Whitehouse delusion status: CRITICAL
— Purple Avenger

[I stepped on this for the breaking filibuster story, so I'm bumping it back up-Drew]

The kerflufle is only about the website fustercluck. Once that's fixed, its all good.

...“This is a situation where the politics flows pretty clearly from the policy,” the senior official said, adding that the solution isn’t ultimately that complicated.

“We’re focused on the implementation, because when that gets straightened out – and it will – the politics will straighten out too,” the official said...

18 In the frenzy to report "all ChoomCare, all the time" we are, of course, overlooking a few little nasties that President Historic First's© regime is cooking up....

There's Yellin's confirmation (apparently a slam dunk), Lurch's messing around with the Mad Mullahs in Iran, all that fiddling with the unemployment and "job creation" numbers, the upcoming "budget" issues (thanks for straightening that out, Paul Ryan!) and Hairy Reid's "nuclear" ranting about how the Senate does its thing....

Could there be anything else? Bet on it.

Or are we leaving the rest of the nation's collapse to Darrell Issa and his Intrepid Investigators?

30

Sticker shock, guys. Most of the people who have supported Obamacare didn't realize it would affect them personally, negatively, financially. For them, redistribution was for the other guy--you know, Rich Uncle Pennybags from the Monopoly game. Next year, the employer mandate kicks in and millions more will lose those sweet, corporate-sponsored healthcare plans because it will be cheaper to dump those people onto the exchanges and pay the fines than it would be to meet the costs entailed by the ACA.

If the Democrats' longterm plan has been to use the ACA as an incremental step necessary to introduce a single-payer system similar to the British NHS, then that plan will almost certainly fail. I write 'almost certainly' because one should never underestimate the power of the Free Shit Army or the willingness of the Democrats to lie to achieve their goals.

Whatever happens, the healthcare system will be wrecked for years and many thousands of people will not receive the medical care they need, which means that ultimately many thousands of people will die who otherwise wouldn't. That's the bottom line here. But then, none of this has been about helping sick people in the first place. It's all been about the acquisition of State power.

63 Christie is about to address the GOP Governor's association. I was yelling at my TV screen this morning, but not at Krispy. Get this: MSNBC showed a clip of their own reporter, Kelly ("I'm not Norah") O'Donnell asking Christie a question, which Christie dutifully answered. It was a totally benign question and answer about what his goals were as head of the governor's association, to which Christie gave a stock answer that his goals 1,2 and 3 were to elect more Repub governors. Cut back to Mika Boobinski and her snickering cohorts including Nicolle ("Iscariot") Wallace who spent the next 5 minutes bitching that Christie is too visible, people are getting burned out on him, he never met a microphone he didn't like, etc. etc. Uhhh, WTF? YOUR OWN FUCKING REPORTER asked him a question, and he answered it. If Christie had NOT answered it, they would have bitched that he "can't take the tough questions from unfirendly networks," he's "aloof and condescending" etc. etc. Hope Christie starts to understand that the MSM is not really his friend and never will be.

99 I just sent a Letter to the Editor of our statewide paper about all this website bullshit.   The website problems are inexcusable, but they aren't what's causing the pain.   THE LAW is the problem, not the website, and fixing the website is not going to fix the law.

100 For a second there I considered they were concerned about all of those people who can no longer afford health insurance, even when attempting to purchase through the website. Posted by: Lizzy at November 21, 2013 12:23 PM (JRmiD) It occurs to me that some people might have a medical crises during this period and find out that they cannot get care, or will have to pay for it out of their pocket. It further occurs to me that such a circumstance might earn the Democrats some undying hatred from whomever gets caught in such a mess. Everlasting hatred for Democrats sounds like a silver lining.

Good news for AtC though.  The Pats play the Browns this year on December 8.

So that's at least one win for the Browns.

Because if there is one thing the Pats do really well, it's that they sink to the level of the team they're playing.

So they got that goin' for them...which is nice.

106 I am now putting things all together and can see why states are legalizing marijuana, and the DEA is relaxing enforcement laws. It's all part of the plan to keep us in a drug fueled stupor. Change "marijuana" to "prescription drugs" and I'd agree with you. Pot isn't going to cause much of a drug-fueled stupor. It's a mild intoxicant. Smoking a whole joint by yourself is about the equivalent of 3 beers.

I will no longer mock the Patriots, at least for the next 15 minutes.

Their owner responded to a friend's letter to him, asking for a personal note for his son's Bar Mitzvah.

It was hand-written by Kraft, was lovely, and clearly meant something to him. he even included some Hebrew!
