Happy Tuesday, mush-heads.

Apparently, the yoots were rioting in Brooklyn last night.

Instapundit writes in USAToday about the idiocy of school policies concerning guns and things that are not guns but that administrators have fits of hysteria about because they are stupid people with forebrains the size and density of olive pits.

Politico draws a line between Obama's sequester Chicken Little-ism last month and his Administration's current problems.

Conclave starts today. Actually, I think it started while we were sleeping.

3 This just proves that the government agencies aren't interested in delivering the best service at the most efficient price, they are only concerned with managing these cuts in a way that hurts the public in a visible fashion, not absorbing them through staff cuts or getting rid of fluff.

17

Good morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes.  Icedog asked me yesterday for a Sinatra story.  IÂ’ve got one you probably havenÂ’t heard, of a little quarrel between The Voice and MGM head Louis B. Mayer, but I need to nail down one or two more details.  So thatÂ’s for tomorrow.  For today, I apologize for being brief, but I only have time for a quick Mae West story:

In a 1934 issue of CollierÂ’s magazine, West told of the time a local reporter called on her for an interview.  “Miss West,” she asked, “do you think you would like to be a mother and would you be a good mother if you were a mother?”  West was flummoxed at the question; after a moment, she said, “Are you a mother?”

The reporter drew herself up and replied stiffly, “I am not.  Nor am I even married.”

“Neither am I,” said West.  “This ought to be a real helpful conversation.”

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

20 I posted this at the very end of the ONT,  but thought I would repeat it here,  just because I am out of patience with the idiots down at IU.

Listening to an Indiana University professor interviewed on the radio about his book "Two Presidents Are Better Than One." He thinks we should have one president from each political party and that they should be forced to work together.

This would cut down on partisanship, he thinks.

I had to go look up the book on Amazon to make sure it was real. It is. The guy has an endowed chair at IU and is apparently insane. Nice use of my tax money.

How do 2 presidents occupy 1 White House? How do you FORCE them to work together? Who is the Commander-in-Chief? Who is the Head of State for foreign affairs? How in the hell would this cut down on partisanship?

There obviously are drugs in the water down in Bloomington.

It's about Romney wanting to index Social Security benefits which the Wall Street Journal said was "tantamount to a tax increase."  The headline writer led one to think it was all about raising income taxes on the middle class,  which it is not.

Do those who have a family tendency to die young but are not from the races which die young, do you get an exemption as well?  Or are longer-lived races to be denied Medicare treatment so that things are "evened out?"

Maybe the thing to do is to increase the average life span of certain races instead.  Put Rahm Emanuel in charge of the study group.

So under a Dem president, Wall Street is able to flourish due to keen government investment strategies, coupled with the market's inherent freedom when unencumbered by the trillions of dollars in SS funds that would almost certainly weigh it down and eventually sink it like a stone. So: Wall Street high under Republican - crooked sham Wall Street high under Democrat - clear sign of competence Conclusion - SS better served with imaginary borrowed money

69 The entire SS argument is BS

Post from yesterday

WaPo shows us what the next scam will be in the budget debate and entitlements.

It seems there is a difference in the life expectancy between rich communities and poor communities and they want to look at how that effects SS. They are using the same bogus methodology as they always have. “Life Expectancy” as it is currently calculated has no bearing on SS which is not paid until the 60s. As currently calculated, life expectancy is calculated using the averages beginning from birth to death.

Of course these “poor” communities have a lower life expectancy. That is because a great many more of them die in those critical years between 0 and 30 from a variety of problems. But if you go and look at the average age reached before death after they reach the age of 60 I would suspect there is very little difference. But you can expect to see this “age gap” touted as problem requiring more for the FSA.

- Strip the 800 Billion+ stimulus from the CR budget.

- Eliminate base line budgeting and automatic increase, make every program sing for it's supper.

- 15% cut to all federal employees (2.65 Million to 2.25 Million)

- Cut all tax rates and institute add 10% tax rate on those who do not currently pay taxes under our progressive tax system.

This is nothing more than an attempt to create a scapegoat (Boomers) while distracting the younger people from paying attention to WHO has stolen and misused the money from Social Security. The same thing is being done with healthcare through the robbing of Medicare to fund coverage for younger Americans.

The arguing between generations will escalate from the blogs to the cable TV shows and eventually to families.  It will poison the social fabric and is a deliberate attempt to sow envy and hatred.  No good will come of it.

127 Social security was never meant to be a fixed income retirement program. In the decades after 1935, politicians used it to garner votes promising more and more money to more and more people. Our grandparents and great grandparents bought into it without doing the math. HR 4120 To alleviate the hazards of old age, unemploy ment., illness, and dependency; to establish a Social Insurance Board in the Depart ment of Labor, to revenue, and for other purposes. The hazards of old age, not a new caddy payment. If OSP was in charge it would go back to it's original intent. To keep the old and crippled from dying in the gutter. The SS tax would be reduced to 1.5% with no cap. The only thing that should garner you an SSI check would be if you had absolutly nothing else to fall back on. Those seniors who have homes savings and income and still recieve SSI are generals in the free shit army. Although they will still scream, jump up and down and say it's THEIR MONEY!. Morning all!

So that story about the Brooklyn riot is muddled, or at least it is to me this    early in the morning, but this passage stuck out to me.

[New York City Councilman Jumaane D. Williams]     later described the scene of chaos in Flatbush, saying that garbage cans had been overturned and people smashed out windows. He added that one person had been attacked outside of a local Rite Aid.

‘Tonight was a peaceful vigil that devolved into a riot,’ he wrote. ‘The youth in this community have no outlets for their anger, no community.’

To which my response is, "Then you're a pretty shitty city councilman, aren't you, Mr. Williams?"

I know it sounds terribly callous, and no one    wants     to see a teenager shot and killed, but maybe if the "community" in which these kids live didn't    maintain the kind of mentality that would justify        rioting because their peaceful protest march was "impeded,"    then maybe, just maybe, those kids would have more of a future than they have now.     Maybe, just maybe, they'd realize that "peaceful protest" is not the same as "peaceful protest until someone gets in our way, in which case     free-for-all wins the day."     And maybe, just maybe, this young man wouldn't have     made it a habit of breaking the law,     culminating in    the      stupid decision      to carry a .357 magnum around in his waistband like a wannabe gangsta.

I'm not giving the cops a pass on this, btw.  The kid was shot eleven times.   That's what I call     overkill.   What,     were they taking lessons from the    LAPD?

PS -- Yet again, my loathing of the term "community" comes to the forefront with a vengeance.   I hate that word now as much as I hate the word "synergy," a feat I never thought     possible.

We're gonna have ass-loads of old people who didn't or couldn't or wouldn't save money for retirement and who had worked dumb-ass McJobs their whole lives [because they took Gender Studies and the economy sucked-ass for so long]. Yes, they're dumb but nobody wants to see starving asshole old people and some of them are going to be parents of kids who don't want to take care of them either, and besides they all vote.

So the best anybody can hope for is 1] nobody eats dog food to get by, or the dog. We return SS to a subsistence program and make the safety net that, no longer a hammock, by tossing off the scammers. Yes, that does mean means testing, and stricter qualifying measures all round. 2] nobody wants to see Obamacare kill off old people by the gross either, but thats the only other means to straighten the mess out, if we're talking things and not people. 3]? 146 #129  Thomas Sowell has a wonderful article which addresses this in Real Clear Politics today.

He says that first through the progressive's theories of eugenics (in which some races were thought to be inferior) and then through the idea of discrimination (in which certain groups were held back),  certain groups are left thinking they cannot achieve,  either because of their own incompetence or because of the malice of others.  Multiculturalism never lets them adopt elements of other cultures without being thought traitors to their race,  so they are trapped in a culture of despair and resentment,  always blaming others for their lack of achievement.

And a permanent, resentful underclass is exactly what certain politicians want.

But the FSA has found the keys to the castle through disability and unless the keys get wrestled back, it's doomed. You can't have a one to one ratio of workers to recipients. Nobody will work. The assumptions made during its creation are a complete mismatch from today's reality. Fewer children, and people live(and work!) longer. Less kids is bad, but lousy economies means fewer kids. Mr Williams later described the scene of chaos in Flatbush, saying that garbage cans had been overturned and people smashed out windows. He added that one person had been attacked outside of a local Rite Aid.

‘Tonight was a peaceful vigil that devolved into a riot,’ he wrote. ‘The youth in this community have no outlets for their anger, no community.’

159 I look at the race issue thus: I have read that there is more genetic variation within a troupe of chimps than there is between an Eskimo and an Englishman. This infers we all came from a tiny genetic pool originally. So any other differences between groups are a result of cultural choices. Why, me of course.

"RINO Romney wanted to turn SS into a real welfare program and shit on seniors who actually worked for a living before retiring"

SS has always been a welfare program.  It has never been anything else.  Most particularly, it has NEVER been a savings program that you "paid into".

Your politicians have lied about this for the last 70 years.  Stunning, I know, but there it is.

The SS tax and the SS welfare program are entirely separate.  Roosevelt's own justice department argued as such in the case before the Supreme Court that challenged the Constitutionality of the SS programs.

210 Why the Old Guard of the Republican Party needs dragged out in the street and horse whipped:

"But even pushing for a vote has exposed some serious Republican divisions on continuing the fight against Obamacare. In the House, the GOP leadership wouldn't allow a vote on a defund-Obamacare measure before passing a continuing resolution last week. And at a meeting of Senate Republicans recently, several lawmakers spoke out against Cruz's plan, with some raised voices. Obamacare is a reality, one lawmaker argued; there's just been an election that was in part a referendum on it, and Republicans lost."

--From the Examiner article on Cruz.

228 RINO Romney wanted to turn SS into a real welfare program and shit on seniors who actually worked for a living before retiring

Vic, Social Security was never a retirement program.  It was the first of many wealth redistribution systems.

SCOTUS ruled that it was unconstitutional to force people to pay into a retirement program, I believe back in the 60s.  FDR's people knew that back when they started it.

If it's a retirement program, why does Congress have to fund it for each new session?

And the means testing, Democrats would have never gone along with it.  To do so would have meant that SS was a welfare program instead of a retirement plan.

GOP Leadership choosing the next "deserving" candidates
+ Republican cheerleader voters
= bitter clingers

Romney himself said not to ask him how to win. Why drag that bag of bones out for oracle advice? After GWB, McCain, Romney, '12 Convention "Leaders" striking party rules behind closed doors, go figure. Suan ming

Elitists fail to recognize the voters? Return the favor next ballot. Obviously, strike "electability" propaganda from dialog. Electability, a tinfoil hat.

By all means, remove the McCains and Grahams from re-election primaries. Those two have done FAR WORSE than the much maligned Snowe and Collins. When did Olympia ever sponsor a comprehensive immigration reform package, or the pharmaceutical bill requiring prescriptions to buy "over the counter" vitamins, etc.? Malicious leaders sponsor far more damage than followers, intentions aside. That Rubio gets back slaps from the Grahams is warning not to be advanced to Chief Executive.

Citizenry does itself no favor playing the whipping boy to authoritarians, regardless of party affiliation or ad campaign. We'd do ourselves well to focus support behind the policy efforts carried by Cruz, Paul, Lee.
