FLAMING SKULL  (I wish I could do red)

DOJ obtained a search warrant for guns and then raided a reporter's house to obtain all her files about "informants" in the corrupt Obama administration.  If this was a Republican, Congress would have the impeach proceedings going tomorrow and impeachment completed by Monday.  This is yet another major outrage.

But Congress will yawn, Issa may hold another long hearing so he can hear Holder commit perjury if he shows up at all, and then do nothing. And the MFM will blame the Tea Party.

Also, gun laws, how do they work?

Morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes.

One of the problems with having so many different books on movies is that, when you come across a good story and donÂ’t immediately mark it, you can forget where you saw it first.  So this story is coming from the dank, cobwebbed depths of my brain:

Before he made movies, W.C. Fields was a vaudeville star, specializing in juggling.*  He would sometimes juggle off-camera as well, as a way to relax.  It so happened that one night he was at a party thrown by a producer who was known for a very mean trick – while he would appear to offer high-priced cigars to his guests, he actually substituted cheap El Smokos.

During the party, Fields was asked to demonstrate his juggling prowess.  He pointed to a cabinet where boxes of the producerÂ’s real cigars were kept and asked to use those; when the producer demurred, a smiling Fields reminded him that heÂ’d been a professional.  So, reluctantly, the producer opened his cabinet and let Fields take out six boxes of the best.

Fields took the boxes, checked them, made a few jokes and then launched into his act.  Suddenly, to everyoneÂ’s surprise, the boxes flew open and dozens of expensive cigars flew around the room.  While the delighted guests grabbed as many as they could, Fields simply shrugged and apologized to the incensed producer, saying he guessed heÂ’d lost his touch.

But what no one knew was that Fields, deciding to stick it to the producer, had slyly taken out the little pins holding the cigar boxes shut while heÂ’d been joking with the guests.  The result?  Great smokes for everyone.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

*of course, even Fields realized there were limits to the act.  Once, when stuck on a bill following the Marx Brothers, Fields got out of the contract by claiming to have developed “conoxis on the noxis” in his hands.

Except, they'll tell you, that while they would be more than happy to pay more taxes, those greedy rich people won't do it unless there's a gun to their heads, so. . .we have to raise taxes.  A few years back here in MA, the anti-tax activists decided to challenge the liars to put their money where their mouths were and added a voluntary contribution line to the state income tax form.

As you might expect, the percentage of good leftists willing to pay higher, more patriotic taxes is so small as to be statistically worthless.

NBC is revisiting Murder, She Wrote. The Angela Lansbury drama is being reimagined at the network with a new take starring Oscar winner Octavia Spencer.

The show is described as a re-imagining of the series with a light, contemporary take. NBC's Murder will revolve around a hospital administrator/amateur detective (Spencer) who self-publishes her first mystery novel. It's set in a day where sensational headlines fuel the news and focuses on the character's fascination with true crimes, which propels her to become an active part of the investigations.

She would not have gotten elected as governor of Kansas had she not received a large share of the vote from suburban Republicans. She would not have gotten re-elected governor if the GOP-controlled legislature had made her veto some legislation and show how far left she really was. I once asked one GOP state rep why they didn't pass a bill to do x. His reply was that she would just veto it. I think there's a pony of a lesson buried in here somewhere.

91 A textbook company contracted to produce materials under the Common Core State Standards is trying to teach students as young as second grade about economic fairness by praising unions, protests and labor leader Cesar Chavez, according to an education watchdog group. Well WZ, how is that any different that what they are already teaching. All parent have to do is send a note to school and have their child stand up and read it to the class and explain how communism has failed in every place it has ever been tried, including Detroit and CA. http://tinyurl.com/mrozvuc Posted by: Vic at October 25, 2013 07:06 AM (zZbNF) I am not trying to say that the textbook company did not do anything wrong nor am I trying to get into local-control of schools argument, but I want to put people a little knowledge about Common Core. Do not conflate Common Core with crap like this or the other OUTRAGEOUS! things you read about that use that phrase in it. Common Core does not dictate what teachers teach. It merely gives guidelines for ways to get students to use higher level thinking skills and apply those skills across all aspects of the curriculum. It doesn't contain any kind of indoctrination guidelines. It doesn't say that teachers must praise this group or that. One example of the type of things it emphasizes is in reading. Traditionally, reading has focused heavily on reading and analyzing great works of fiction. However, that type of reading actually accounts for a small percentage of the type of reading that people really do in their lives. Most of our jobs don't revolve around reading "The Great Gatsby." We read technical writings or regulations or specifications. Learning how to identify the protagonist or the denouement does little to help us in those situations. We need to be able to analyze other types of work, including and especially, works of history. You just don't read those like you would "The House of the Seven Gables." Common Core says that. It may not be perfect, but when studies come out placing us 9th of 13 industrial nations in literacy, I would say that what we do now ain't working. I just hate seeing an entire program slammed because some lefty teacher decided to impose her whack-a-doodle ideas on her students. The same thing could happen without Common Core.

Good news everyone!:

Eight states representing nearly a quarter of U.S. auto sales on Thursday agreed to aggressively move to increase the number of electric- and hydrogen-fueled cars, trucks and buses on the roads. By developing standards for charging stations, expanding financial incentives to buy the cars and lowering consumer electric rates, the states hope to make the vehicles more appealing.

Their goal is a 3.3 million vehicle increase by 2025. The largest single increase would be in California, which spearheaded the initiative and has announced a goal of 1.5 million new zero emission vehicles in the next 12 years.

Besides California and New York, the states involved are Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont.

While they are generous with other people's money and cheap with their own Leftists also manage to maintain an armor-plated delusion that they are "charitable" people.

An excellent example is the case of Morris Childs who was a high ranking member of the Communist Party of the USA in the mid 20th century.  Childs was considered the "Secretary of State" in the Communist "shadow government" that the CPUSA had established in America.  He was "wired in" with the Party leadership in Moscow, met regularly with the Politburo, and funneled millions of dollars from Moscow to fund CPUSA operations in the US.

But when he became seriously ill in the late 1940's he was unceremoniously kicked to the curb by CPUSA leadership in the USA.  Angry at the situation and starting to have doubts about Communism Morris decided to defect and offered his services to the FBI.  He still had all his contacts in Moscow, but he could not travel because he required medical treatment that he couldn't afford.  The FBI was more than willing to pay his medical bills, but how to explain his treatment to his CPUSA associates, who knew that Morris was broke as well as sick?

The solution came from Morris' brother Jack, who would also become an FBI informant.  Morris sent a letter to the CPUSA membership describing his need and asking for donations to pay his medical bills.

Nobody sent a dime.

The FBI paid for Morris' treatment at the Mayo Clinic and upon his recovery Morris sent a flowery "thank you" letter to the CPUSA members for their "generosity".

The membership swallowed the lie whole, everybody thinking that everybody ELSE must have sent money, and Morris Childs returned to his duties in the CPUSA and became the FBI's "man in the Kremlin" for the next 30 years.

131 Everybody was optimistic in the 50s. How stupid we were. Posted by: Vic at October 25, 2013 07:50 AM (zZbNF) I was just reviewing Charlie Chaplin's career. You're forgetting what "optimism" meant during the McCarthy era. Stupid, yes. Optimistic, yes. The two did not NEED to coexist, but those qualities were combined with bigotry as well. Consider well Chaplin's masterwork, The Great Dictator, coming out via his own United Artists because the Hollywood moguls refused to produce anything anti-Fascist during 1930s until the attack on Pearl Harbor Dec/1941. And the FBI had the nerve to rescind Chaplin's return visa while he was en route to London for the release of his last great work, Limelight (cameo by Buster Keaton, only film with the two together, NOT a comedy), announcing Chaplin anti-American and his movies a plague corrupting American youth and audiences. After all, any Brit who refused to become an American citizen was evil and malicious. 1952: "Whether I re-entered that unhappy country or not was of little consequence to me. I would like to have told them that the sooner I was rid of that hate-beleaguered atmosphere the better, that I was fed up of America's insults and moral pomposity"

135 Individual Mandate: Obama Ignores the Law Again Here, specifically, is what the law says: Section 5000A(e) of Obamacare states, “EXEMPTIONS—No penalty shall be imposed…with respect to,” and then lists the conditions for an exemption. Section 5000A(e)(4)(A) states that one of those conditions is “Any month the last day of which occurred during a period in which the applicable individual was not covered by minimum essential coverage for a continuous period of less than 3 months.” (See pages 128-130.) “Less than 3 months.” It’s there in black letters. And Obama is going to ignore it. good, more indepth look at theamericanspectator http://spectator.org/archives/2013/10/25/individual-mandate-obama-ignor

136 "Fine.. ignore their "tax" and then ignore all the letters from them as your penalties mount up. You can be our test case."

What penalty? Post what the penalty is, we know what the "tax" is but I haven't read anywhere what the penalty is for not paying the tax. Besides the law is written that the only recourse for the IRS has is to take the tax out of your potential refund.  They can't get into your bank account or garnish wages, it is specifically written that way.
Why are you distorting this?

Ha!  Skimming through my favorite gossip website (The Daily Mail), and there is a story of a retired "legendary NY DJ" who was arrested for soliciting sex with who he thought was a 7 year old girl.  (He thought he was communicating with the girl's mother, it was an undercover cop.)

"Herman allegedly used the screen name 'david121482' in a Yahoo! chatroom to talk to 'Kris' who he thought was the 36-year-old mother of a 7-year-old girl named Lexi.

Jailhouse retirement: If convicted, faces up to life in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine

'Age 6 is the perfect time to start her being loved that way,' Herman allegedly wrote to the undercover cop. 'I find girls that age incredibly sexy, soft and their innocense is also a huge turn on for  me.'"

The picture the DM ran of this guy shows him wearing a 2012 Obama hat (with the "0" being the Obama logo).  It is the headline pic, and then there are 2 pics in the story--both with him wearing the hat.  Scumbag.

155 I'm not sure where this idea that if you don't get a refund you won't have to pay the penalty comes from, but I highly doubt it will work that way. There will likely be a worksheet that will post back to your main tax form. The worksheet will probably have you enter a qualifying plan number and if you do, you post back a zero to the main form. Otherwise, you calculate your extra Obamacare tax which will get calculated into the tax you owe. No matter what the IRS is, they ain't stupid. Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at October 25, 2013 07:49 AM (b/lt+) If this were still a country of laws, then there's no enforcement mechanism apart from withholding the amount from a refund. The law removes all the other usual IRS enforcement mechanisms so if you're not getting a refund, there's no way to collect the penalty. Of course, since we are no longer a nation of laws, then, yup, the IRS is going to ignore those restrictions and lien the hell out of everyone.

161 f*ckin holder The DOJ is seeking a permanent injunction against the school choice program, which would block access to vouchers beginning in 2014 unless a federal judge approves them. The lawsuit claims the vouchers are “impeding desegregation” because some recipients were in the racial minority at their failing school. Vouchers are awarded randomly by lottery. The DOJ said in a motion filed Tuesday that parents whose kids have benefited from the program have no legal standing to become defendants in the case. Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal blasted the DOJ for “trying to muzzle parents.” “The Obama administration wants to deny a voice to the very people who will be harmed by this ridiculous lawsuit,” Jindal said in a statement. “In an offensively worded motion, the U.S. Department of Justice is trying to muzzle parents who simply want to express an opinion about why their children should have the opportunity to escape failing schools.” http://freebeacon.com/doj-tries-to-stop-parents-from-defending-louisiana-school-voucher-program/ hate these ppl

Posted by: Chris at October 25, 2013 08:14 AM (aBOfW) Testing is not new. It has existed since I was in school a hundred years ago. The main thing that testing does is introduce a level of accountability for teachers. Research has shown that the most accurate was to asses a teacher's performance is to include a test-score component that is at least 50% of the total evaluation (preferably 75%). The research has shown that his cuts across students of all racial and socio-economic groups. Accountability is what's currently lacking in education. That's why so many teachers are opposed to much of this. It will show everyone how they actually are.

By percentages, the teachers aren't smart enough to teach what the kids need to learn. The dumbing down and pushing kids through to graduation on cereal box science, grade school math and feel good about yourself english has come full circle. The focus is on fraudulant history and social constructs shaped to socialize and pussify our nation. Yeah, I know, "B B B But OSP, not all schools are not like that. My little Johnny has a great school." No he doesn't, it's FKD. If your kids are not in a private or at least charter school. Their percentages of academic success are very very low.

It's funny you ask, since Theosophy plays a small part in the new book.  But no, it really was not on the radar screen.  The moguls themselves - and I'm talking first wave, the Laemmles, the Zukors, the Mayers - were Jewish by birth but always sublimated it to the greater idea of being a "good American."  Neal Gabler's An Empire Of Their Own documents how that became difficult when Nazi Germany, Lindbergh and the "Jewish Conspiracy" made Judaism in America suspect.

There was a Theosophist colony in the Hollywoodland area called Krotona; Hope Anderson talks about it a bit in her blog, "Under the Hollywood Sign" and you can find out more at krotonaarchives.com

191 I've actually seen a Common Cores lesson plan on a science topic and reviewed it with a fine-toothed comb. Think of a lesson plan as an outline, because that is all they are; areas to be covered. There was no AGW BS on it whatsoever. BUT, and that's a big BUT, any liberal teacher could shoehorn a ton of AGW BS into it if they wanted to. There is no solution to that problem except parental oversight and complaints to Principals and school boards. Ask to see the offending lesson plan and review it with the Principal. Then point out where the teacher went off course. I also know of a private school with all conservative teachers, except one. Parents bitched and moaned, pulled their kids to no avail. It was only when the school was in danger of closing that the lefty 'cleaned up her act'. Mostly. You can tell her car in the parking lot with the 'COEXIST' bumper sticker.

193 Zombie John Gotti Yes, college credit. Back in our day, we could bulk up on our high school curriculum scheduling in order to graduate early and take college credits at the local university, college during our peer's senior year in high school. That was while high school curriculum was still the old fashioned "real" work of calculating and examining and explicating in English without mechanical IT to aid. Even then, 1960-70s, the high school graduate entering university met professorial determination to flunk out 80% of freshmen in Math and English (first round, try again with more effort) at STATE universities.

You could probably put both of those back together in fairly short order.  But there is one we can NOT do any longer and the ability to restore is no longer there.

We can no longer produce reactor pressure vessels or vessel heads.  The people who are currently biting the bullet and building new nuclear sites are getting those from Japan.

I wasn't judging ma'am.  We are all doomed to look at ourselves in the mirror.  People telling you Paul may or may not have done X may or may not be correct but you have the wisdom to know that Paul doesn't brush your teeth.  It's been my experience that "bailing people" out of jams engenders more resentment than bailing them out of jail.

The person is usually contrite when they are bailed out of jail, but act entitled when bailed out of hardship.

Stay strong, things'll get better.

From what I can tell about Common Core, it's serving to help underperforming schools do better, but it's also pushing overperforming schools down.

I have one kid in an Advanced Academic Program and one in the general curriculum (I call it General Population to my wife's dismay).  Overall the school is a good one, but certain things being taught in General Population are starting to be done very differently over the things the AAP is doing.  AAP is, in my view, more traditional style teaching (as I went through as a kid), whereas General Population seems to be whatever flavor of the week some Education major wrote a thesis on about ten years ago.

230 Norn Ornstein, who has been around DC forever, has this wonderful snippet Â…

Go back, first, to Max Baucus’s famous and widely distorted and misused “train wreck” comment in a hearing to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in April 2013. Contrary to Ted Cruz and countless other Republicans, Baucus did not call Obamacare a train wreck—he was referring directly to its implementation through the website. He said, “I understand you’ve hired a contractor. I’m just worried that that’s going to be money down the drain because contractors like to make money more than they like to do anything else. That’s their job. They’ve got to worry about their shareholders and whatnot.

.. they knew back in April that the web site was going to be a “train wreck.”

If Sebelius, the president, the leaders at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other White House officials were unaware before that hearing about the implementation problems, they could not be unaware afterward. And, as we are now hearing, the stark internal warnings from tech experts of deep-seated problems in the programs came months ago and went unheeded.

.. HHS secretary Sebelius has been lying her ass off since the healthcare.gov rollout claiming the the “Sargent Schultz defense” for her hapless incompetent boss.

If they knew it was screwed up in April, does anybody really think it will be fixed by the end of the year (let alone any earlier date) ?

The kicker in this whole situation is this fiasco is the reason the Republicans shut the government down and the media wonÂ’t for a second connect the dots.

After the shutdown and the Democrat failure to negotiate, if Obama doesnÂ’t go back to Congress to delay ObamaCareÂ’s start, the House should impeach his ass.  Forget party lines, what Democrat wants it set down in a recorded vote that failure to follow the law as agreed by the Congress and signed by the President should be excusable ? ... if so, what will they do when a Republican is POTUS ?

241 ]If you want to really understand the level of failure of public schools, look at the Jr. Colleges. They are currently making a mint off of 50's level math and science remedial classes.

Shit, regular "four-year" (not anymore!) universities are making a mint off remedial math but mostly English classes. You'd think they could, I don't know, not admit "students" who can't read at a high school level but that would be "racist" and their assorted government fundings will be less if enrollments decline.  So the poor saps--first in their family to be admitted to a university!--who want the "campus experience" go off and borrow a buttload of money they could have saved by catching up at Community College (which in Iowa has a [Race] Students Association and a football team and even dorms just like the U's).

I find it incredibly sad that no one ever tells these kids, "Hey, maybe this isn't for you" until they're several years' wages in hock.

I was on the board for a paralegal studies program at a university and I was also a part-time lecturer for the program. I voted to shut it down. Why? Because the university charged more for a year in tuition than the graduates of the program would make even five or six years out and I could not, in good conscience, continue to train kids for a career when the ROI was negative.

I can not tell you how many times that inner city minority High School Seniors would fail to score high enough on math and reading to join the military. And when told that they would need to improve, be told that their High School Counselor has them on the fast track for College.

273 152 Common Core is more than just general guidelines. There is a whole tracking and testing regime. Testing by default dictates what is taught. Sure they don't say you have to teach X. Of course if you don't teach X or teach it the way it is tested, your kids are going to perform worse and I'm sure there will be consequences. Posted by: Chris at October 25, 2013 08:14 AM (aBOfW) This x 1000. If you dig into the CC scam, all the testing consortias have been granted generous sums by Commie Bill Gates to "align" with CC, and the curriculum that's being taught is aligned with the testing. And let's just dispel the myth that all 50 states magically came together and did this. Not true at all. The NGA (which is a trade organization, NOT a legitimate representative of any state) was involved on the surface, but it was bought and paid for by Gates and company. And five of the members of the validation committee refused to sign off on it. All five of those folks are either teachers and professors or actual experts in math and english education. Go read what they say about how far behind CC standards are going to put our kids in math and English. It's pretty damning that they're own people say these standards are bad news.

308 I remember that a 99 was max on the ASVAB as well.
Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery.
There were certain combinations of sub-results in things like Mechanical Knowledge, Basic math and such that when added up could be over 100.
These sub-scores were what determined which field the Classifier would push you towards.
Unless there was a need that month for specific flavors of bodies.
Then everyone tended to get pushed that way.

I was the Nuclear Field Coordinator for NRD Washington/Philadelphia.

310 Actually the dumbing down of schools has been going on for decades. You wouldn't know it from my poor writing here, but when I don't have to type things myself I usually write quite well. :^) I was a tutor for remedial English classes in the early 80's after I finished college. The college I tutored at (not the one I attended) admitted students back then whose writing skills shouldn't have gotten them out of the fourth grade. My mother-who was a college English professor until 1983-said they would admit a tree if it could pay the tuition, and she had noticed the trend for years before that too.

NY Theater to ignore NC-17 rating and admit all high schoolers to lesbian film, "Blue is the Warmest Color"

Variety: http://tinyurl.com/mgje2ha

Those sex scenes in Abdellatif Kechiche’s three-hour long NC-17 lesbian drama “Blue Is the Warmest Color” may be polarizing the talent, but at least in cosmopolitan New York, high schoolers under 17 will be admitted to see the film.

The IFC Center in Greenwich Village — which falls under the same IFC ownership as distributor Sundance Selects — has said it will not turn away teen-aged viewers, the New York Times A.O. Scott reported. Scott also said that his own 14-year old daughter has seen the film twice.

In a statement, John Vanco, senior veep and general manager of the IFC Center, said that “high school age patrons” would be admitted.”

“This is not a movie for young children, but it is our judgment that it is not inappropriate for mature, inquiring teenagers who are looking ahead to the emotional challenges and opportunities that adulthood holds,” Vanco said...

Note to self:     continue to stay the fuck away from Greenwich g-ddamn Village.

Okay, WTF?

Woman Endures Strip Search, Jail, For Overdue Traffic Ticket

CBS-DFW:  http://tinyurl.com/m5kjus8

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A North Texas woman was handcuffed, stripped down and booked into jail – all because of an overdue traffic ticket.

It was just a ticket. Sarah Boaz was cited in August after an officer said she ran a stop sign.

...

Boaz’ expected trip to work Wednesday morning never happened. Because of her unpaid ticket, the Richland Hills City Marshal was waiting at her house with a warrant for her arrest. “I’m like, nobody puts out a bench warrant after 60 days. Why would you do that? You wouldn’t do that.”

Even when Boaz arrived at the jail, in handcuffs, she still didn’t think it was real. Then a female officer started giving her instructions. She remembered the officer saying, “’I’m going to need you to undress. I’m going to need you to stand against the wall. Please don’t step in front of this white box, or I’ll take that’… aggressive toward me. Obviously I am going to jail.”

CBS 11 News learned a strip search is standard procedure for anyone brought to the jail in North Richland Hills...

I agree she should have paid the ticket sooner, but this?   This is fucking OVERKILL.

Funny joke, after 10 uneventful years in the Marines (between Gulf War 1 and 2) he moved back home and joined the Air Force reserves...who immediately sent him to Trashcanistan flying tankers...and then he'd bitch because he gave up a small maneuverable aircraft that could shoot back for one that wasn't.

My mom would drive us out to the farms of old ladies from church and they'd load us up with homemade stuff.  It wasn't until years later I understood we weren't doing this for our benefit.

379 a bunch of College Perfessers demanding my son understand Transgender issues of the American Revolution

Two of the Royal Governors were cross-dressers. Several Sons of Liberty were facilitators of the back-alley gossip on at least one of them. It contributed to the cause, and really shouldn't be ignored. Bet the perfessers don't know that though.

What you do, if you want to beat them, is to show that you know their subject matter better than they do -- not hard, since they are making theirs up. They often find that their concomitant conclusions fit nicely up their ass.

As a young jazz and blues fan I used to do that to Black Hactivists all the time.  But I was much so much older then; I'm younger than that now.

383 A veteran Washington D.C. investigative journalist says the Department of Homeland Security confiscated a stack of her confidential files during a raid of her home in August — leading her to fear that a number of her sources inside the federal government have now been exposed.

In an interview with The Daily Caller, journalist Audrey Hudson revealed that the Department of Homeland Security and Maryland State Police were involved in a predawn raid of her Shady Side, Md. home on Aug. 6. Hudson is a former Washington Times reporter and current freelance reporter.

A search warrant obtained by TheDC indicates that the August raid allowed law enforcement to search for firearms inside her home.

All it takes is a bachelors degree. One of our pilots had his in restaraunt management (who knew there even was such a thing?). Years later I had a discussion with a pilot about Laser Safety Officers at the squadron level, I opined that a CPO could do a much better job and she insisted that it must be a commissioned officer because...well, just because!

Edward R. Morrow, i was about to quote the same article.

This is the bit that steams me most of all.      The   seizure of    firearms    was clearly a smokescreen to get at their REAL target:

The document notes that her husband, Paul Flanagan, was found guilty in 1986 to resisting arrest in Prince GeorgeÂ’s County. The warrant called for police to search the residence they share and seize all weapons and ammunition because he is prohibited under the law from possessing firearms.

But without HudsonÂ’s knowledge, the agents also confiscated a batch of documents that contained information about sources inside the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration, she said.

Outraged over the seizure, Hudson is now speaking out. She said no subpoena for the notes was presented during the raid and argues the confiscation was outside of the search warrantÂ’s parameter.

“They took my notes without my knowledge and without legal authority to do so,” Hudson said this week. “The search warrant they presented said nothing about walking out of here with a single sheet of paper.”

406 Didn't get all the way through but I have to disagree about one of the common core arguments. It most certainly DOES dictate what teachers teach. That is its purpose. And stuff like Chavez worship is built into the curriculum because it is an integral part of the textbook. Teachers may have had some latitude with common core lessons in the past but ultimately the blueprint for common core is for that not to happen. (I had a training course in advocating for common core so I was allowed to see "behind the curtain" some. Also several of you keep saying common core doesn't deal with the teaching of history but it does since language arts and history are taught together now.

The first Master Chief I worked for was an enlisted pilot, he was a crusty old fucker that had gotten in for Korea where he was getting shot at, said F-that, they're shooting at me and got out, got back in again for Viet Nam and remembered, oh yeah they're shooting at me, got out again, got back in in the mid 70's and there weren't any enlisted pilots any more so he stayed until retirement (35 years total active service).
