Video of Fertilizer Plant Explosion
— Pixy Misa

This is pretty intense stuff. It is my understanding that the man who filmed this survived the explosion, but did not survive the beating his wife gave him when he got home.

Consider this an open thread until the bossman shows up.

I get that he didn't know it would blow, and he probably thought he was far enough away, but, when your kids are in the car, you don't hang around. You never know what it is/was, or what caused it.

When Krakatoa blew in 1880-something Indonesia, the sound of the blast was heard about 2700 miles away in an island group off the west coast of Africa. 105 The other video, of the woman who's car windows were blast out, said there were kids running and telling her to get away, that it's going to blow.

I felt bad, because she left them, running on their feet, and we don't know if they are okay.

She was driving away and all her windows were busted out.

It's hard to think if you're not used to emergencies, but too bad she didn't say "get in."

and

B) He is an insufferable, self-absorbed, petulant asshole.

But mostly B.

210 The Senate’s Gang of Eight immigration bill offers $50 million in taxpayer-funded assistance to help illegal immigrants file for the multi-stage amnesty offered by the controversial bill. The proposed spending is intended to help illegals get “registered provisional immigration status,” which is the first stage of the legalization process. The money can be given to activist groups to support immigrants who need help “completing applications and petitions, including providing assistance in obtaining the requisite documents and supporting evidence … applying for any waivers for which applicants and qualifying family members may be eligible,” according to Section 2106, beginning on page 131 of the complex 844-page bill. [...] Also, in more good news for illegal immigrants, the $50 million may be just a down payment. Section 2106(d)2(A) of the law provides a five-year authorization to congressional appropriations committees to spend even more taxpayer funds to help activist groups guide illegal immigrants in their quests for green cards as well as access to taxpayer aid and welfare programs. What sequestration?

287 #271, Actually I'd say Hollywood seems to like to keep the south stuck in the 1930s-1950s. Think about how rarely air conditioning is even shown in films set in the south. The whole mental image of people sweating their asses off and sitting lazily (from the heat) out on a breezy porch is gospel to Hollywood. The accents are always butchered too.

291 Boston is not one of the most racist cities in America and where is Knob Hill? Do you mean Beacon Hill? The place which is full of rich snobs but also home to the African American meeting house and the Abolition Trail?

Seriously, if you haven't been here or don't live here shut the fuck up. Hollyweird seems to love keeping this city pictured as if it was stuck in the 1970s. Dumb fuck punk townies barely exist anymore in Charlestown and South Boston. The majority of the violence in Boston is contained within a 10 block radius in Roxbury and ethnically homogenous.

OK, here's a bizarre story the morons might enjoy.

Apparently there were competing demonstrations at my daughter's campus (large public Univ in NY); "pro-life" vs "pro choice". Apparently the "pro-life" guys were displaying the kind of gross pictures that they sometimes do, to make their point.

Well, according to one of my daughter's classmates, one of the professors make a scene and got themselves arrested. The classmate said he was oddly amused at the perp's quote as they were being dragged off: "Tell my 1:00 class I won't be there..."

Just seems odd to see a barking-mad lefty apprehended on their own turf. Seems like a normal employer might fire you, or at least give you time off without pay, for associating their name with people who get arrested for misbehaving, but I somehow highly doubt that will happen here.

It must have received other complaints because now PA has another slogan.

There is a reason cities are becoming less and less non-Hispanic white, just s there is a reason white parents didn't want their kids involved in forced busing.

The back of Mission Hill and Jamaica Plain are quite safe other than the trouble which occasionally occurs related to the housing projects.

I was always scared when I heard my daughter and son-in-law were walking through Mission Hill.

If they have to live in Boston, I'm glad they live in Charlestown now.

364 Rubio said that he's not doing this for political reasons but because he wants to take it off the table so that Democrats won't be able to use immigration as an issue to bash Republicans over the head with. LOL. If so, I have a bridge to sell him. He also said the hispanic number in, say, Cali, are from births, not illegal aliens. What he doesn't say is births from illegal aliens.

Sorry Marco, nothing you're saying is inspiring confidence. I started getting a feeling that he wasn't very kosher when he brought up immigration during the campaign and his plan was different from Romney's. I'm not asking for 100% purity, but there have to be some standards. And being stupid by p*ssing off the base and ensuring permanent Democrat rule doesn't meet those standards. Buh-bye Marco.

Rush is such a weak-kneed sister, he won't even dare ask Rubio, "I get what you're saying about taking this off the table. But, let me ask you: Can you name one issue we "got off the table" that the Democrats didn't still attack Republicans over?"

391 Boston still has forced busing/school choice lottery even though the city doesn't run that many school buses anymore. Due to corruption and divestiture of properties to connected developers over the years, the city doesn't have enough neighborhood schools anymore to meet demand. The school system is now 90% minority and everyone wants to go back to local schools other than the crooked school administrators. It is at the point that the Donk run city government is ready to throw BPS under the bus and go to a completely privatized voucher/charter school system in order to have sufficient neighborhood schools of a quality parents want to send their children too.

396 Speaking of Boston, it occured to me the other day that the town might hold the record for "town associated with the most number of defeated Presidential candidates"---Adams**, J.Q. Adams**, Dukakis, Kerry, Romney. If we throw in the entire state of Massachussetts as a whole, you've got Daniel Webster as well--six losses, versus Adams, J.Q. Adams, and Kennedy actually getting elected. 3 victories out of 8 attempts. It's 4 for 10 if you include the first Bush, him having been born in the state. **obviously, Braintree/Quincy were outside Boston in their day, but are in the metro area.

Hollyweird seems to love keeping this city pictured as if it was stuck in the 1970s. Dumb fuck punk townies barely exist anymore in Charlestown and South Boston. 403 Wow, Rubio is making no sense at all. He at least made some sense than this in the early stages. Oh and as for the people would have to go home and try to apply, but hey, they're not going to go home so we'll just make them wait a little longer than the 3 to 5 years than they would have if they were legal. I have gone to US embassies in my country and seen so many people, even those who seem to meet the requirements (financially stable, have ties to their home countries) be rejected straight up. It puts fear in the heart of us others waiting to get our visas. So what about those people who want to come here but don't have the opportunity to sneak across the border otherwise come here in the first place? I know no non-citizen has a right to be here but since we're talking about fairness...
