— Gabriel Malor Happy Monday.
The agency that should be abolished told Congress last year that the case of a field office using mentally disabled teens in a failed sting operation and then arresting them for their participation was "an isolated case of inadequate supervision." It wasn't.
Covered California, the state's Obamacare exchange, gave consumers' personal information to insurance agents even though the consumers opted out of such information sharing. It was for their own good, you see: "I can imagine some people may be upset. . . . But I can see a lot of people will be comforted and relieved at getting the help they need to navigate a confusing process."
Oh, and the Obama administration no longer wants you to use paper forms to try and sign up for Obamacare. There isn't time enough to process them before the deadline.
Yet another state Obamacare exchange confesses it's having the same problems as the federal exchange website.

My pricy Walther TPH had a mechanical failure at an indoor range/gun shop and I had the gun shop send it back to Interarms for repair. When it was returned, it was stolen by one of the store owners (my research showed UPS signature had verified delivery), but the owners claimed the gun was never sent back.
Local LE was disturbingly uninterested, so I called ATF in Miami to alert them to a FFL who was stealing customer guns. They too were disturbingly uninterested.
I was unimpressed.

Lots of things cause mental disability, including pot smoking. Or it could be any of a number of mental "conditions" that get people declared disabled these days, which just means they are members of the Obama FSA.
In other words, don't go assuming just because a newspaper suggests the ATF is using mentally retarded "kids" in their sting operations that these supposed kids are not guilty of what they were arrested for.

I was uninterested in the value of the gun. I was interested in seeing a corrupt FFL shutdown. If they did it to me, then it was being done to a lot of other people too. Cockroach theory -- there's never "just one".
Apparently law enforcement doesn't subscribe to the cockroach theory.

Morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes. Thanks for the morning briefing, Vic.
Last week I mentioned the photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston and Ziegfeld Girls. Today’s story is a little off the usual Hollywood path, but it is a show business story. If it were a Nero Wolfe mystery, it would be called “The Case of the Broken Butterfly.”
It was a chilly March 15th in 1923. In a plush fourth floor bachelorette apartment five minutes from the bright lights of Broadway, maid Billie Bradford found her mistress, Ziegfeld Girl Dot King, sprawled lifeless on her bed. Miss Bradford went for a policeman - but not before taking a pair of men's yellow silk pajamas off a nearby chair and stuffing them under a couch cushion.
When the ambulance arrived, the young intern answering the call said it looked like suicide. But the chief medical examiner, Dr. Charles Norris, disagreed, pointing out King's twisted right arm jammed behind her back. Spying an empty chloroform bottle in the bedroom, he detected a robbery-murder.
Robbery it certainly was - a $15,000 ruby necklace was missing, along with another $30,000 worth of expensive gifts including two diamond bracelets and a diamond-and-emerald-studded wrist watch. But murder?
Dot's mother certainly thought so. In fact, she was certain who'd done the deed, too - a Latin lover named Alberto Santos Guimares. Dot kept Alberto in luxurious splendor, said momma, giving him spending money, paying all of his bills and getting nothing but black eyes in return. But the swarthy playboy had an alibi; he was doing the speakeasy rounds all night, he insisted. If the police wanted to arrest him for violating the Volstead Act, that was fair enough. But he insisted he had never come near Dot King on the night of the 14th.
Dot, a stunner with an hourglass body, a doll's face and Trilby feet, had her choice of men - sugar daddies, playboys, stage-door Johnnies and big butter-and-egg men. Some gave her roses; others gave her money or diamonds. But all of them wrote to her, passionate, pleading, soppy letters designed to tug at her heart.
One of them seemed to offer a clue: "Darling Dottie," it read, "Only two more days before I will be with you. I want to see you, O so much! And to kiss your pretty pink toes. . ." When traced, the letter turned out to be the prose of a Philadelphia Main Line swain named J. Kearsley Mitchell.
Yes, the letter was his, Mitchell admitted. And yes, he had seen Dot on the 14th; both he and his attorney had spent the day with her, all three in Manhattan's swankiest bôites]/i], and then Mitchell and King privately in her boudoir. But King swore that when he left her at 2.30 in the morning (after tucking his usual $1,000 bill under her pillow), she was alive. And since the time of death was fixed as after 2.30, an abashed Mitchell was allowed to go home.
And with that, the investigation petered out. Over the years, the King murder would be active again as new leads or witnesses came forward, but in the end, no one ever discovered who killed Dot King, the Broadway Butterfly.
And here she is. Not to everyone’s taste (not mine, certainly), but she obviously had “It:”

I’ve read – even at the link – that three movies were based on the King case, but I have no idea what they are. Sorry.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

>>But liberal idiots want an even more stupid law on the books now. They want to make it illegal for men to look at women. Is this the first step in putting women in those black bags they have in the Middle East?
No. It seems to be the reverse, where they believe that women should be able to wear whatever they want (Slut Walks) and behave however they want (treat sex like men, get drunk at parties, etc.) while at the same time men are not allowed to judge them (slut-shaming!), make assumptions about their availability (how dare you assume I want sex just because I'm drunk, dancing topless on the bar at 2:00am!), or apparently, even look at them.
More of the boys and men are no longer allowed to act or even think like boys and men.

Not all of the new Medicaid enrollees were looking for a handout. The Obamacare site *automatically* enrolls users if they qualify; they are given no other insurance plan options to choose from , they just get a message that they're enrolled. Fox news profiled a guy this happened to and he was pissed - called the 1-800-F1uckyou line and was told sorry, we can't un-enroll you. The guy has millions in assets (but a current low salary) and knos he should not be using (or wanting) Medicaid, but thanks to a provision in Obamacare that eliminates disqualification based on personal assets he's in.
And is it a surprise to also hear that the website has been enrolling people who don't even qualify? The Medicaid numbers are by design (based on how the site is configured), and not necessarily because so many greedy people

I read it. It reads like a typical case of news "journalism" to me. Which means you are getting a slanted view. Regardless of whether you agree with the general gist of the story or not (that the ATF is an out of control gov't entity), you have one side claiming these poor disabled yoots were used, and the other side saying "no comment."
Which means you have no idea what the truth is. Yet.

.Here in Kentucky nearly 80% of the new sign ups have been for Medicaid. When the Feds turn off the money spigot in 2018 my State is screwed. We simply can't afford to cover that many more people under Medicaid. It is unsustainable.

Help a moron out: I don't understand the Urban Meyer hate. When the Golden Domers chose not to hire him, and instead took that inept fat pile of shit Chollie Weis, all their shillboys laughed at Florida for taking him with some dumbfucks going to far as using an online nic of "UrbanMeyerBadHire" in one of the most clueless self pawning I've ever witnessed (every blog owner should've printed their real name so the humiliation could be complete). Anyway he put together an exciting program at Florida which won championships as some of the players were filling up police blotters (which is a problem at every major Div 1 program; including Penn State which all the Paterno shills like to pretend didn't exist along with Sandusky). A lot of my Ohio State friends used to cast off on him before he landed in Clodumbus ever though he had made clear that O$U was his dream destination. To be clear, I thought his team was still a year away from playing for all the marbles and that Florida State would've crushed them in a championship game; but all that is now a moot point.
If you want to talk about coaches to hate may I suggest Steve Squirrelier?

Weather here in Northern MA - around 3.00am there was nothing. By 5.00, a dusting of snow which will probably pile up to about an inch before the temperature goes into the 40s and it starts to rain. But then more snow - 1-2" - tomorrow night and cold weather through the rest of the week. I absolutely have to bring my bike in for winter storage this weekend, even if it means freezing my fingers off.
I hate winter.

You also wouldn't have seen the (non)testing disaster. IBM knows how to construct a test plan, generate test cases, and do the kind of load testing that would have been needed.
IBM isn't perfect, but they're not bad either.

They were incredibly nimble when it came to reacting to problems.
I was impressed.

.Two weeks doesn't go by without the Liberal Lexington newspaper calling out Indiana on why they didn't drink the glorious purple Kool-Aid of O Care.
If it wasn't from Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky would be the ideal state to live in. Way too many liberals moved to those two cities.

But if IBM did it for free there would have been no opportunity for billions in graft. I suppose this also would have made it harder for the HHS/WH admin morons to insist on the non-sensical requirements that seem to have heavily contributed to the site's failure. No "customer is always right" if they're not paying you.

Just followed an Insty link to DKos. Now I've got to dip my modem in Lysol. They're freaking out over Levin's Art V convention, with the usual "teabagger" and "right wing asshole" vomits, all the while complaining about talk radio creating a lack of civil discourse.
One of the posters posited that, if the Liberty Amendments were passed, there would be revolution and blood in the streets, but it would be good. You see, the teabaggers are outgunned, because while the left has lots of allies, the right has none, so the UN would be patrolling down Main Street to put down the rebellion. And the DK smiles would last for years.
Had an old high school friend whom I haven't seen in about five years. The last time we were together, he cited DK as a source. I told him he might as well cite soiled toilet paper as a source, because the intellectual content was the same. That was the end of that.

And the intransigence of our "betters" in DC against repealing this monstrosity and stripping it off the books for good becomes ever more revolting. People are being HURT. This is not some game with little to no impact on everyday Americans. This has to END.

Here's the actual comment:
This is crackpot business without any chance of occurring in our lifetime, mainly because it would result in real violence in the streets, and actual partisan bloodshed by the gallons; I mean any attempt to install apartheid policies - and that's exactly what this insane gimmick amounts to - and we'd end up with a balkanized country.
I know that's what they think they want, but the problem is that they're outmanned, and outgunned, with nobody in the world they can turn to for help, while quite literally the rest of the world, that is every nation on earth, has a bone to pick with them. Imagine UN peacekeepers patrolling the streets of Mississippi with blue helmets and APCs.
The smiles would last forever.
So, let's all take a deep breath, return to reality, ignore the trolls, and forget about Mark Levin, his stupid face, and his silly ideas.
Crap like this makes me want to hunt down this asshole and give him a buckshot bukkake.

Most nations who send troops to wear the blue like Fiji are basically renting their soldiers out as Hessians for income. Thus I seriously doubt they would enjoy actually being mercenaries who would have to carry out military actions.

I'd wager that several hundred pages of the PP-ACA contain nothing but the phrase:
"The party of the first part shall hereafter be referred to as the party of the first part."
When Ocare facilitators call, they are required to ask in a nasally voice, "Is this the party to whom I am speaking?".

Good question. Am I foreseeing anything like this happening? Not really...at least I hope not. All I'm saying is, I put nothing past the leftists in power if they perceive a REAL threat that they cannot deflect or destroy by means of the media. If some fool on Koz or wherever can blissfully masturbate to the idea of foreign troops killing patriots, I have no doubt there are those more closely related to the policymaking machinery who are way ahead of him.

And The Butler claiming that the W.H. butler quit because Reagan wouldn't sign the bill is a lie; the real butler loved Reagan... the Reagans' photo is the only presidential one he kept in his house; and Reagan was the only president to have invited him to a state dinner as a guest.
