Happy Patriot's Day, on which we commemorate the 238th anniversary of resistance to the forces of an arrogant, out-of-control government in a far away land coming after our guns.

Some things never change.

59 What really deserves more attention is the Grand Jury report that revealed the state of Pennsylvania declined to inspect abortion clinics like Gosnell's because it knew so many would fail to meet minimal standards of hygiene and safety and so inspections would reduce women's "access" to abortions.

There is the mentality of the American left on full display.

Roe v Wade was born and survives, the left constantly lectures, out of the necessity of sparing women from the horrors of back alley abortions.

But the Gosnell case reveals that the left will sacrifice women to the horrors of back alley abortions in order to spare Roe v Wade.

95 I really don't see a political solution to any of America's current problems. Out of control debt. Mass influx of low skilled illegal immigrants with no cultural attachment to the country. Declining economy None of those things can be solved by the system of government we have. For whatever reason you want to think believe makes that true, it is true. Probably something everyone should come to grips with....or already has hence the "let it burn" motto.

Haven't the time to read the entire thread so someone else may have had for sure correction. I believe the burning of Waco and Fed building bombing in OKC were on anniversary also.

Good morning, Morons:

Re:  Just Following Orders

Mary Chastain has been furiously cranking out the articles from testimony at the Gosnell try and Grand Jury Report.  There are so many people that were complicit in his crimes it will make your head spin.  Looks like many at the PA DOS and DOH deliberately refused to investigate or report.  I think Mary has five separate stories yesterday about it.

113 I hold no false hope for tipping points that would reverse the doomed course our country and culture are on; we've had our hopes dashed before. But if anything could possibly be one, it would have to be the Gosnell case. It's a tipping point, but we're tipping in the other direction. I assume that you mean that if/when the Gosnell story reaches the public that it will show the left for the ghouls that they are. What I mean by "in the other direction" is that even if the story never reaches the masses, the left's rush to spike the Gosnell story and to spin Gosnell himself as some kind of a pillar of the community is taking a torch to the "benefit of the doubt" sentiment on the right that keeps us on stuck on the stupidity of imagining the left to be anything but enemies. And the LIVs, through their willful ignorance, are complicit.

113 This is going to be hard to do.  I think this time, the MSM won't be able to spin this very favorably.  There are armies of people involved in this cover up, the MSM just the last of them.

Wherever they find scapegoats, the DOH, the DOS, Governor Tom Ridge, the 'conservative media' (see Jim Geraghty's post at NROnline this a.m.) all it's going to show is that the motivation to cover Gosnell was to protect the 'sanctity of abortion'.

137 Posted by: Mr. Pink at April 15, 2013 08:35 AM (++kZl) I and my fellow award winning political consultants advised our clients that people do not want to hear about social issues, and recommended that these were definitely not hills to die on. In fact, our review of all the issues in 2012 indicated there was nothing worth taking a principled stand. Our primary concern was suppressing that "dog on the roof" story and the "car elevator" story--that was really important to show that multi-millionaire Romney was a man of the people at heart. Of course, our secondary concern was making sure we got paid all those big political consultant bucks up front independent of actual results!

140 The thing to keep in mind, above all, about the Gosnell story is that the man took TROPHIES. A legitimate doctor does not have jars of baby feet. Any time they try to pass him off as a "pillar of the community", we need to point that out.

I'd posted a link to the story on Facebook with a comment that the clinic hadn't been inspected in 17 years. My boyfriend reposted it and one of his "friends" responded that it was just a question of needing better inspections and there was nothing political about the story. He just couldn't make the connection that it wasn't inspected for 17 years because it was an abortion clinic. It was totally political.

If we can at least force inspections and force them to enforce laws prohibiting late term abortions, we can stop some of the horror.
