26 It must be so nice knowing that when you can't even convince the public in a liberal wetdream land of California that two dudes living together is not marriage that the government will destroy the rule of law and engage in tyranny to force the serfs to have to aknowledge your emotional immaturity that makes you think your love isn't real without government endorsement.

28 Not Vic, but I got something Today in the RCC it's the feast day of St Cyril of Alexandria St. Cyril of Alexandria: Early Church Father and Doctor of the Church St. Cyril of Alexandria became partriarch archbishop of Alexandria, Egypt in 412. He presided over the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus which defined the inseparable unity of the divine and human natures of Christ. He died in 444AD. .... With the (Holy) Spirit within them it is quite natural for people who had been absorbed by the things of this world to become entirely other-worldly in outlook, and for cowards to become men of great courage. There can be no doubt that this is what happened to the disciples. The strength they received from the Spirit enabled them to hold firmly to the love of Christ, facing the violence of their persecutors unafraid. Very true, then, was our SaviourÂ’s saying that it was to their advantage for him to return to heaven: his return was the time appointed for the descent of the Holy Spirit. "face the violence of their persecutors unafraid" Always good to have the Holy Spirit within. It will be more necessary as intimidation of Christian likely increases under "faithful Christian" Obama and his henchmen and women. St Cyril pray for us.

57 As far as the gay thing--I really hope they put as many screws on as they wish, because I also hope the more-traditional parts of the world are watching--you know, the ones that will eventually have more geopolitical power than we and Europe do--and I hope they see the Trojan Horse coming for what it is. The message they should take away is "eff them before they eff you, because they intend to."

I am basically at the point where I have no problem with marriage expansion. I would like it debated as such.

62 I think they will eventually try to force the issue of gay marriage in churches, but it will be a tough row to hoe. Even in Canada where they're off the charts in PC correctness they have not forced churches to perform gay weddings.-at least in the RCC There was a case recently in the SC where they wanted the government to be involved in who gets hired and fired in a church. It did not past muster. What you will see first is radical gays ramping up vandalism and destruction of churches and an attempt to remove tax free status

63 Notes from the African Embarrassment tour:

TFG actually brought up gay marriage to the president of Senegal, a country whose citizens are Muslim and Roman Catholic.  The president said the State would not change its laws until the citizens changed their minds about this.

A two-fer: embarrassment at Obama brining it up,  and embarrassment that a sitting US president was shown to be a jerk by a small African country, whoe president has more wisdom than TFG.

Outfits of 3 Obama females off plane: various and assorted westernized African styles.  Complete description towards the end of the ONT thread.

Circulating blood cells collected from the tail of a donor mouse were used to produce the clone, a team at the Riken BioResource Center reports in the journal Biology of Reproduction.

The female mouse lived a normal lifespan and could give birth to young, say the researchers. Scientists at a linked institute recently created nearly 600 exact genetic copies of one mouse.

We can't legislate around both paradigms, so pick one.

Posted by: lowandslow at June 27, 2013 04:09 AM (Fz2C7)

125 62 I think they will eventually try to force the issue of gay marriage in churches, but it will be a tough row to hoe.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at June 27, 2013 07:51 AM (MWJLy)

They may not try to force churches to marry them for some time, but it will happen.  Because that is the goal.  Its never been the gay agenda.  Its the progressive agenda wrapped up in a rainbow.  And some people who claim to be intelligent and on the right are just too stupid and willfully ignorant to admit it because their emotionalism trumps their brain.

But what they will do right away is sue anyone that deals with the wedding industry that does not wish to participate in a gay wedding due to religious views.  You're a catholic that does wedding photography?  Lawsuit.  They'll also go after churches by suing not to use the church but any other facilities or land that church owns that people do use for ceremonies or receptions.

Student Loan forgiveness would produce inflation faster than QE5405.

You'd effectively be creating money out of thin air and handing to many many people who simply don't understand how to manage money.

You can (in fact) accelerate an economy too fast in the wrong places.  I've always said that there's no reason I should shoot myself in the foot economically to make a statement.  Student Loan forgiveness may be a bridge to far on that one though where I may do so just for that reason.

Or, as I tell Mrs VIA, when the four of us get together, three of us even like the same thing. Both of them wish to take a firearms course, same as Mrs VIA. All three are going to sign up together to take the course, to provide moral support for each other.

Ocean Grove, a United Methodist Church in New Jersey, was successfully sued by a lesbian couple for not allowing them to be married on Ocean GroveÂ’s grounds. The site in question is Ocean GrovesÂ’ seaside pavilion which is used in worship ceremonies. Ocean Grove argued under the First Amendment they have the right to not allow marriages they do not recognize on their grounds, the judge did not agree. Judge Solomon Metzger ruled Ocean Grove had to allow such marriages then went one step further and revoked Ocean Groves tax-exempt status on the pavilion and surrounding grounds. The tax-exempt status has since been re-instated for most of the grounds after the church re-filed for the exemption.

Polygamy activists have spoken of their hopes that the Supreme Court's landmark rulings on gay marriage could lead to a breakthrough for their cause too.

'I was very glad,' polygamist Anne Wilde told Buzzfeed in the aftermath of the rulings. 'The nuclear family, with a dad and a mom and two or three kids, is not the majority anymore.'

Anita Wagner Illig, a leading polygamy activist as head of the group Practical Polyamory, told U.S. News & World Report that gay-rights campaigners had set a welcome precedent.

'We polyamorists are grateful to our brothers and sisters for blazing the marriage equality trail,' she said.

I think for a brief space of time the suits will not be successful But the quotes following the article are helpful: "The whole course of Christianity from the first is but one series of troubles and disorders. Every century is like every other, and to those who live in it seems worse than all times. The Church is ever ailing…. Religion seems ever expiring, schisms dominant, the light of truth dim, its adherents scattered. The cause of Christ is ever in its last agony." - Blessed John Henry Newman "Actually I am a Christian, and indeed a Roman Catholic, so that I do not expect ‘history’ to be anything but a ‘long defeat’." - JRR Tolkien We should be prepared for an expect adversity.

I feel bad for people who lost their jobs and had trouble paying their mortgages.

Trust me, as someone currently out of work with a Wife starting Furloughs in a week or so, I get it.  It's tough as shit.

On the flip side, savings is important.  And sometimes you have to dip into your retirement funds to make ends meet as a second-to-last resort.

Failing that, this country has set up a system of bankruptcy for people whose asset value has substantially diminished.  (Homes are an investment, sometimes they go down.)  It's worked reasonably well so far, I have no idea why the fuck we tinkered with it during the bailout.

(Making student loans non-dischargeable was also a bit stupid though.  I get the concern that people will declare bankruptcy right out of college to discharge them, but there had to be a better way to handle that.)

On the surface it looks like the American armed forces have executed a stunning reversal on the issue of gay troops in just 21 months — the time spanning the end of 'DonÂ’t Ask DonÂ’t Tell' and the Defense of Marriage Act, struck down Wednesday by the Supreme Court.

And while gay service members and their spouses say military culture has moved toward acceptance and away from whispers, investigations and the shadowy lives they once were forced to lead, they contend that subtle resistance still exists in some command pockets.

In short: The landscape has been outwardly transformed — yet hints of unresolved disquiet still exist, some insiders say.

278 So... it sounds like TX will indeed have another special session just to pass our abortion bill- one vociferously opposed by the organization founded by (and which still honors by giving an award in her name) Racist Eugenicist Margaret Sanger. I'm of two minds about this one, really. First, there's the not-insignificant expense. Had Speaker Strauss and Lt. Governor David "It's My Turn" Dewhurst actually done their jobs, it would have passed in either the regular session or the first special session. Now, we have to pay for yet another special session. I know we have some extra money coming up, but this is a piss poor way to spend it. On the other hand, the bill is a good, solid bill which will (likely) save thousands (or tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands) of lives of innocent children. Their mothers, too, since it also (thanks for the tip, tsrblke) defines all abortion clinics as Ambulatory Surgery centers- with all the oversight, and licensure* that entails. That being the case, I support this bill and hate the despicable tactics used to prevent its passage, so anything that tells the Democrats (and their ginned up mob allies) that they don't get to override the will of the majority just by being louder is good. *- Firefox, why do you not recognize the term "licensure?"

Obviously diversity is essential to nature, but diversity is also hard to control, and agriculture (like research) requires a certain amount of control as well, and so really isn't comparable to what happens in nature vis a vis natural selection.

281 Conservative will continue to lose until we start adopting the same methods as the left. The Catholic Church should start organizing massive protests at the homes of the Supreme Court members who voted for Gay Marriage and those of their families. Catholic and Evangelical Churches should start a movement to stop engaging in economic activity until DOMA is reinstated and Prop 8 is put into force. If we don't start to actively push back against this Government it is only going to be a short matter of time until we have all our rights stripped away from us.

I think he's still hanging around the Yahoo group, but he's royally ticked at Gabe, and, by extension, Ace. And I'll actually go so far as to mostly agree on being ticked at Ace. I know he thinks the cobs are more important than the commenters, but even if that were true (and it's debatable- I file it under "chicken and egg"), he still has a responsibility to his audience (that's us) to keep his cobs civil. Gabe routinely fails on that score, and ace routinely defends him instead of the Horde. Now, me? I mostly just ignore Gabe and get on with it. But that's not a reasonable position to assume everyone is going to take. Yesterday was especially bad because Gabe was spiking the football on a couple of very bad decisions (yes, both the DOMA decision and the Prop 8 decision were terrible for various reasons), and ace wouldn't even make his own opinions on the matter known- except for being upset at the way SCOTUS shot down Prop 8.

Anyway, Perry is claiming some other road funding stuff didn't get done either.  But I'm not huge on TX politics so I don't know what's going on.

(I tried at one point to get my wife to take a job in Austin, so I could at least be in "Texas" even if in the cloud of Austin.  But alas, she did not bite.)

Meanwhile, Obama's pledge to bring those who attacked that dude, Ben Gazi, to justice, is looking even sillier than the day he read it off of TOTUS:

"LibyaÂ’s government earlier this month released a key terror suspect who U.S. officials say was involved in planning the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on U.S. diplomatic and intelligence facilities in Benghazi.Faraj al Chalabi, (also spelled Shibli) an al Qaeda terrorist also linked to the 1994 terrorist murder of two German tourists, was detained by the Tripoli government in March.

However, al Chalabi was released June 12 based on claims that there was a lack of evidence to hold him custody."

I highly doubt even a Catholic hospital would deny a doctor admitting privileges because they provide abortion.

I'm highly critical of the current use of the principle of cooperation in regards to hospitals expanding there money making pools.

Having said that, even if the law requires it, I'm not sure the admitting privileges are "material" in the moral sense to the performing of the abortion. (Because the act can be done w/o the privileges, it'd just be illegal, but legality has no bearing on the materiality for a moral sense.)

But it's a subtle point I suppose.

378 Second return salvo: The hospitals will deny privileges to docs who do abortions and then you will have banned abortion!!!!! First: No, they won't. They may not provide privileges for the docs to do elective D&C/D&S on premises (actually, they won't even do that, but I'm rolling with the insanity here), but if something goes wrong, they'll want the doctor (or at least A doctor) who does elective D&C/D&S available to consult. See also: potential risks. Second: If they won't, then doesn't that suggest that hospitals have some *reason* for not granting the privileges? I mean, the liberal side has cried for years about how the medical profession is only in it for the money- to the point of slanderously claiming that doctors perform unnecessary amputations just to make more money. So if they're so money grubbing, why wouldn't they want such a renewable source of income? Hmmm?? The only way to square that circle is that elective D&C would be a net *loss* of income, and the only way that works is if the instance rate for complications is rather higher than the baby-murderers would have you believe.

385 362 JJ Sefton the guy is still an active pilot. At age 94. In WWII he flew the B-17 in combat. And a bush pilot since 1947. He obviously knows whet he is doing. He also has a bucket list of planes to fly. The B-17 and P-51 he has done already. B-25 is also on the list. 516 The P-82/F-82 was designed by North American to be long range escort fighters.  To take off from the Marianas with the B-29s and escort them all the way to Japan and back.  Luckily the capture of Iwo Jima allowed regular P-51Ds to fly the escort missions.  Then with the end of the war, the need for F-82s diminished and production was cut.

One P-82B Betty-Jo flew from Hawaii to New York non-stop.  Normal range was 2,200 miles.  Top speed of 482mph.  Normally only had 6 .50cal machine guns in the wing center between the two fuselages.  But could be fitted with a gun pod on the wing center, this same location would be used to mount the radar that made the F-82G a night fighter.  It was Japan based F-82s during the evacuation of Seoul in the early days of the Korean War that scored the first USAF victories of that conflict.

519 I don't get the George Zimmerman love. Yes, he's getting railroaded by a racist media machine in a court that seems bent on imposing social justice irrespective of guilt. But he's also an Obama loving Democrat who voted over and over for the very system that's now fucking him. So in that sense he's merely reaping what he's sown for his entire adult life. Having removed my "I must oppose any and all media narratives" goggles and properly reformulated the fiasco as "racist Obama loving Democrat kills other racist Obama loving Democrat and then gets railroaded by racist Obama loving media and public court system," I've decided I couldn't care less what happens to his sorry ass. Having reset my thinking thusly, the evidence objectively appears to show that Zimmerman, a Billy Bad-Ass type walking the HOA beat with a fucking gun, did indeed have a hard-on for tracking Martin, an admittedly useless gansta in training who would have wound up dead or in prison soon enough anyway, with the final result being that Zimmerman (who interestingly is less white than Barack Obama but more black than Homer Plessy) sent Martin to an early grave, only to have Martin strike back from beyond said grave by tossing Zimmerman into a hellhole of political correctness. In the end, they each found the devil they were looking for all along.

638 248, 284 It's absolutely sickening to find that our own duly elected "kinder, gentler" government has converted itself into another authoritarian empire. Like the NAZI 1933 Enabling Act, "our" Patriot Act established DHS uber alles, empowering the political police US equivalent to the NAZI SS with all its incognito networking of branches to halt all opposition. Netflix streams "The War Zone" (1999) documentary series. Episodes: 3. Waffen SS 4. Gestapo 13. Occult History of the Third Reich: SS Blood and Soil I had always wondered why the "SS" seemed to be everywhere in the Third Reich, yet under various roles/names and top dogs under Hitler. I also cringe that The Greatest Generation which "defeated" Hitler, ended up bringing it home as the victory prize, leaving their own children and grandchildren with hell to pay again. No, I do not blame the veterans who had their own overwhelming challenges "getting back to normal" getting a job and raising families. I DO BLAME POLITICIANS whose "class" belongs always to the highest bidder. Who else but the body of Congressional Members could get away with voting to thoroughly juxtapose authoritarianism over and above The Supreme Law of the Land via one after another massive and UNREAD (even unwritten prior to vote and potus signature into "Law") comprehensive legislative reform package? I know. Let's take turns with "Shared" Values that translate into rip-off the taxpayers and sell the citizenry for the politicians' own abusively corrupt personal benefit. Impeach? It's the 'jam' on top the buttered side of bread.

643 Judicial Misconduct globalist bank v. non-profit credit union "just saying"... Water-soluble chalk message on sidewalk, and Bank of America got the San Diego CA City Attorney to prosecute Mr. Jeff Olson (age 40) for vandalism, during which trial, the Judge ordered his defense attorney gagged from mentioning any constitutional right of free speech, public discourse, etc. He's been sentenced to serve 13 years in prison. "According to Olson, who spoke with local broadcaster KGTV, one Bank of America branch claimed it had cost $6,000 to clean up the chalk writing [from the public sidewalk]." Oh, I don't doubt that Bank of America's Branch Manager paid HIMSELF $6,000. to spray or sweep the public sidewalk outside. I'd bet the management didn't even have the sidewalk cleaned, but waited for pedestrian traffic to "erase" the chalk.

They ran through the skill, the beauty, the relationship with ruskie royalty, but the more interesting part was what happened to them when the commies seized control. Most escaped but one was imprisoned. They didn't shoot him because they needed some one to appraise all the booty to sell later. It was a shame. The Faberages crime was for working hard, having skills, creating beauty, selling to rich people, and employing people. Russia was a moral dump then and it is a moral dump now. We will never have, nor shd we, normal relations with them.

648 So you don't believe GZ was on the way back to his truck to go meet the police, as he told the 911 operator and is on the recording, when he was confronted by TM? I believe that he called the cops (as he should have) but then followed Martin after being told not to (freaking him out in the process), thereby provoking the attack from which he had to defend himself. I can see this case going either way. Frankly, the state's big witness is abysmal and their case looks like a joke. I'm not saying GZ should be found either guilty or not guilty, I'm saying I don't believe his version of what happened and that he had a clear opportunity to simply walk away (hell, he started off in his car, he could have simply driven away or followed from his car; surely TM wouldn't have committed any neighborhood crimes before the cops showed up if GZ was cruising him in his car)). That said, I also don't believe the state/media version of events, which is really just victim class prioritization ... by their standards fully black >> [1/2 Hispanic + 1/4 black + 1/4 white] and therefore GZ has to hang. That is obviously total bullshit. As I said in my original post GZ is getting railroaded, but he's a dumbass who brought this on himself and is now paying the price.

Consider the police officer assaults on the weakest members of society around America, "Because I Could" get away with brutality "because I felt threatened" by a non-combative naked, autistic 11-year-old girl. Also consider the public schools having children arrested for having made the hand-sign for the letter "L" or for eating a corner from a Pop-Tart or Graham Cracker during snack or lunchtime that made the certified zero-tolerance for age-appropriate public authoritarian curriculum "educator" feel uncomfortable. 656 Blacksheep, so if I go to Walmart at 9pm to buy, say, diapers for my kids because hubby is now home with them, and a cretin comes up at me with a knife in the parking lot and I shoot him, in reality, I brought this on myself for being in the parking lot? Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch person performing his volunteer work in his own neighborhood, where he lived(or was he living somewhere else and spent his nights cruising other's neighborhoods?). Most neighborhood watch programs have signs posted throughout, you know, the signs with the CBS eye on them...Maybe Trayvon didn't see them, or couldn't read them, but he should have at least had some awareness that a gated community might have security. Truthfully, I'm glad there are people like Zimmerman out there willing to spend time "watching" the neighborhood. (That is the entire purpose of neighborhood watches....) From the testimony and 911 calls of the two female neighbors who went hysterical and now can't keep their stories straight, how many of us have neighbors we could really depend on to help in a bad situation?

658 That American consumers still ignore what's happening also doesn't surprise me. So long as they stay employed, no skin off their nose? After all, only tinfoil madhatters like the Tea Party or the neo-hippy anti-1% OW yutes would be crazy enought to protest economic national corruption. Constitutional conservatism "obviously" is based on pot, say neoconservatives. "I heard it, I repeat it. It must be true because I like my own comfortable brand of bigotry." Ye gads. TARP? "Trust Us" Washingtonians: "It happened a long time ago, forgetaboutit." Nothing to do with the private globalist (oxymoron) Federal Reserve corruption for its own Ponzi profits and power. See just how gullible US citizenry taxpayers are to provide "free" funding to global corporatist interests for speculation based on WORSE THAN WORTHLESS "derivative" DEBT, while forcing constitutional conservatives to support the "suspended campaign" Saboteur McCain for Potus because he was "the most electable" whom the GOP Leadership and apologists permitted '08. (By his lost cherry fruit Meghan, he's known.) Next round '12? GOP's own Obamalite propagandized as "Anyone BUTT Obama." Loser. The "bright idea" 1000 points of light still sells in the GOP, as neoconservatives cling bitterly to their "compassionate conservative" authoritarian political puppets. Because they care. They really do. /About their own augmentation of control.

Posted by: panzernashorn at June 27, 2013 07:18 AM (MhA4j)

659 We've already dug our own grave, allowing the Republican Party to abandon fiscal conservatism and limited governance, eschewed by the neoconservative party opportunists who usurped the GOP via Kissinger 1970s Nixon/China bff deal that Congress bought, selling the US down the river ever since. And every potus since Nixon including amnesty "trick" Reagan perpetuates with open borders, regardless of intention. Constitutional conservatives are still subject to idiotic bigotry from the neoconservative rank and file in both major parties who refuse to conduct scholarly research, preferring instead to regurgitate the "appropriate" party sound bites, fearing to stand out in the crowd for constitutional integrity. So much for mutant liberals desiring "living, breathing" death by asphyxiation. The only credibly unapologetic Senators fighting with logic to preserve Liberty with Rule of Law are Cruz and Paul. Aside from those two emulating the best, the rest of the Republican Leadership provides nothing to counter authoritarianism. Rather, they authored it and keep getting it renewed each time the expiration date comes 'round (with more kickbacks). "I abandon my principles in order to save them." [W and Ryan quotes.] So long as the more-is-better GOP amounts to "we do big gov better," we're burying ourselves alive.

660 240 Remember, even civil partnerships is not enough for them. They have to be "married." We have to refer to guys as "wives." Guys = "wives" Sodomy = "missionary position" Gay sex cruises to Central America = "family vacations"

"Costa Rica had a horrible problem with child sex tourism. Have they cleaned that crap up?"
But the fried scorpions and howler monkeys more than make up for this.

662 "Judge now leading witness, trying to help her. Unreal."

If Zimmerman is acquitted, what are the odds that the judge will ever get nominated for a federal district court seat?

663 Texas DPS Officers Farrell and Helleson, guilty as charged. Dobbs women win financial award. Illegal roadside cavity search and seizure of Rx prescription, based on Farrell's claim that he saw a cigarette butt. [and felt threatened//] “This will probably never happen again because of this lawsuit and the attention this has recieved.” Trooper Kelly Helleson was fired earlier this year and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of official oppression. If convicted, she would have to register as a sex offender. [THAT is what will make other officers think twice about abusing their opportunities to perform cavity searches without due cause.] Trooper David Farrell was suspended while officials investigated allegations that he took a prescription bottle of the painkiller hydrocodone from one of the women during the roadside search. [Spanky wrist. Rather than admit he jumped to the wrong conclusion, in the lead, HE told his partner to conduct the cavity search which got her fired.]
