I was and am a tremendous supporter of Sarah Palin, as I hope I've proven here a hundred times.  However, that doesn't mean whatever her position is on every issue I automatically adopt.

 

My support for her is based on character.  I believe she's intelligent, honest and courageous, which are the attributes I look for in elected officials.  Just as I believe her heart and head are in the right place, I also believe others are on the side of conservatives - like Rubio, Toomey, Ryan and various other targets of the purists here.

 

Palin is religious, I'm not.  Palin alerted the country as to "Death Panels", but didn't explain what her solution was.  I'm for death panels, because I recognized that they are the conservative position as opposed to milking taxpayers to provide unlimited healthcare to everyone regardless of common sense.

 

Just because I have a different approach to certain issues doesn't mean I don't support the person.  Every issue should be discussed and argued out instead of being shouted down by unthinking knee-jerk reactionaries.

And then it's not just wages, but all the required benefits, insurance, compliance, etc. 2- It means they'll still have a hefty pool of illegal labor which they can pay nominally more than minimum, but still come out ahead because they won't have to pay benefits, overtime, or anything like that.

Can I help you register to vote?" 3) Economics. We're not talking high-skilled workers here. We're talking people without health insurance and without resources to pay their own medical bills. In essence, we're talking about people who will simultaneously depress wages while increasing the drain on our systems. Now, the problem with amnesty (defined as anything less than deport when found) is that it is a necessary first step to citizenship. Everyone understands that. Cruz opposed this bill while it was still in committee (I don't think he's actually on the committee, though, so his opposition didn't mean anything). When it passed out of committee he opposed it being open for debate. He has tried to add amendments that would either actually fix some/most of Conservatives' problems with the bill, or be a "poison pill" to kill it (sometimes both). He says he will oppose cloture. What that tells me is that his priorities are right- There's no reason for this bill at this time. Let's fix border security first, then come back to this discussion. So, yes, he "supports" an amnesty. I do not think he would even be talking about it right now, but Rubio decided to join McLame and Grahamnesty, and that kind of forced his hand.
