US Female Sailor on Leave in Dubai Kicks Would-Be Rapist's Ass

Dubai is not releasing his name, identifying him only as "K S."

He got his ass kicked. And he had a knife, and she was unarmed.

(I guess if this were a movie, this is where Fred Thompson, playing an Admiral, would bark: "A US Naval sailor is never unarmed, punk.")

An off-duty US navy sailor wrestled a bus driver to the ground and beat him into submission after he attempted to rape her at knife point, a court heard yesterday.
Prosecutors said that she knocked the knife from his hand, broke it in two, bit him in the hand, forced him to the ground and locked him between her thighs.

Three shocks follow: He'd been drinking, he seems to be from Pakistan, and he was unable to produce legal ID.

Update/Correction: Apparently the woman was not a US Naval sailor-- or at least people don't think she was. They're thinking maybe she was a civilian sailor.

But it seems sketchy. Who knows, now I don't even know if it was a US citizen, or a woman.

4 ace, there was a story another commenter linked that casts some doubt on the US navy sailor. I can't remember the site, but it said there were no US navy ships in the area at that time. The real ass kicker may have a female US citizen sailing on a civilian or private vessel.

55 Regarding breaking the knife: some knives aren't too hard to break, especially if it's old and/or cheap. The place where the haft meets the blade is the perfect spot, since that's the spot that's under the most stress when the knife is in use. I've broken a couple of cheapo knives just in the kitchen or building armor. That being said, I really hope this isn't a fake news story. I've been needing a pick-me-up after this #FreeJahar BS.

104 It doesn't take Wonder Woman or kung fu to break a knife in two, if we're talking about a folding pocket knife. I've broken a few accidentally. Just push the side of the blade against the floor and you can snap them off with one hand. If there's something you can pry, like the bottom of a seat where it's bolted to the floor, you could do it with a finger and thumb on the handle of the knife.

But if this story actually happened, she probably broke it trying to stab the attacker in the sternum or skull. It seems unlikely a woman would just disarm herself in that situation by purposefully ruining a weapon, once she held it.

I can't find it now, but when I was looking for better razor blades I came across some information that said you can't trust the metals coming out of that region.
