— Ace The press is portraying this as all relevant emails, which of course they could not know, and is extremely doubtful.
But the liberals are determined to give Obama a cookie. And yes, that's a link to the WSJ, but its reporters tend to be liberal.
Let's hold off on this claim they've released all the emails until we can confirm that, huh?
The Selected, Redacted Emails You've Been Permitted to Read: Here.
Randy notes:
The emails conveniently start on 9/14. 3 days AFTER the attack.
Right, after the Talking Points had already been significantly massaged.
After smoking-gun witness evidence of a coordinated, planned attack was reported.

And, of course, they're all so redacted that you can't actually tell what was said anyway.
But they'll be given a pass.
Sarah P's (illegally obtained) emails? "Pour on the resources!"

The Obama administration’s editing of the Benghazi talking points not only obscured what really happened in Libya on September 11, 2012, it also confused the events of earlier that day in Cairo, Egypt. The editing process specifically removed any hint that “jihadists” were encouraged to “break into” the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. In fact, jihadists were incited to act by Mohammed al Zawahiri, the younger brother of al Qaeda emir Ayman al Zawahiri, as well as several other al Qaeda-linked extremists.

As America sleepwalks into communism we can thank many domestic enemies: the Media, the Democrat Party and Hollywood mainly, but never forget the role that the NEA played in all of this and they deserve a special round of condemnation and contempt. For we entrusted our children to them. We entrusted, quite literally, the future to them. And while we were out patrolling the frontiers of freedom and defeating worldwide communism in the form of the Soviet Union, they were back home, confortable in their entrenched tenure and union bennies, poisoning the minds of our children and turning them against us.
Never forget.

three days later after you've had time to screw around with information is not good enough.

I've heard that sentiment from many people, some who have shown little other interest in politics. People truly seethe over "Beyonce Night" taking precedence over American soldiers who were left stranded while under attack. This has been simmering ever since.
I think that one day historians will look back on that act of cowardice as the overstep that tilted public opinion and caused the JEF's presidency to unravel.

Most of these people appear to believe the vapid shit they type (though it's meaningless). That's frightening. And there's a fucking smiley face in there...
Idiots rule.

ot
My sister was just telling me the cops raided a home near her (in cali) where they found pipe bombs and bomb making materials.
Helicopters, bomb squad, the whole nine yards.
They arrested a volunteer paramedic (I think- firefighter, though, maybe) in West, TX for having "bomb making materials." Of course, they *charged* him with "possession of an unlicensed firearm" and the only "bomb making materials" they'll talk about are "bags of powder" which, last time I checked, were not illegal to possess.
I begin to wonder if the Administration is trying to shore up its "hardass" cred.

I do civil litigation. If I got 100 piddling pages of emails in response to a document production demand I'd be in court seeking sanctions for obvious non-compliance.

The official who provided this e-mail to CNN removed the other e-mail exchanges from other principals. That includes anything written by Nuland, who - as I reported - objected to a paragraph in the draft talking points that referenced prior threats against US and other foreign interests in Libya.
In that e-mail, according to source, Nuland wrote that such information "could be abused by members [of Congress] to beat up the State Department for not paying attention to warnings, so why would we want to feed that either? Concerned Â…"
The paragraph Nuland was "concerned" about was removed in its entirety. That e-mail has not been disputed by the administration.

I still think he got jerked around by the WH yesterday, but what is here that contradicts the original reports?
Posted by: The Q at May 15, 2013 05:45 PM (XQzGn)
There's a difference between failing to confirm and contradicting.
Could be he means that the redacted, cherry picked e-mails don't contain the info that Karl and Hayes had, but also doesn't contradict them.

Fast and Furious all over again. You send a bunch of irrelevant crap, and then quote statistics that "prove" that you're transparent and cooperating.
OTOH, somebody of "The Five" seemed to think that one of those emails confirms that the WH had lied about "superficial editing".

No mention of the cable to Cairo, either? Frankly, I'd just as soon not use this, then...NSS's call, to be sure; however, this is certainly not what Vice Chairman Ruppersberger was hoping to get for unclas use."
Most likely it is Petraeus. His middle name is Howell and 1974 is his West Point graduating class.

It's so painfully obvious that this was a political whitewash to protect a presidential candidate whose central campaign argument was that he had gotten Bin Laden and essentially dismantled Al Qaeda. Wouldn't look too well for Obama when the actual facts were that this was a pre-planned attack by Al Qaeda elements in Libya on the anniversary of 9/11, following multiple prior attacks on that same installation in Benghazi as well as other country's political installations in Benghazi. There were countless warnings that this attack was coming, and since Al Qaeda loves meaningful anniversaries for launching attacks, we all but knew the exact date and time of the impending action. Everything about this is shameful, but the coverup is second only to the fact that those responsible for the attack and murders have been walking free for several months. Of course, we never should have been in Libya in the first place, but since it was Obama's war and not a Republican's, it was honorable and just.
