I find it really hilarious that the Obamamedia keeps pushing this BS line

Something tells me if it were called Bushcare, the leads on the nightly news would be something like, "Wow, those exchanges are messed up, huh? ... [5 minute report on how horrible they are] ... And in other news, the stalemate in Washington drags into its Nth day."

They choose what to focus on. Their protestations about why they're not focusing on a particular story are laughable.

Erickson has a piece on why we should push the debt limit fight into 2014 with a short-term increase. I disagree with him slightly on the reasoning (he says The GOP Establishment™ wants it linked to the shutdown; I see the Dems begging for it to be), but I do think this is the way to go.

2 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Wednesday, October 09, 2013.  On this day in 1967 commie terrorist Che Guevara was executed in Bolivia.  He was shot several times with an M1 Garand to make it appear he was killed in the firefight which captured him.  Why the pseudo-commie hipsters wear his picture on T-shirts is a matter for open debate.  He was a despicable asshole, murderer, racist, and just a general commie shit yet these idiots revere him.

6 Yes Fox is a "conservative Republican leaning news service" ----- NOT!

Republicans continue to allege the Obama administration is trying to make the partial government shutdown "as painful as possible," by closing down various operations that don't cost much to run anyway.

It should be obvious to the most stupid observer that that is exactly what is going on.  Even the article admits that there are numerous things that were shutdown that save virtually nothing.  So why the opening "allege" paragraph bullshit?

She also had a documentary filmmaker on covering the closing of the WW2 memorial versus the opening of the mall for the illegal immigrants rally. Do you think "health officials" are going to blame the flood of illegals?  And any cases of TB are a rise because as I said, it was eradicated here before the illegals started flooding in by the millions.

If you look at the current rends from the CDC it is declining, but the States with the highest rates are coincidentally the States with the highest number of foreigners. But they do put Asians as having the highest rates.  63% if the TB cases were foreigners.

81 Regarding 4-year-olds in school. That's not unusual necessarily. 30 years ago, I had a 4-year-old or two in my kindergarten class. Had to do with birthdays and cut-off dates for entry. In fact, I think my sister was 4 when she started school. Works both ways, actually, as my elder daughter was days from being 6 when she started kindergarten. Again, all to do with when the child's birthday falls.

To clarify a little? The Island had 3,000 residents back then. Small, incestuous, and clannish. Dad was a divorcee, Living In Sin with a Gal Pal on the beach at 102 Hamilton street. His firm was wiring Liberty Ships at the JA Jones shipyard- a few blocks from where I now live.

My Mom showed up from mustering out of the WAAC's in Caspar, Wyoming, took a shine to him, kicked the Gal Pal out of his house and married him. Honeymooned at the old El Mirador hotel in Acapulco.

When I was growing up the only other divorcees on the Island were a woman who lived down the street and a locally famous doctor who lived on a yacht at Wilson's boat yard. That was it.

Will they at least be in the same house together at a party? Growing up, we had to have separate Christmases because my divorced grandparents wouldn't be in our house at the same time. For my first Holy Communion, my grandfather gave me my gift in the church parking lot because he and his wife wouldn't come to the house if my grandmother was there. This was 10+ years after their divorce. Talk about being confusing for a kid.

So from the time it was rammed through on Christmas Eve, our only way to undo it was through elections, which we've been doing.  Since when is once done is done, too bad the way things are done around here?  Pisses me off.

Folks, I don't care how badly your   home   team is playing.   This shit is unacceptable.

Houston Texans    Fans Accost Matt Schaub At His Home

CBS Houston:  http://tinyurl.com/m9gmatc

A source close to law enforcement told The Fred and Ted Show late Tuesday evening that Houston Police were contacted by the NFL after fans approached Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub at his home and berated him for his recent poor play.

No arrests were made.

"A fan went to his house and told him off,” said the source, adding that another person “took pictures of his family,” which were allegedly posted on Facebook. Fortunately, neither Schaub nor anyone in his family was hurt...

Grow the fuck up, people.   Seriously.

196 179. You get what you ask others to get. You get what you give. Beware "Accountability" Proverbs 25 2It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. 3As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. 3As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. 5Remove wicked officials from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness. 15Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone. 28Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. 2 Timothy 2:13 And if we shall not have believed in him, he continues in his faithfulness, for he cannot renounce himself. 2 Peter 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; ...and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them from the Lord. But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish. They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. James 4 10Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. 11Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it. 12There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?

204 Those figures are compared in this report with updated long-term calculations for two budget scenarios examined in CBO’s 2011 Long-Term Budget Outlook; both of those scenarios represent extensions of current laws or policies in different forms. Under those scenarios, federal spending in 2050 would be close to 7percent of GDP for Medicare (including offsetting receipts, discussed below); more than 4 percent of GDP for Medicaid, CHIP, and subsidies to be provided through insurance exchanges; 6 percent of GDP for Social Security; and about 8percent of GDP for other mandatory spending and all discretionary spending. Under one of those scenarios, revenues would rise to about 26 percent of GDP in 2050,and debt held by the public would decline to 40 percent of GDP in that year; under the other of those scenarios,in 2050,revenues would be 18½ percent of GDP,and debt held by the public more than 200 percent of GDP.

How about sometimes we do things because they are the right thing to do?  Instead of thinking about how we can skim a few more hispanic voters from the Demonrat roles,    or how we can prod the FSA a little ways away from   their gubmint sugar daddy,   how about we think about how we can stop the country from spiraling down the shitter like an   Obama-scented turd.

The MFM is never going to paint   the  'Pubbies in a good light.  Never.  Shut down, no shut down -- it wouldn't have made one damn bit of difference.   So when you're damned if you do or damned if you don't,   you might as well do    what's   right.

Now, given the media's loyalty to the dems, 'splain to me how this shutdown was going to be a "win" for us politically?

Need you be reminded, we went with the unassailably awesome 'delay' plan. The Democrats tossed it out on its ear. We went with the 'sensible' no exemptions plan. Remember that one? It was the one that was popular with everybody that we couldn't lose on. Harry Reid took a giant shit on it. The master chess players said that was impossible.

A shutdown still happened, and by golly, looks like it was planned for quite a while. I guess we blundered when we dared send over a CR saying we would defund Obamacare? How dare we? We insulted them! We clearly must sit very quietly, lie back, and think of the (this year + 2) elections. If we act as inert as possible people are bound to love us and want to vote for us.

People aren't keelhauling Republicans like 'the narrative' said they would.

The longer this goes on, the stronger the GOP position becomes, because the public cares less. The Dem constituents, on the other hand, start getting snippy.

We are doing far better than the grim predictions of the moderati.

Wouldn't let them outside to photograph. They could only see it from a balcony in the second floor.

That sounds like one  of the tourists in   Ace's post yesterday. There were a lot of foreign tourists who    I hope contacted   their respective embassies after they  were illegally detained by TFG's Brownshirts. Perhaps a little international pressure would make him and Reid squirm a bit, combined with a few Pubbies standing up  and pointing out how this is their shutdown, not the Pubbies or Tea Party's.

Just keep on message about the bills sitting on Reid's desk that would fund the government.

How will the shutdown be a win for the GOP, politically?  Especially, you ask, since the press is the propaganda organ of the Democrat party?

Easy answer:  Americans are starting to figure it out.  The Spite House and the clear manipulation of the news is impressing even Democrats.  Indies are now majority in favor of using the shutdown to gain spending reductions.  Even the Democrats in yesterdays Fox poll (usually no friend to the GOP, oddly enough) are nearly evenly split on the need to gain spending reductions!

Are you reading the news?  The Mercury News printed those delicious quotes from Bay Area indies (otherwise known as "Communists") just two days ago expressing their amazement at their new 404Care insurance bills.  Two weeks ago the story wouldn't have been printed.   And Republicans, shutting down the government in hopes of a delay in the pain, are poised to win big time.

Go Boehner!

NY court weighs 'too intoxicated' murder defense

AP: http://tinyurl.com/lnlvhx7

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Three people convicted of murder in deadly crashes urged New York's highest court Tuesday to throw out their convictions, arguing they were too intoxicated to know the threat they posed to others.

The murder convictions of Martin Heidgen, Taliyah Taylor and Franklin McPherson all hinge on the prosecution's contention they acted with "depraved indifference to human life" in fatal crashes that share a number of common threads: driving too fast in the wrong lane while under the influence.

Defense attorneys argued prosecutors failed to prove their clients acted with depraved indifference and, in fact, their clients were too impaired to know what they were doing....

Lest, we forget, it is good to acknowledge that the Liberal Elite would gladly put all of us Conservatives on cattle cars and send us to our doom without turning a hair or losing a minute's sleep.  They would rest content in the supposition that now progress could be made since the obstructionists are gone.  Of course, they always forget that eventually they will fall afoul of ever stricter doctrine and become obstructionists themselves.

And the kicker is, no matter what the "other guy" did in the wreck, the drunk driver is assumed to be at fault.

Despite that I know one guy who was charged under that statute and the jury failed to convict.  He hit pedestrian who stepped out between two parked cars right in front of him. He wasn't what you would call really drunk just in that grey zone between .05 and .08.

Posted by: Bigby's Punch Bug Blue at October 09, 2013 08:08 AM (3ZtZW)"

How about "Run, Adolf, Run!"?  Every week young Adolf is hunted by a time traveling hit teams and escapes with his life through some comic series of circumstances.  For example, one of the time travelers is just about to shoot young Hitler when he slips on a banana peel and falls into the pig pen where he is eaten by hogs (roll laugh track).  Later on, farm hand Georg Luger finds the futuristic automatic pistol in the muck and goes on to produce copies named after himself.

A repeating theme could be Hitler's mother packing a banana in his lunch, reminding him to eat the banana because it will keep him healthy.  Hitler later eats the banana and carelessly discards the peel where someone (sometimes the killer from the future, sometimes the school master, sometimes the fat burgomeister) slips on it.

Tell him that you are shocked that he would espouse the words of a woman, who for her entire life gamed the system by posing as a member of the Indigenous People of America.  A woman whose claims to Cherokee heritage were debunked by the Cherokee Tribe in Oklahoma, her home state, during her election.  Ask him how he feels about her taking the place of a genuine Indigenous Person at Harvard.

353 Redstate is for pussies. It may have changed, but it always seemed like they were going for the moderate position. Go along to get along...with Obama!

354 I don't want my house firebombed-not by him but by other deranged liberals. Your "very nice" liberal neighbor figuratively firebombs your house every time he enters a voting booth.

355 319 269 None of this is new. That's my point.

I didn't say it was "new".

Okay then I don't see why it was pointed out. We all know that CA is a commie utopia, with LA and SF being the co-capitals. Additionally, saying that pistols are *banned* here--which you've since corrected--is what got my attention. I thought you knew something I didn't.

I read this and pretty much saw it as throwaway hyperbole.

356 "198 A real question for the Justice Department: when will you begin to arrest engineers? If America cannot get a working web site it is clearly the result of coordinated enemy action from capitalist web engineers. Arrests might move the process along faster. Take their families too; this is a national moment of disgrace. The president must be so disappointed in us.

Exactly.  If they cannot be trusted to design flawless web pages, perhaps they can be trusted to make rocks into gravel with sledge hammers.

357 Obamacare: a helpful "teachable moment" for everyone as to how Big Government works out for everyone. Somebody post that old cartoon about Communism again.

358 Yea, I'm sure the MSM would be raking Obama over the coals for government healthcare because of technical glitches on the ObamaCare websites.

Obviously, the timing would have been better to have this not occur during a shutdown, but it's not like ObamaCare was going to be repealed over it, and a majority was already opposed to ObamaCare before the glitches happened.
