I noticed when some children's parents are in change of an environment with other children (birthday parties, classrooms etc.) some bratty kids will start acting like they fucking own the place.
I was helping my younger son and some other kids with their robotics project on a device on a car to combat drunk driving by those with DUIs (topic assigned to them). They had to address, among other things, the cost of the device, and who would pay.
One bright thing (the scion of a liberal, obviously) chirped reflexively, "We'll have the taxpayers pay for it!"

I think I overstated my point. Of course a person raised with values or who is simply mature realizes that they are most often the source of their own shortcomings. But it is far too easy to point to somebody else as the source of your failures, whether they are "the other" racially or even economically.
I know racism exists (I don't think it's nearly as pervasive as these crazies let on),
I'd argue that it has no measurable aggregate social impact. And I think we all know that the opposite is more true, at least in institutions. Nobody refuses to check the box because they think they'll be discriminated against.
Let's face it, if the manifestations of racism are at the level of complaining that the First Lady rickrolled the Oscars, I think the racism problem is solved.
You know who the meanest people have been to me in this country? Mean African-American women.

The White House was unaware of Immigration Customs and EnforcementÂ’s decision to release detainees until the agency announced it, press secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday.
“This was a decision made by a career officials at ICE without any input from the White House, as a result of fiscal uncertainty over the continuing resolution, as well as possible sequestration,” Carney said.
ICE announced Tuesday that it has released several hundred undocumented immigrants in recent weeks as funding cuts loom. The detainees will instead be monitored in less expensive ways, the agency said.

Obama Onyango told cops he wanted to “call the White House” after he was nabbed for OUI Aug. 24 after nearly plowing his SUV into a police cruiser. He was arraigned Thursday and was ordered held without bail because he was wanted on a federal immigration warrant, officials said.
