Friday, woooooooo!

Check out this perfect follow-up to Sharknado. The video is something else.

Officials at Death Valley ask that you please stop frying eggs on the pavement. It's making a mess.

Rep. Pelosi gets three Pinocchios for claiming that the Obamacare employer mandate is not being delayed. Fact Checker editorializes: "one can see why most Americans hate politics."

Can't get this freakin song out of my head:

Have a great weekend.

Hello, fellow working chumps and pocketbooks of the FSA, and happy birthday, Sherry!

ItÂ’s another soul-destroying day in Obamerica.

Today IÂ’ve got a quick story about Irving Berlin:

During the filming of 1943Â’s This Is The Army, Berlin took to the soundstage in a WWI uniform to sing his hit, “Oh! How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning.”  While a gifted songwriter, BerlinÂ’s voice was strictly bathroom shower quality.  As he croaked his way through the song, one of the grips turned to his friend and whispered, “If the guy who wrote that song heard this mope sing it, heÂ’d kill himself.”

Later, after the movie had wrapped, Berlin sought out one of the actors.  “You know, young man,” he said, “you have talent.  There are a couple of minor defects – a slight huskiness in the voice, for example – but when the war is over, you should definitely consider a career in show business.”

Captain Ronald Reagan politely refrained from telling Berlin that heÂ’d already made over 20 movies by then.

And now, just continuing my Jean Harlow phase from yesterday – here’s a spicy publicity still from 1930’s Hell’s Angels:

This picture?  Well, I give props to the costume department.  But makeup and hairdressing should be shot:

And thatÂ’s it for me.  Sorry for the light content.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Seems pretty straightforward to me: you signed the baby's death warrant, you should be the one wielding the axe.  There can be no phoning it in, literally.

So what we really have here is the clearest indication we'll need, as to whether ol' Jay has aspirations for higher office.  If he signs it, or more accurately, does not veto it, he's not going to seek higher office.  If he vetoes, that's his indication to the party that he's one of them, and he's dropping the "moderate" democrat label he's  used to  get elected to statewide office, including two terms as  Governor.

The chances are pretty good it goes to the jury today.

Judge and attorneys from both sides will be in court at 8, or 8:30 to go over a few last minute details. The jury is in at 9, and the defense presents it's closing arguments. Figger a couple hours. Break for lunch, reconvene at 1ish for State's rebuttal, which should be short. Jury is read their instructions, and sent off to the deliberation room by two or three pm.

What I think would be icing on the defense cake would be the jury deliberating for all of five minutes, before announcing they'd reached a verdict. Had the state an abundance of damning evidence...such a rapid verdict would favor 'guilty'....and since they don't have an abundance of evidence, (or any evidence at all, really), a quick verdict would favor GZ.

Which makes me wonder...would Judge Judy Snootch accept their verdict, or instruct them to deliberate some more, (wink wink wink winkety wink)?

FS,  Browning was an inventor of guns.

Posted by: BurtTC at July 12, 2013 03:59 AM (BeSEI)

90 John Moses Browning (January 23, 1855 – November 26, 1926), born in Ogden, Utah, was an American firearms designer who developed many varieties of military and civilian firearms, cartridges, and gun mechanisms, many of which are still in use around the world. He is arguably the most important figure in the development of modern automatic and semi-automatic firearms and is credited with 128 gun patents.  He made his first firearm at age 13 in his father's gun shop, and was awarded his first patent on October 7, 1879 at the age of 24.  You may now continue.

I didn't watch your shark tornado movie, but I do recall the tornado movie we were supposed to take seriously.  The one with Helen Hunt, and  Bill Paxton (or whatever his name is).

There were scenes where, from one angle you would see people driving into  away from tornadoes, with cows and tractors flying all over the place, then they would cut to  another view out a different window of the car, and you  would see peaceful skies, with CARS DRIVING  PEACEFULLY TOWARD THE AREA FROM WHICH THE TORNADO IS COMING!!

It was ridiculous, but that's why I watch that movie anytime I come across it.  For the bloopers.

Cryptographer Bruce Schneier said he sometimes also forgoes the benefits of a password manager in favor of passcodes that are easier to remember. The process involves picking a long, memorable sentence and turning it into a password. "When I was seven, my sister threw my stuffed rabbit in the toilet" becomes "WIw7,mstmsritt..." and "Long time ago in a galaxy not far away at all" becomes "Ltime@go-inag~faaa!".

At 2 AM, the only thing open near my work is a Walmart. So I hop in the vehicle and drive over. In order to get to the automotive, you have to pass by sporting goods. I look over and see the stock person is  putting ammo boxes in the display cabinet. He was putting out boxes of .40 FMJ so I asked how much they were. $36 for a 100 rd. box. Those are pre crisis prices so I bought several boxes. He also told me he puts the stuff out about the same time every Thursday/Friday. I guess I'll be stopping over there more often.

Man. it's like this stuff was made to go perfectly with fried food. Really complimented the chicken. Pick up a (admittedly over-priced) 4 pack. You won't be sorry.

349 How much do you want to bet that each and every member of the jury got phone calls from the IRS and a non so subtle message that if they ruled the wrong way they would be getting a ton of trouble. On another note maybe it is time that we start finding local candidates who support secession and backing them. Reason 1. It would send a clear message to the Republican establishment that the base is looking at other options then the same old same old. Reason 2. At the local level they couldn't do to much harm right away.

Goooood morning, all!   I am   torn between being   happy   or being depressed this morning.

Reason to be happy:  FRIDAY

Reason to be unhappy:   Am at work.

Reason to be happy:  I've finally identified the marsh bird I've seen a couple of times on my way home from work as a    Green Heron.      I have decided to name him Hermy.

Reason to be unhappy:   NASCAR traffic.  *whine*

Reason to be happy:  We should have relatively good weather     for     NASCAR.

Reason to be unhappy:   THERE WAS A BIG ASS FUCKING SPIDER WEAVING AN EGG SACK ON THE INSIDE --INSIDE!! - OF MY SLIDING DOOR THIS MORNING.    I came very close to hurling.  It was unbelievably vile.  *turns green*

... I think I'm going to go with "happy" today.   It's    Friday and I've got Hermy to   say hello to on the way home,   and my daddy came and got rid of the disgusting spider for me.   Cuz my dad rules.

So, until the Zimmerman trial starts up again, or someone in Washington does something astoundingly stupid and/or illegal, I'm going to be happy, dammit.

I was pondering this the other day, and although I believe myself to be a principled guy, I think I would be very concerned for my extended families safety and security if I were a juror in this trial.  And I think it is more than the IRS, I think DEA, BATF, and HHS will also have these jurors (and their families) on a Sh#t list for the rest of their lives.  I don't doubt the esteemed NBPP community organizers will "unexpectedly" have access to their records as well.

This country has just about made it to third world status.

I still regret the decision made by twelve of us where we did the splits, not guilty on the big one, guilty on the lesser. That's why they do it that way. If the Zim jury comes back hung on manslaughter, that'll be why. God grant maximum wisdom to those jurors.
