Happy Tuesday.

Survey finds 76% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck.

The President, still in search of a topic change, will today give a speech about global warming. He's going to sidestep Congress and crack down on power plants via the EPA.

The IRS reported yesterday that an IRS investigation has cleared the IRS of intentionally targeting conservatives because, IRS says, it also had progressive groups on its BOLO list. Of course, observes David Freddoso, that's garbage that ignores the difference between 501 c(3)s and 501 c(4)s. There's no evidence that liberal groups faced harassment like conservative ones.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court issued six decisions, including a disappointing punt on the issue of affirmative action in college admissions. Five decisions remain in the term and the high court will issue at least one and possibly all of them this morning at 10am.

2 Good Morning Morons.  Today is Tuesday, June 25, 2013.  On this day in 1876 George Armstrong Custer and 268 of his men met their fate in Montana at a place called Little Big Horn.  In short, he was stupid.

3 Silicon Valley has lobbied a lot for the amnesty Bill that passed the Senate (with less than 70 votes).  It must have some shit in it for High Tech workers that we have not heard about.  This kind of shit pisses me off as well.  Right now there is high unemployment in this area and they want cheap labor coming in.  Piss on these people.

5 Back in Oct 2011  King Obama signed an executive order to crack down on whistleblowers.  Remember when these were heroes when the Evil Buuuush was President.  Now they are “insider threats”.  The order applies to ALL government agencies regardless of security status.  So that tells you what they are really after.

6 The chickenshit Supremes sent the AA case back to the lower court.  I figured they would blow it off but I didnÂ’t figure this.  The question is, why did they agree to even hear the case.  Most likely the 4 wanted to hear it and thatÂ’s all it takes to get it on the docket.  But the 4 liberals were violently opposed to doing anything about the unconstitutional and illegal AA bullshit so there was no way they would be able to settle the case.  Yes, if we had 2 new judges appointed by someone other than Obama we may have gotten rid of AA.

9 A new “study” says 3rd hand smoke is dangerous now.  The second hand study was such a farce a judge threw it out of court, but it is still being touted.  Why donÂ’t these Nazis go ahead and make cigarettes illegal?  This at the same time States across the country make smoking dope legal.  But who says politics and politicians have to be rational.

55 Lame Cherry take on the immigration vote Upon inquiry, a call was made by the Jinn to Mormon Hatch of Utah. The call was conducted directly a the Jinn hates Hatch. The content was simple in Hatch frequents on a monthly basis an apartment in DC run by a burb brothel which uses under age girls. Hatch hooks up with a regular there in the 16 to 17 year old range. Cialis is involved. It was this information which moved Hatch to vote for the border buster overthrow of America. It was not necessary, but as stated the Jinn detests Hatch. That part is fascinating as a demonic entity exhibiting what would seem base human nature in just doing something because it could. Hatch to save his twilight reputation did the affirmative vote. It was the girl thing which has him as Ted Kennedy's best bud which never made any sense, unless of course buds of a bush pollinate together. Once they get the real cloture vote then it goes to simple majority.  In effect, the cloture vote is the vote to pass the bill.

As I've been saying, the dirty little secret of this bill is that 40% of illegals are visa overstays..  a lot of them were here on high tech H-1B visas and never went home.. and many more just came to visit and never left.  They are well educated and just waiting for their chance to take our high tech jobs.

102 "The vote -- which was technically a vote to shut down debate on the amendment -- needed 60 senators to proceed. That it attracted 67 senators effectively demonstrates the entire bill likely has more than enough votes to pass the chamber."

The Horker amendment, full of pork and flash, was the 'Pubs white flag in the Senate.  It's the beard they need to say they wanted stronger border enforcement, without actually having stronger border enforcement - which would piss off the Chamber and agri-business donors.  They will shut down debate on the whole bill by 62-38 if we are lucky, probably 65-35.

The pictures of Schmucky Sleaze with the gang of 8 were pretty telling.  He looked like a fucking ghoul as that imbecile Rubio did his bidding like a puppet.  McCain looked like somebody who'd suffered a stroke from the weird not-in-contact-with-reality look on his face.  McQueeg has never been remotely close to what you'd call "intelligent"; that's a documented fact.  And the vanity of that egomaniacal cocksucker would never allow him to admit he'd suffered a petit or grand mal.  So who knows what goes on in his empty head, other than it's not good for the country.

Posted by: sven10077 at June 25, 2013 03:36 AM (NFAtT)

108 From what I understand there will be a real cloture vote later this week (this was billed as a "test" vote).  After that vote, which they now know will pass, they will vote on the actual bill and that will only need 51.

It then goes to the House. Conservatives are calling on Boner to not bring it to floor.  He can do that if he doesn't break down in the fit of tears.  The problem if he brings it to the floor and they vote it down, there is still a pathway in a joint House/Senate conference to iron out a "compromise".

Communication from the switchboard requires English. (Given the socialists' emphasis on the collective, you'd think the assimilation into English would have their undivided support. Rather, "the collective" is merely a "nice" reference to herding cattle, sheep and swine into corrals for sheering and slaughter.) What caught my eye in the Drudge linked NYPD article was the police spokesman's explanation, a proponent of the "One Voice" meme propagandized by the initiation of Obama's administration. "We must speak in One Voice." The rest? Words. Just words. Distinction: language v. voice.

Posted by: HoboJerky, Hash Hunter at June 25, 2013 07:29 AM (X4HxX)

I like Scott Walker and I think he is definitely one of the GOP leaders who probably "really has what it takes." I just worry about the levels of union money in this country that will be used to attack him if he runs for President? It could be even more substantial than we've seen used against any previous GOP presidential candidate. Or the attacks on him not having a college degree? Or the attacks, like occurred during the recall election last year, related to the supposedly illegitimate child he was accused of having during his college years? Plus, whatever happened to those accusations of ethics violations by him during his time as governor? I forgot what the resolution was regarding those.

I know, there is no perfect GOP candidate and the Left will find a way to attack anyone who is the GOP candidate, but he really will be ripe for the standard attacks from the Left about Republicans being anti-working person (i.e., unions), anti-education, and a fraud when it comes to family values and ethics. Walker's no "shrinking violet" and has some exemplary leadership abilities so perhaps he could weather the attacks from the Left, but it certainly won't be easy. Then again, it won't be easy for any GOP candidate in 2016.

Posted by: Dale Gribble at June 25, 2013 06:58 AM (+kznc)

The Founders missed a key criterion for public service because not many people in the 1770's doddered into their nineties with an attendant and a drool cup and would have a party that maintained that they were intellectually functional.  They also thought that elected officials might have at least a small element of pride and be members of a community that would not hesitate to call them out in public.

The most critical Amendment that they missed was to establish term limits for every freaking federal public office for position of power, appointed or elected.

The unions have been going all out to attack Republicans and support Democrats for the last 50 to 75 years.  The only reason they cut back slightly in the last election is because they are growing broke.

They can't attack Republicans any harder than they have been.  One thing we do need to do is quit worrying about what pressure groups will attack out candidates.  That is what gets the lackluster milquetoast candidates nominated and the Democrats winning.

We need a conservative firebrand.  Unfortunately I don't think that Walker is that anyway.  We need a Gowdy clone.

Yeah, I knew they went nowhere and I remember his response and the response of his supporters in Wisconsin but I didn't know if investigations of the alleged "ethics violations" were still ongoing.

Unless something comes out about Walker we've never heard, I would have no problem voting for him as POTUS but I do think that it would be an uphill battle. Although it was due to the feckless Romney/Ryan campaign, I would certainly have a little more faith if he had helped deliver Wisconsin for them in 2012. I know, Ryan, who is from Wisconsin, deserves blame for that, too.

I don't think the founders imagined that the current slough of grifters who use elected office as a career wouldn't be given the bum's rush by an educated electorate.  They were also caught up in the high regard for freedom at the time which is now just a vague memory.

That certainly didn't help, as it took some of the focus off of Clinton and resulted in Bush being attacked by two other candidates all the time, neither of whom ever really attacked each other. It would have been difficult for a good candidate with a strong record -- which certainly didn't describe George H.W. Bush -- to win in that situation.

No, it doesn't.  Gomez is a turncoat POS who was a bundler for the dog-eating cokehead,  begged Deval "Mini-Me" Patrick for a job and now swears he's a "new kind" of Republican, which is Dem-speak for "Obama's chew toy."  There is no way that having that asshole in the Senate will be any different than having Markey stink up the joint.  Massachusetts is an asshole state filled with Obama-fellating clowns who deserve the living-from-paycheck-to-paychek lifestyle.  Fuck 'em.

254 " The only reason they [unions v. GOP] cut back slightly in the last election is because they are growing broke. " And the realization from the rank and file that their union leaders have fucked the membership. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the hordes of the immigrating labor force is arriving to displace the "incumbent" employed union membership. And on that count, the GOP will NEVER get support from the Americans that Country Club assholes keep fucking, "Because I Could." Tit.Tat. Spare the trickle down propaganda, and skip the 1% pays 80% of the nation's tax burden lies. I've argued that labor laws have made unions redundant. But corrupt government forces choose which laws to ignore. And at the other end, officials actually succeed in prosecuting/convicting based on PC policy, laws be damned. Irony, exposed again by socialist policy. Whether liberal-100% taxation Marxist or the "we're better" veiled neoconservative big-gov authoritarian, the more "helpful" means more harm done. I'm not convinced that corrupt unions have done more harm to America than our corrupt Congress, Judicial with Executive Branches, and "shared values" corrupt crony capitalists running both major political parties. All the incumbent "leadership" are bought and paid for by global corporatist interests, which exploit mercilessly. What last irony, if the union membership finally resist their globalist overlords, and prove to be heroes in the end. Remember Lech Wałęsa.

I can attest to the living paycheck to paycheck thing.  Before I retired from civil service most of the people who worked for me were putting ZERO dollars into their TSP (401K).  They were giving up the free match the government will give them if they contribute.  I chatted with most of them about it and explained how they were cheating themselves.  Most said they simply could not afford to contribute.  Granted these were GS 5-6 people who don't make a ton of money, but they were so extended that they couldn't put 5% pre tax into savings.

282 274. Rather, remember Matthew 5 ...And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. From Matthew 26 ..."Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 275. Be careful what you pray for. The same could apply to whom/what you pray. "Thy will be done" covers the works of Jesus Christ. I can't help asking for the American Spirit of Liberty to ignite again in our hearts and minds. Granted, everyone wants their OWN liberty. Our society shares in common with Jesus' day abusive authoritarians and the promotion of empire. Today's Ivy League elitists emulate the abusive, self-righteous scribes/Pharisee conceit, to create and impose laws on those people most heavily burdened in life, the poor, laws which the lawmakers themselves absolutely ignore except to prosecute upstarts for harboring a flicker of hope. "Because I Could" Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Matthew 4:8

284 It's a minor thing, given that Congress is once again ass-raping us all and then having us clean them up orally, but . . .

Bird Feeder Guy sounds like a 77-year-old, disabled, asshole.

"the wire wreath-style feeder filled with peanuts is drawing ducks, deer, geese, squirrels, chipmunks and groundhogs to the neighborhood. The animals are damaging neighbors' gardens"

If this is actually true, then he's putting out an "attractive nuisance" that's fouling the neighborhood for all of its residents, just so Bird Feeder Guy can get his jollies watching Bambi, Chip and Dale come by to much on his peanuts.  That would be fine if that was all that was happening.  But apparently, that's not all that's happening.

The general rule for a liberal, civil society is "you can do whatever you want, as long as you don't harm anyone else in the doing."

The second part of the clause is usually neglected (see:  amnesty).  It's the part of the equation that separates classical-liberalism/libertarianism from anarchism.

There's actual harm going on here, and it's quite possibly being caused by Bird Feeder Guy's bird feeder.  On the way to Bird Feeder Guy's feeder, Bambi, Chip and Dale are stopping by to munch down on the neighbor's petunias and other shrubbery.  That's actual harm, folks.

From the sparse info in the article, this doesn't look to me to be a bullshit, second-hand-smoke-type, "I'm personally deeply offended by your gauche and uncivilized habits and demeanor, so I'm calling The Man on you" situation.

All of Maricopa County's fertile earth has been paved over, and overrun, first by snowbirds, now illegal aliens. pfft Granted, prior to FDR's unprecedented 1st 100 Days comprehensive legislative passage of socialism, during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl tragedies, there were poor farmers. True enough, they survived subsistence livings with food, unless they were part of the Dust Bowl drought region. But they were often "dirt poor" without new clothes or plumbing, electricity in homes. The subsidy legislation was sold as if compassionate, revealing so long ago exactly what deceit is. Propaganda's gone overboard, selling slavery to globalist "investment" industry, and failing the rule of law: Too big to fail is too big to jail. FDR certainly knew how to sugar coat bullshit. The agribusiness corporatists certainly had their poor* rocky soil Yankee farmer poster boy to propagandize in order to secure national congressional votes for subsidies back in the day. *Jonah Goldberg relates in his Fascism book.
